70's now, 80's later, humid and chance of a shower but looks like the Virginia boys are getting most of it. Sprayed weeds and such yesterday, trimmed trees of new growth and suckers, did around 20 that in are in my scenic view. Don't wanna miss the deer, turkeys, groundhogs, rabbits, squirrels and airplanes!

I'm afraid the dog days of summer have arrived in N. Texas. All next week the forecast is for mid-70s at night and high 90s during the daytime. Towards the end of the week, we cold pop up over 100 F. That just means all garden work has to be done early. I'll get up and go to the garden rather than make coffee and check out TBN. I'll get here, but it may be 10:00 AM each day before I escape the heat.

Poured first cup of coffee...

... Still working on removing shrubs.

Then NASCAR in the afternoon.
Good Morning All.

We did the thing with removing overgrown shrubs yesterday and I see how it can take forever, After hacking and cutting for too long I got the JD790 TLB out and carefully squeezed the bucket between the brick house and shrubs and popped them out. A little messy--not much--but since we tied the bushes together first with baling twine everything stayed in a neat bundle. Three shrub are now gone. Dog will have to find a new place to whiz.

Today, the wife thinks the gardening world is her oyster and is contemplating ways to fill up those empty shrub places with some new plant or whatever and the cycle begins anew.

Sam, I've got the same company; 10Mbps download and about .75 Mbps upload. CenturyLink is generally pretty good, but occasionally . . . . Tuesday morning I was on the Internet early, but then about 9 a.m., I noticed the "Internet" light was out on the modem. So I did a little checking to see if it would reset; finally decided to call CenturyLink. No wonder I had no Internet service; the phone was dead. So I called on my cell phone and talked to a lady who wasn't too bright for 13 minutes. She suggested I unplug everything from all the phone jacks, then plug in a corded phone to each jack, etc., etc. I told her we were just wasting time and I just wanted it fixed. So she said she'd send a repairman out, but it might be 24 hours before he got here. About an hour and a quarter later, I noticed the light was back on the modem, Internet worked, but not the phones, so I unplugged all the phones again and plugged them back in and they worked. I expected to hear from CenturyLink, but no one every called and no one ever showed up. But anyway, it's worked ever since.
we have had the worst service from century link as any of our previous company's. we have signed letter's and sent them to our state representive our congressman and the BB and it don't get any better. what has happened is they have over sold there service and don't have the lines or equiptment in place to handle the load. right now we have about 2 miles of phone cable laying in the ditch ahere they never covered it up we show it to them and thats all that's said about it.

Mostly sunny with a high of 22C/72F.
Had a nice visit with old friends that stayed with us for a couple of days. It is almost 6 years since he had his double lung transplant. He looks good and has a great outlook on life.
Sold some of my lumber yesterday so have to re-pile a bit that they did not take.

You know I love you Bill! :D

Some advice: Don't get drunk and tell one about stupping the other. Just don't. It can be painful, physically. :(

And just like Forrest, that's all I have to say about that.

This is our third year so one would hope we would get better at it! Last year we had 75 people show up so it was busy for us all. We plan on starting the fire this year right around midnight and put the pig on the spit around 2am

Bill, I never said juggling women was not hard, I don't have anything to compare it to. The hardest day of my ride involved 50 mile at a 13.5 mph clip followed by a 25 mile ride into a 20-30 mph head wind in 100+ temps.

The hardest day of my career when I was working involved a straight 18 hour day of driving and delivery stops, over 600 miles total from 4 am to 10 pm.
