Good morning!!!!

When the temps hit the high nineties this is what I think about,

Got a phone call from my former dispatcher, the guy that usually hauled with me up north just fell off his truck today and busted his leg in many places. Now they are really scrambling to find a driver to replace him and me. They have one that will do it for 2 weeks, but that is not what the foreman wants.

Coffee is brewing. 65° with rain this morning. Heading to 83° with continued rain and thunderstorms. .71" of rain since yesterday evening. Got grass mowed and worked on a SSQA adapter for my tractor. Going to take a few days to complete this project.

Mostly, I prefer warm showers. Not the ones I get changing filters.

Everyone stay well and safe.

Good Morning All.

Morning all!
Currently 59 with low humidity and a nice breeze!
Managed to get the whole yard mowed and trimmed yesterday.
weather was picture perfect for sitting on the porch once the work was done. Today we run a few errands and then wait for the house guest to arrive. Small cook out tonight and a graduation party tomorrow.
Staying out of the shop while the weather is nice. Did get a couple small prototypes made. Not good enough for pictures yet.
Not sure if I posted this live edge walnut bowl I made last week. If I did you get to enjoy it again. Lol!
Hope everyone stays safe and healthy!

good morning all
65 going up to mid 80's in clouds with rain coming in tonight
Rain that we surely need.

speaking of rain, big mistake not watering the pussywillow again before I left on trip.
Came home and dry ground had leached all the water out and plant was very unhappy.
I think it will survive but that really shows me how dry the ground is here.
So yes tonight, bring it on, I'd like a full inch please.

Ron, marvelous flower pic, very pretty.

Mostly, be careful of the heat on your rides.
if you start seeing mirages...

need to go deliver some cukes today.
hope everyone has a nice weekend

Good morning, the low is 59 and going up to 72°F. Wind SSE 8 mph. Rain showers and possible T-storms. Maybe 1/3".

At the least I got all the grass cut before the rain.

Next job in the cooler temps is either a screen door for the front or a hut for the hose reel and fire extinguisher or turn the compost or install the rear lights on the tractor.

IF the driver doesn't cancel out again today, then it is North Bay, today. This is a long weekend. It is Canuckistan Day.

Nice bowl, mpham.

Have a safe day all

Sounds like you're a good bear trainer. Just don't try to start into bear wrestling. 😁

71 and foggy...91% humidity. Temp wants to climb to 94.

Now that we finally got a nice rain Wednesday night, mowed nearly 3 hours to cut back the weeds. Then got a shower and went to Torchy's Tacos for lunch.

Their patio is dog friendly, and the taco of the month was Alabama Shakes...fried catfish with lots of fixins. One family with 4 kids kept Della occupied and happy.

that would have made quite a bang if you hit it Dennis, glad you saw it. Maybe put a ring of reflective tape on it if you are going to leave it.
If you pull it out, will oil gush out?...
your mowing pics with the drone are wonderful.
does make me wonder if you could make hay out of that

hay bailers always seemed seriously complicated and you had better be a good mechanic to own one.
lot of moving parts, though certainly less than a combine

I can see it now...BEF Oil Company.
That’s a possibility for one well. Dad just settled a 6 yr lawsuit out of court involving leasing rights under an old lease. He gets $$ for a new lease for new deep wells already drilled and partially in production Not sure the status of who owns the old shallow well and lease that was basis for them drilling. Our lawyer argued the old lease had expired years ago for lack of production and we were in very good position to win in court, so they finally came around to a good settlement.
One option is to plug the shallow well. Dad gets some “free” gas from it, but it’s very low volume and not dependable. If it becomes our well, plugging is best long term solution, as we know it didn’t produce enough to be worthwhile.

Another company now wants to put pipeline across the farm. Our lawyers just negotiated a survey agreement and will negotiate any pipeline. Current route looks like on the edge of farm.

But around 1900 there were 20 some wells on the farm. Last year natural resources was out looking to see if any were still unplugged. Not sure the outcome. You can’t tell where most were. Their records show most were plugged. There used to be a hole near where this pipe was hiding, I’m not sure exactly where. There is a concrete foundation still at this one. We used to fill with dirt, and it would settle more.
There used to be a pump house near our barn, that ran cables to multiple wells to pump them. I have at least one pic from 1940s that show it in the distance. There’s concrete there and pipes in the ground.
DNR has maps showing old well locations.

I did hit it. Yes, quite the bang. 2nd metal pipe I found with the new mower.
We stopped making hay 3-4 yrs ago when dad sold the cows. Making hay is lot more work. Current field we are mowing is old pasture.

Only 1 guess so far on the tree pic I posted.

72 outside this AM, heading into the 90's. Unstable weather is upon us. Could be some t-storms today, tonight, tomorrow. Need the rain, don't need the wind. Have another nice burn pile ready to go. Played pick up sticks yesterday.

Back neighbors property listed for sale yesterday. Two barns, one pole type, one stick built with a loft, house and 25 acres. Just under 7 figures. Their dad sold us our farm long ago. The kids never could work out the remaining properties between themselves, all had lots abutting ours. They all were not agreeable to each other and sold. End of a family story for this area. The old man tried really hard to keep it all together, now....that legacy is over.

I guess everyone gets to create their own story. Don't know why it sort of hit me as sad...history I guess, time just moves on.

Hope all have a great weekend. Be safe.
