This mornings excitement:

I took Gray2 out on the front walk this morning to do the daily "airing out of the cat". I looked across the street and from about rooftop level a large object was bearing down just to my left about 10' high as it was approaching and descending rapidly as it was coming down in a glide. I yelled and waved my hands and the owl aborted his mission and swooned upwards just missing my house. Gray2 still must have had some of his 9 lives left. The wingspan of the owl was about 4' and 9 pound Gray2 looked tiny compared to him.

I think in 3 days I'll have enough okra for a shake.

Nice poster BEF. We need to look at thinks in different perspectives.

Nice vegetable haul Drew. My fall plantings are starting to sprout.

"I think in 3 days I'll have enough okra for a shake."

When I stopped at the DQ, for a delicious DQ chocolate milk shake, on National Chocolate Milk Shake Day, last week .... I asked if they offered, had ever offered, or have ever considered offering an Okra Shake?

As far as I know .... they're still rolling on the floor laughing at me.

I may have to wear a disguise ...... to go there in the future?

Good evening all. 73F this morning, clear, calm wind. Light wind day, sky mostly clear, high temp was 98F HI 104F. Choir sang at chapel this morning after service time to make pancakes for wife. Check the trolling motor batteries, both at 12.65V so nothing is draining too quickly, 1 battery was not hooked up correctly and got totally drained of charge. Pulled some sand burrs, and watched some football, baseball and a nap.
Phil, sounds like a productive week, glad your getting so rest today.
Ron sorry you did not get seat time, hopefully soon, hope you are doing well.
Jay good luck with the rest of your prep, wife and I got a chuckle from your pear tree story. She got poison Ivy in her blood stream and had to do a course of Prednisone so she could totally relate.
Drew sorry about the water nozzles, nice veggie haul  When I rotated tires on my pickup, it only took it 1 mile or so and the computer worked out the new location of each tire. Still went through the "training" procedure anyway.
Buckeye, thanks for the poster
Kyle nice update.
David sorry to hear block removal not so easy. hope all are still usable after being chipped.
Don glad you were able to convince owl to abort. Stepdaughter boyfriend blood work came back, diabetes better cholesterol not so much so gave them links to nutrionfacts and forksoverknives website.
Rick if disguise doesn't work, how far to the next DQ?
prayers for all.

Finding battery drainage is not fun most of the time.

I had to take prednisone last time I got poison ivy. It worked. IIRC, 5 or 7 days worth.

That’s too exciting, Don
I remember when we had puppies we’d never leave unattended especially when the hawks were in the area.

Didn't get to see the sun yesterday and it looks like it will be equally elusive for most of today. Baling didn't happen either, it turned to full on rain long before the contractor arrived. High pressure is on the way though and fortunately we still have a plentiful supply of hope.

Wng, I am fascinated by your Chemex, it looks so simple and elegant. I know next to nothing about coffee, is it really as easy as copying what this lady does ? Brandende Vragen: Chemex - YouTube

(I don't understand her language, but I know you always like to hear something new, so what better way to start the week than learning a little Dutch - "Ketel", "Kop", err "Timer" )

Ron, are you on your second "Kop" of "Koffie" ? :)

Kyle, if you're otters are like ours I wouldn't worry, they will soon leave - once there is nothing left to eat

Everyone is up early, or is it late?

I remember mowing in my woods once and a big owl sat in a tree above me. Scared the crap out of me when i saw it. Guess it was hoping id stir up some food.

Yesterday i went out on the side porch with my walker and sat on the swing. Supposed to do that today in PT, so thought id practice first. Didnt stay out long, it was hot, no air moving, and stink bugs were attacking.

Son got home from the Delaware beach. I used to go there when i was his age. Told my wife we should go for a few days.. If only i could.

Saw some cute pics of the neighbors at the county fair with their grandkids.
