39 or 40 here at 0500 depending on where you read the temp... It was supposed to hit 34,possibly even frost, but I think it will not.

Yesterday was interesting & exciting. TopPop52 has identified my problem, turns out both my Grandmothers were not nice people. One was bitter and alone, the other was widowed 5 times, 4 of them in 6 years!

Honestly the counselor seems like a nice guy, and my motto is "the perception of a problem is just as bad as if the problem really exists" therefore I will participate fully and get a "marriage tune up". we did this 10 years ago and things got better, and we are upon our 19th anniv this summer, so maybe an oil change is due.

But my wife basically giving me permission to get more data and "go for it" on a set of used Hay equip in Ohio was VERY exciting an made for stimulating conversation for the entire family. My 11 year old REALLY wants to learn to drive the tractor (I think 82 lbs of darling driving 10,000 lbs of tractor will be CUTE) but my 13 year old is scared of rolling the tractor over and intimidated by it. The 11 year old as recently as last summer was not heavy enough to keep the seat engaged on my JD mower, so the 13 year old always drove it.

The gist of my wife's approval was this, if the SHTF in any fashion either due to collapse of economy, political, or just because I lose my job, she would like me to have other business interests that #1 provice for ourselves nd our critters, and generate some income or barterable stuff. I won't argue with her logic.

Today I get my annual review at work, I hope it is a good one, but for the first time in my career I'm afraid it might not be (and not because of anything I've done). this determines how much bonus I get (which is already spent on the roof, and maybe hay equip). So....

I honestly hope this hay thing works out and we do get to meet. I was thinking about asking you to go over and look at it before I commit to buy, but I'm getting no response at all. Not to my PM or post. I assume he is having second thoughts.

I have a line on some equip in NY also, and I have not even tried to look locally yet.

I suspect we will find a way to meet up my friend.

David, that wasn't the grandma picture I had in mind, but I understand!
I don't know how old you are and Lord knows I ain't a counselor, however that never stopped me before!
When things are going badly our wives are the second ones to suffer, after ourselves. The thing we need to learn is that our wife is on our side and we need to keep it that way. So instead of taking out our problems on our families we need to direct it into positive thinking in a manner that improves the situation. Your family will be more than glad to get on board.:thumbsup:

The counselor was fine. I love my wife and kids very much and if I need a tune up I'm going to cooperate regardless. Better than the alternatives...

Job review stank. I'm getting skewered for some stuff that is simply not right. I'm only getting 75% of my bonus for the year and a 0% raise... That has only happened one other time in my entire career.

Such is life at the moment.

The complete irony is that for the last 4 work days I have been doing the diving ctch and saving the day with complex and difficult situations and getting rave emails and customer comments. I have been totally under utilized and throttled back by my manager and my team, and another team has discovered my value...

Not soon enough to save my review though...

Life is what it is, and I am just going to grind through until something breaks in my favor again, God willing.
