I plan to go up to the pasture and bring the tractor back down to the house area, take the toothbar off and put the new Ratchet Rake on.
Maybe today I will finally do my 50 hour service...
I am going to try to repair some minor damage to my FEL. Way back when the debris busted a hyd connection it also unscrewed a nut, well my dealer and I kept missing each other and over time the other stud just broke off and the first one is beaten threadless. I stopped in and picked up some bolts washers etc. from the dealer and will try to fix it maybe today if I can get it close enough to the carport so I'm under cover.
46 and dark here at 0500. I rained like CRAZY yesterday. Everything is a mud bog today I am certain.
One cute story is that my Paint horse Harley got all excited when I fired up the tractor. He got all frisky and bouncy. Back at the rescue where he lived the last 7 years, they fed the horses (they have had as many as 120) from their 'Bota going down the fenceline filling buckets. In the afternoon they also chased my F-150 down the driveway and back. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE when the horses get frisky and RUN, it is so beautiful...
I got the toothbar off and ratchet rake on yesterday, but the FEL repair was a no-go, the studs on the newer 2011 FEL's are threaded, but mine seem to be welded. I was unable to budge the stripped one, and the broken one there was nothing I could grab.
My dealer is picking it up later this morning to take it to his shop and re-weld the studs and fix it. It has not been off the property except just a bit dow the gravel easement to my neighbors to move cedar trunks loggers left, or to pick up his PHD. I have not even had it as far as the pavement yet. It will be weird to not have it here.
So last evening I had to strip it naked, dropped the bucket w/RR and dropped off the stump grinder (Yes, I made SURE the HYD pressure was relieved BEFORE I unhooked it). My wife said it looked funny and naked. Thus far it has had the grapple on 99% of the time. I suspect for the bucket will get MUCH more use now with the Ratchet Rake, but I need it to dry out a bit so I can test it on my slash!
Enough of my soap opera...
Good Morning all! Have an amazing day!
Be well,
David
