View attachment 613385

Poured first cup of coffee. 62° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 90° with mostly sunny skies and late PM thunderstorms. Going to ge a hot one. Yesterday drove golf cart up to neighbors place. Left it in his dive without setting E-brake. We we got ready to leave it was at bottom of a hill. Have run backwards into a tree. No physical damage. But rear axle seems to have moved from its proper location. That will be my project this morning before heat gets to much to be outside.

Buckeye, sorry to hear about your rehab problems. Hope your Dr visit today gets you some relief. Prayers sent.

Randy good to hear your recovery is going good. Prayers sent your way. Give Ellen a extra hug for all her support.

LS, son moved to Charlotte, NC from WA state. To get away from the NW climate. Much happier there. But wife stayed in WA because kids and grandkids live there. :confused3:

Prayer for all those in need.

Thomas, I put out some owl spinners this spring. They have worked well to keep deer, birds and other animals out the 2 lean to's we have. But I store no food in those areas.

Eric, I found the buzzard. I will leave it there for Buckeye.

Good Morning All.

Good Morning All. 75 and very humid out this am. Thunderstorms last night knocked out the power for a couple of hours, but did nothing to improve air quality. Headed to 86 today and then the upper 90’s for the weekend.

I emailed Dr in middle of night about pain, he reaponded that he increased my dose.

So i sent email about the poor tech i had, and how she threatened me as a patient.
And how the night nurse woke me and gave me a duplicate of my night meds. I was groggy, but did say i thought i took them....

First PT in 15 min.

Im in a spinal cord unit, because of neurology requirement. This tech treating me as a spinal patient. She ignored everything i told her.

BEF .... hope they get things resolved soon for you.

Ron .... oops!

Don ...... keep doing your rain dance and don't forget to send some our way next week. Good luck with the pipeline guy. Set your expectation low.

Thomas ..... maybe some mods to your feed box?

Good Morning!!!! 71F @ 6:30AM. Plentiful sunshine. High 96F. Winds S at 10 to 15 mph.

Kyle, several sections of the Deere dealer's quote featured a Customer Discount line, but none even got close to 15%. 11% on the base tractor, then down to 6% on the loader, even lower for the accessories like the top'n'tilt. No discount on labor. The same family owns all the Deere dealerships in the area, so I'll have to go at least an hour to find anything different. I've skimmed the ads for used tractors, but there's a problem on the early ones with a valve in the FEL hydraulics that apparently takes a lot of persuasion to get a dealer to fix. Don't need that right off the bat. I'm keeping an open mind about LS, so I'll see what I see at the dealer this afternoon and then figure out what the next steps are.

Hope all of you are taking it easy in this heat. Drew, you're smart getting an early start, and even smarter for coming into the A/C when the temps spike. Hope the leg cramps stay away.

Good luck with the pipeline man, Don. Hard to see him wanting to compromise, though, with the law in his back pocket.

I wish clowns were only to be found hiding in boxes around here, Rick!

I like the wind chime idea, Thomas. A rat trap or two might make the bear step more carefully... What about the ol' pale of water balanced over the door trick to dampen his spirits when he tries to get in the shed? Maybe a tablespoon or two of ammonia in the water would help him remember he's not welcome?

That's a lot of hungry mouths, Ron. Congrats on all your hard work!

Headed for another motorcycle ride'n'camp with the Airheads this weekend, and decided to put the eve painting off 'till next week. So instead, yesterday I dug into installing the new instrument on the big enduro bike and got it all working. Lots of cut-solder-shrink wrap, lots of head scratching with the vague instructions and cryptic electrical schematic, and lots of button pushing to get all the settings right. This morning I'll tidy up the wiring and reinstall the headlight and front cowl, and that job'll be done.

Then off to see the LS man before it gets too hot to sit in the seat. He says he has both a XR4150H and XR4155H (both open station, which is what I'm wanting), and he'll drop the prices by $6K if I don't want the backhoes that are already installed on the two units on the lot. I've only used my backhoe a handful of times in the last 9 years, but I was really glad I had it when I did. But my Nardi is pretty anemic, and just not up to even middling tasks like digging out a root ball from just an 8" trunk. And getting it on and off the tractor is an ordeal as well, so I'll have to think some more about a backhoe, and if I'd be better off to just use that money toward a used mini-excavator.

Hang in there, gang, Friday's comin'!

73°F and cloudy this morning, going up to 97° today.

Some unpredicted heavy storms rolled through yesterday evening. They started around rush hour just west of STL and hit at our place around 6:30pm. The winds that preceded the storms were quite impressive. I had to chase down and re-secure several things before the rains started. I thought the sliding cover on the new pergola was going to rip itself to shreds before we could get out there to strap it to one side with a bungee cord. The tall pin oak in the back yard looked like it was bending to nearly 90°. To it's credit, it held fast. No major damage at our place, save some already needed dead limbing, and one live limb across the end of the driveway near the road. The rains that followed were not too bad, mostly lightning and thunder and a brief downpour followed by about two hours or so of light rain.

Nice pics, Eric. Looks none too different than this area of the Midwestern US. As Sigarms alluded, the buzzards around here are more akin to pterodactyls. Admittedly, it's hard to tell it's size from that picture, though.

Sounds like Thomas is winning the "Battle of the Boys" with his bear friend, so far anyway.

Give 'em ****, BEF. Medical care needs to be better than that.
