So far results look like refi of "the ranch" is nigh unto impossible due to land worth more than the home...

For another home for wife and girls, touchy... I'm looking at a VA loan, and the biggest obstacle will be averaging my income over last 2 years will still include 5.5 months of no income... Can't look at my current income going forward, must look backwards...

Sigh...

That 5 months of no employment will be very difficult to overcome.....very difficult!

Poured first cup of coffee. 48 degrees with a rain this morning. Heading to 59 with morning rain and clouds in afternoon. Next step in my mothers care today. Visit to a lawyer. My mother was very wise in her old age planning. All the paper work had been done years ago to help my siblings and I manage her affairs. Just need to maximize what little saving she has to make her life comfortable.

I hope everyone got their taxes in an paid as little as possible into that black hole of waste, fraud, and abuse of OUR treasure.

I too am praying for Boston. Terrorism is entirely unjust, and the victims are truly victims of heinous acts. I hope the perpetrators are swiftly found and severly punished, whomever they may be.

I also Pray for Roy, and Ron's Mom, and my own family...

45 going to 75 today. All the expected rain seems to be going North of us, no wonder Roy is getting wet.
Hey, I'm planting lettuce, I want some down here please....hand watering gets pretty tiresome.

I started a new thread on the Boston Marathon. My brother in law is an avid runner, looks the type, tall and skinny, and while he was not in the race, he had eleven friends who were, from two different running clubs. Google promptly set up a people finder which was pretty neat of them.
All eleven were ok. Ok stock market, let's recover now...

49 and gray. Chance of spotty rain today and tomorrow and the next day... I mowed the yard for the first time yesterday. It was kind of dry. I wouldn't mind a day of nice steady rain. Saturday I went to PA plow days. What a hoot. 175 lawn and garden tractors knocked out 50 acres in about 4 hours. There were some interesting machines there and some beautiful John Deeres. I noticed that it is possible to spend a lot of money to make your machine look better than new and still not know how to plow. There was a young lady there with a little red Wheel Horse who did a real nice job. Nice and smooth. Sure made the diesel snorting monsters who were spinning their wheels and stopping every 10 feet look silly.

Sodamo, keep up the good work, Remember the diet starts at the grocery store and this is a long term commitment. Don't get discouraged when you plateau, just double down and go for the long term. Is your goal to loose a specific amount or are you trying to obtain your correct BMI? Here in Texas some employers have the workers go through a health screening each year during health insurance renewal month and they get discounts for being in their BMI range.

66 F this morning and very wet. We had 0.81" of rain last night from probably the only storm in Texas, and it picked Sunset for it's path. Unfortunately, it came up quickly and I was exhausted from planting flowers all day and working in the garden. I didn't get my tomatoes covered and we had a lot of nickel and quarter sized hail. I'm sure some of the tomatoes got bruised pretty badly as did most of my other seedlings popping out of the ground. I'll replant as required. I put pictures in the Texas Spring/Summer thread.

All those things pale by comparison to the senseless carnage around the bombs in Boston. My heart goes out to the families of those killed, and I pray for a speedy recovery of those injured. Boston and the world are in shock.
