28 early, low 50's they say later, 70's by Monday!

Good morning! 65 partly cloudy.
Last night was a bad night for Whipper. She noticed a snake slithering across the compass rose and got very upset. My spotlight's battery was dead so I could not help her as she chased it away. I was able to do a zoom picture and during the flash I saw it was a poisonous copperhead. Apparently she got bit because this morning she is no longer a skinny faced pointer but a fat faced lab. Besides a swollen snout she seems active and feeling ok. The picture turned out blurry but good enough to identify the snake.

Only 21 here. Winter may never end. I gotta get my taxes done also. Really need to get busy on this!!! Have to replace a water heater at my neighbor's 1st. Have a good one!!

Today is the start of the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival and it's a beautiful site to behold.

Just like my tulip garden. . . NOT! That's gorgeous, Larry. I'm still waiting on the rain the weatherman promised. It's 53 F here this morning and overcast, but not a drop of rain has fallen overnight. My ponds and lake are very low. I'm posting some photos in the Texas Spring/Summer thread. I'll come back here and edit in a link after I post.

Poor Whipper! Do your dogs learn to not mess with snakes, or is like dogs and porcupines here--I'll get that sucker the next time.

64 here, but like Jinman, no rain. Began thundering about midnight, so I was hopeful, but it doesn't even look like rain this morning.

Well this is the third time she has turned into a fat faced lab, so either she does not care or she has a verrrry long learning curve.

Weather changes today from lots of sun and warmth to cloudy and chance of showers with a high of 14C/57F. Past couple of days there were a number of cities and towns in British Columbia that set high temperature records for the day, including a city about 35 minute drive away. Cut the lawn yesterday for the second time and got my 80 meat chickens. Our 40 yards of cedar shaving arrived, this will last us the year.

Txdon take care of whipper. I had a dog with a long learning curve, was skunked 3 times in one year, I think that was more painful for me than him.
Don't trust the weatherman said it would warm only 40 here windy and I will be sitting at a baseball game, son pitches collage ball. Good thing he gets the start of the first game of the double header I can watch the second from the warmth of my truck, or head home seeing once he pitches he gets the second game off.

Taxes? Still got 13 more days, no sense letting them have the money any sooner than necessary, I doubt anyone will starve, welfare wasn't sequestered.

good evening everyone had a nice day shineshine all day but the wind is still cold got to 54 today.taxes thats allways a bad time around here my wife is looking for receips for stuff she knows i bought but can find the proof. but there all done and now she's gone to spend a week with our daughter,[ i told my daughter i felt sorry for her for the next week] well i got to wash dishes feed the pets and get ready for another day.

I went to the store and got some good soft canned dog food for Whipper. She gobbled it up, so she has no loss of appetite. It's been 24 hours since she challenged the snake. It looks like she took a strike on the right side of her snout. She seems happy and is trotting about. Looks like she will live to fight another snake. (But I really wish she would leave them alone, she looks pitiful lopsided.)

Glad to hear Whipper is on the road to recovery.

The high today was 33*F, but the wind was very chilly. About the same forecast tomorrow. We had a few light snow squalls this evening.

Since it rained last evening before the temps dropped, then froze hard last night, the snow was easy to walk on today. I was surprised to see we still have a good foot of snow on the ground in some sheltered places in the woods. We have some bare spots where the ground leans south, and under the pines and spruces where the snow depth is limited, but still snow-covered everywhere else.

04-03-2013 Currently 36 degrees. It's early, but our inside dog had to go out, so I jumped on TBN since I couldn't go back to sleep. Hope everyone has a great day.
