Della and I got a good hike, and she a good swim before the rain started. No one else at the park since rain was imminent, so lots of freedom for her.

Watching 3 deer out the window right now, heading over where I usually take Della for her morning walk. I guess I'll go the other way and give them some privacy since it's about time to go.

Punta Cana, 77 to start going to 82 ! The sun is breaking through the clouds and looking out the window the palms are blowing around so we have some wind this morning !

Had a disagreement with one of the other guests on the beach yesterday! So the way it works is whoever goes out puts towels on the cots or personal items in the cot in the morning has that spot until the items are removed! I went out at 5:15 am yesterday and put tubes on all the fits we were using ! I didn’t put towels out because it had just stopped raining and everything was wet. So this couple came out at 8 am and removed our tubes and put their towels on our cots !
Then they disappeared until 3:30 pm when they returned and wanted to know why we were on their cots ! So the other couple we are with only put towels on their cots, and I thought they put towels on ours also ! So in the end big misunderstanding! The bottom line is I was there first ! Had to have a cocktail after all of that !

Squirrel does a good job cleaning up under bird feeders. If only I could train it to cleanup leaves.

Coffee is cooling in cup. 44° with cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 50° with cloudy skies. .34" of rain yesterday. That may not be accurate. Found a leaf stuck in rain gauge inlet. Thought I got all 6 items on my to do list yesterday evening. Nope new wiper blades are still sitting on shelf waiting for install. I will get to it before next rainfall. No plans for today yet.
Squirrel does a good job cleaning up under bird feeders. If only I could train it to cleanup leaves.

Drew, no Full Moon pictures until clouds are gone. Maybe tomorrow morning.

Buckeye, how do you get Trash Can out without moving Golf Cart.

Rav4 looks nice, Don! Batteries don't like to sit, and with no daily commute, I opted for IC engines instead of hybrids last year.

The new RAV4 is also ICE. It is not a Hybrid.

Good morning! A surprise 36˚F before sunrise the coldest of the season. House temp at 73˚. Heater has not been turned on. Heading to the mid 70s today with clear skies and the wind returns from the S.

I have 3 small (3 ft.) Leyland Cypress trees from Home Depot to transplant along the back fence line to replace the shrubs and hedges that could not take the severe previous winters. These are the same trees that the Adventure farm has planted for their Christmas tree farm, so I will see if they can take the conditions West of I35.

The dinosaurs have arrived on the farm but I have not been called so I don't think they are getting the crowds they had at the fall festival - This weekend with good weather will be the test.

46 outside this AM, heading to mid 50's. Still sprinkling. Might have been a good light rain that started yesterday while I was mowing, but it never really seemed to drop any water of significance. Better than nothing.

Managed to cut the middle and front 40 yesterday, all done. The windshield wipers got turned on for the first time on the tractor and so did the heater. Got the final cuts in for the year.

Wife came home last night with a close out truckload from the local nursery. I did not see what she brought, but from peeking out the window looks like a full bed of shrubbery I will have to spend some time on. Not expected. My idea of landscaping is controlling what Mother Nature puts down.

State Police made an arrest in the hit and run, a community member that lives a few miles away. Still on the lookout for another vehicle that also did not stop.
Had good input from social and local news coverage. Prayers for the family.

Looks like next Friday I will be up in MD again, moving cars. Please let us hope this is the end of the rope to this anchor.
The family drama to all that is spilling over now between me and the wife. I try and keep my mouth shut since I am also dealing with my Dad's estate which is sucking what little trust I have in lawyers and government dealings out the window.

Need to get busy with the real job, seems someone thinks the glitch I encountered is fixed, so off to the PO I go.....no confidence.

Finally got old car removed and off to it's next place.
New car still was not ready last night, hopefully tonight.

Well L4N at least your license will be back, but so much cost, angst and time wasted. Only a multilayered Bureaucracy can make that kind of thing happen so well and inefficiently.

Rip - hope you can get this all closed up and behind you, a little less excitement sounds like ti would be nice for you.

Put the van in the repair bay and up on ramps. Will look at it some more. Seems it has a diesel fuel leak as well. Ordered 6 new tires for the truck. Ouch 2200 dollars. Going in to get them mounted tomorrow

I got notice from my medical provider that the contract with my Medicare Advantage insurance company was expiring (1/1/25) and the treatment fees were inadequate - they were trying to negotiate a "fair" reimbursement schedule. I got a letter from the insurance carrier a week later confirming "negotiation" wasn't happening and they were nice enough to set me up with a new doctor - 25 miles away. I like my dr and she's right here in town (4 miles). I'm gonna pick new coverage...

I'm going to put out my snow fence (today?) before the weather turns.

37°F and cloudy this morning, going up to 57° today.

We've been in a cycle of rain every few days here, and I don't hate it. Dry for this weekend, then more on Monday. Again, we'll take it.

We finally had a local tree service come and take down the giant pecan tree next to the garage. Since it was only about four feet from the garage, and with only one way to drop it without destroying something, we opted to let the pros do it. I'm not going to miss that tree.

Been awhile, so I have some catching up to do here. Hope everyone is well.

When bears go hibernate in fall?

Depends on weather...temperature,if snow how much,food supply,age,if female has cub/cubs...in our area female has cub/cubs they den early than male,we had bear tracks mid December 4" snow temps were brrrr.
Old timers say adult bear likes to den during good snowstorm hide their tracks and sent also location of the den.

Ron, I was kind of thinking of putting the squirrel in a cage with a wheel and some treats out of reach. You might get some electricity generated ! Of course that’s not helping the leaf situation !

Putting squirrel in cage means I need to find someone to do feeder cleanup.
