Well it's not morning any more but it's not because I slept in.
We had a pretty strong wind and rain/snow storm overnight and into late morning. Up to around 90-115 kilometer per hour (60 -70 MPH) and even stronger along the water. Had a tree come down over the power line sometime in the wee hours this morning. Hydro just got the power back on a few minutes ago. Still a bit blustery with some rain but looks like the worst is over. There were over 40,000 people without power, mostly on Vancouver Island. Ferries are still canceled until mid afternoon at the earliest.

46F Cloudly w/left over rain showers..that should loosen the ice etc.

Ground thawing quick,enough so one can't walk on the lawn or even to think about spring clean up.

Well, Thomas' weather is over here, too; a LOT of melting went on yesterday, guess it'll continue for a few days. Burlington, VT hit a new record (again), 62. We didn't see that, but it was pleasant. Guess it's time to get grandson's basketball hoop out- he's been bugging me about it for two weeks now. Glad I have a tractor to do the heavy lifting!

"I was wondering is that the Post Mills airport you mentioned above? " Wayne, Post Mills airport is up near West Fairlee, VT, but Parlin field is, I think, pretty close to the Sugar River near Claremont & Newport, NH. Is that the river you mean? I've pulled a few rainbows out of there, myself!:thumbsup:

Coffee is poured. 69 this morning. Heading to a high of 87 this afternoon. Still moving slow this morning. Back is getting better.

I think that is the area, there is a section of fly fishing / single hook and they do stock some nice rainbows. We aim to go there two or three times during the spring. We were in Concord yesterday and the temp registered 69 on the display in the truck. Not sure if that was an accurate reading or not.

Ice is going out on the pond behind the house and our son had his canoe out there yesterday along with the dog swimming beside him. One has to wonder about these bird dogs!

We've had some much-needed rain over the weekend, but yesterday turned out to be a postcard day. It was 76F yesterday afternoon. My grandson is on spring break and we all spent the afternoon outside. This morning it is 56F and foggy. In the last hour, the fog's density has doubled so that visibility is now about 500 ft. I hope it starts to lift soon. My wife is taking my grandson and a friend to an amusement park today and has to drive 75 miles one-way.

High in the 70s today... And that's weird. It's just too warm for March. I'm going to take my new JD out to try and box blade rough portions of my drive. I did a small bit yesterday before putting the tractor up, and it wasn't as good as I hoped. Downsizing from a 2WD JD 2030 to a 4WD 3038E may be tough... Necessary given everything, but tough.

Good morning all. A little nicer this morning as we have our power.
Snowed a bit over night, maybe 1/2 inch. Said on the news last night the our wind storm knocked out power to over 94,000 customers on Vancouver Island. The weather forecaster called the event a weather bomb.
One the the weather stations located on an island in the Strait of George recorded wind gust of 167 kilometers per hour. While cool out is is calm.
We lost our power for about 9 hours so all in all not so bad.

48 this morning, 61 right now...just came in from using a handsaw to trim down storm damaged cedar limbs. There were tornado watches and warnings out for mid-Michigan last night until about 10 pm, we got lots of wind and almost 2 inches of rainfall but that was all.

Seems so weird to have this kind of weather 10 weeks into 2012...

Ran the wood stove over the weekend and it almost went out Sunday morning but I figured it was just cold enough to stoke it back up. That was a mistake. It got warmer outside quicker than I thought and before long the house was at 86.

Twas a bit cold Monday morning but the house was still on the warm side. Today we have temps in the 60s. This week we will hit 80. :confused2:

Average last frost/freeze date is 4/15 for our area.

I planted a 100+ seeds in cups this weekend. Hopefully this warm weather will get them going.

51 degrees at 0530.

It is supposed to be 80 today or tomorrow (or both).

My oldest daughter got her the first tick of the season (danged early for that!) and came in at 0300 in a panic and woke my wife and I up...

I'm spending today over at my large rental in town cutting down a large cherry tree in the front yard. It will be nice wood for my smoker & the tenant is helping and they plan landscaping after it is gone, so why would I argue...
