It's sad to see an outside thermometer in Vermont that goes to 120 degrees F. When I lived there pre-1975 I don't think the temperature ever went much above 90.
Heck, I still remember signing up for fall classes at UVM one day in September and it was snowing lightly.
20 miles east of Toronto, Canada I was sitting end of year exams in June in 1958 and it was snowing out. Melted as soon as it hit the ground.

I've been looking at what to do in Dallas.
Since I'm not Debbie... ;)
looks like they have a good aquarium there downtown, about an hour from my rv campground.
They also have a huge furniture mart, Nebraska Furniture but being in rv no room to take anything back.
I'll see what Mostly and the others think.
I need to do more in Texas than just stuff myself on barbecue and ribs.
I'll double up on my cholesterol pills but I hope to eat the best Texas has.

no interest in cowboy stuff, more interested in horsepower than horses...

can't name any names but once upon a time a long time ago we had a very nice female member here from Texas,
who I had hoped the first time, ten years ago, when I broke down in Jackson MS, that she would take me to a Texas dance hall.
not to dance, just to watch. I tried to email her again and no response.
Now where will I find a Texas cutie to take me dancing?

I also have to coordinate with Don and Kyle and whoever else might be available
not booking anything past Colorado til mid August.

anything in Amarillo I should see? The RV museum sounds interesting, I've seen a million pics of Cadillac ranch
guess I need to go to the Big Texan restaurant? I hate tourist crowds though.
pretty sure parking lot at Big Texan will hold my rv. Sounds like a better place to go for lunch vs dinner; I don't want
three pounds of beef...
I looked at it on google maps, seems to have a tacky South of the Border vibe but found a place to park.

next city to figure out is Albuquerque. Spending an extra day there East of the city, for Ted to show me the sights.

Drew,
While not Dallas. Lady Bird Johnson Wild Flower Gardens may interest you.
Not to far from Kyle.

I would definitely stop at the Big Texan, or go Bust.

the city of Albuguerque is interesting. Old Hwy66 and the road has a song in concrete so car sings as you travel. Also Sandia peak cable car to peak good viewing of the city.

Drew,
Albuquerque Ballon Festival is October 5-13 this year.
close but no cigar, that would have been way cool to see and take pics of
unfortunately I will be at the Route 66 Rv Park in Edgewood NM the last two days of September.

I already have Winslow pindotted on my trip, definitely want to suck up some Route 66 vibe.

Ken, huge numbers of critters, particularly those headed for my next tbone, are not what I want to see or smell.
I'm hoping I see plenty along the highway. Need to take a pic of a bison but that should come earlier in the trip when I'm further North.

sure don't want to eat one but would like to have a closeup with an armadillo.

Trip to neighbor was more social than work. He actually has his pole barn garage mostly built and discussed alternatives for the 1 wall. The glulam definitely overkill and he was concerned about the weight. Gonna be a nice space. Rationale for building was to have an area to clear coat his Corvette. LOL.

drew, couldn't find your trip map, but lots of bison in Custer / Mt rushmore area. More in yellowstone.
some attractions along I40 heading Eastbound after Flagstaff:
AZ:
Twin Arrows trading post
Winslow (with a flatbed ford parked there)
20170611_181302_AZ_GCTrip_Winslow.jpg

Holbrook Wigwam Motel (lots old cars)
20170611_173808_AZ_GCTrip_Holbrook_teepeemotel.jpg

Petrified Forest
NM:
Albuquerque - Singing Road (short hop off, doesn't take long) Sandia Peak if you have time.
Edgewood - LS
You are heading north from here.. so may miss:
Santo Rosa (We did not pay to see the Blue Hole, but drove to it)
Tucumcari (Is a must drive thru, lot of Rt66 buildings, probably the best Rt66 town, basis for the CARS movie)

Amarillo: Heading into town, lots of big cattle lots along I40.
Amarillo: Cadillac Ranch along I40, you can see it from the highway.
Amarillo: Big Texan
Groom: Leaning water tower.
You might be heading south towards Dallas and miss that, not a biggie to miss.

Dallas: Check up on Bird, haven't seen him on TBN in ages.

Got a new project, water softener is leaking onto the basement floor, tank is full, overflow is running water, so not sur where water on floor came from. Looks like the pump out cycle not working, but have not dug into it yet, just found it. I just replaced the gaskets inside of the rotating disk last year.

Just don't hit one while driving.
Armadillos can jump up to four feet straight into the air, and road-killed armadillos are so common that they've been nicknamed "Texas speed bumps".
from google ai.
Reportedly they make a good seven course meal when you add a six pack of beer.

I saw a lot of them in west TN on my many trips to AR.

I noticed a dead tree down along edge of my back field.

Good (Tuesday) morning. Overnight Low was a balmy 8.1C and it's presently 10.4C, overcast & calm. There was 3.5mm in the gauge @ 0900. Rain 'called' for the remainder of the day, which is great for re-filling the 'shed tank'.

Speaking of which, I called 'my' plumber about the non-urgent burst pipe. He said that he can get to me sometime this week. He also requested a photo of the pipe for sizing purposes. I actually managed to accomplish that and text it to him. Yay me!

That's about it, take care all.
