could not figure out why water pressure was down, checked all outlets all over the farm, took a shower,
definitely not right, checked under crawl space and sure enough another broken plastic pipe, to the garden sprinkler pump again,
flooded entire crawl space of house, starting to leak out into back lawn. Waste of water plus another plumbing bill. Since it was his work that broke
the last time, and it broke again, I think his bill will be small...plus he is stopping what he is doing on July 4th and coming straight here.
Good thing since I have no water now. Glad I took my shower...

I think we are going to re-engineer this install so this doesn't happen again. I may ask him to come back and do it in steel pipe.

You may need a pressure regulator for your main waterline.

I'm thinking the vibration of the pump broke a fitting, but don't know on which side of pump is broken.
Good news is water to house is still on, just the second output to garden piping and pump, so with that side turned off, I have
water in house, all good. Sure glad we put in extra gate valves to keep that piping separate. But to water garden, need it fixed.
Big storms about to hit, plumber will probably arrive during a downpour, thought he'd be here by now.

A lovely sunny morning, with a clear sky expected for most of the day. Comfortable too, with some cooler northern air coming down and expected to keep it to no more than 21C/70F.

Warm weather has had pond plants growing like crazy. Swans and two families of ducks with ducklings don't seem to be deterred by the algal blooms.

72 and foggy, going to 89. Finally got a nice rain yesterday.

Lou, wonderful drawing by your daughter.

Eric, tranquil and only 70F...so nice.

Went to a friend's 70th birthday party yesterday...saw a guy I used to work with but not seen in 20+ years...great talking about old times and catching up. Friend had just gotten back from a vacation driving to New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and PEI...said the people were very friendly. He and his daughter had transformed an old school bus into an RV...really nice job. I'd never looked up close at a bus engine...huge Cat diesel...he said an oil change took over 9 gallons. He mounted solar panels on the roof, and it had a composting toilet. Daughter is heading to PA today and then Wisconsin...by herself, to visit friends.

74 going to 87 today, cooler temps, good chance of showers this afternoon that never showed up yesterday.

Plumbers coming back after work today with steel/iron pipe to replace plastic that malfunctioned. Interestingly the plastic output pipe was pushed completely out of the pump, and was not broken. Plumber thinks pump got hot, expanded and allowed pipe to get loose under pressure. But threads were not messed up...not sure how good his first install was...but at least house has water and if we get rain today, no need to water garden.

Admit I had fallen asleep by 9pm last night but around 9:30pm, was woken up by the locals, have no idea what they were shooting off, but it ended soon.
Glad the DC celebration went well.

Eric, nice picture. I have a pond back in the middle of the woods that has no road to it or easy access. Pics like this make me want to clear a road back there and uncover the pond for migrating birds to drop down to. Hope to get to that project this Fall.
