good morning, 70 going to 76 nice day much like yesterday

Changed out the smoke and Co detectors with ones that supposedly last 10 years without battery change. Split some more wood. Got it set up to drive into position really easy with the Kubota RTV. Quality machine and very smooth operation
Much like what PopG is talking about

youngest D is coming to visit today. Have a bunch of clothes and shoes collected to donate the rehab center

flowers coming out

Greetings from Prescott, AZ. Visiting my old friend Wylee. I know I’ve mentioned him many times in much earlier posts when they lived in Hawaii. Suspect we won’t get many more in person visits as he doesn’t fly any more and I don’t have any more trips planned to mainland in foreseeable future. But we have FaceTime.

Survived the graduation ordeal. Why anyone would want to live in that crowded mess, No Va, escapes me. Just too congested. Did enjoy eating out though.

Pretty much as expected, granddaughter will remain living at home to attend local community college vs our offer to come to Hawaii. Sad in that this is an 18 yo with the maturity of a 10/12 yo. Yet again she succumbs to will of her Mother while it appears her counselors etc recommended going to Hawaii. Sophie tells me time to let it go, but it’s tough when you want the best for your only grandchild. I likely overstepped my bounds telling son maybe he should seriously consider divorce and reclaim his life while still time. Ugggg.

Way behind on GM, just relaxing. Back to Mesa for another couple days with Sophies sister, always a great visit, then on to California where her other sister says she has a small list of things to fix before we head home next Saturday. Ahhhhh, to be home

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day.

Have not been enjoying the allergies that surfaced mainland.

Morning all, 69 to 80, had rain overnight.
Got a lot of weedwacking, along the trail and cleaned out the trench, again.
Got the pool ready for the teen invasion. They were in there until 12. I had them go to quiet mode at 10pm though.

If grass dries out then will mow the side fields. I did finally see a few small leafs on the Peach tree. Hopefully the Apples do ok.

Happy birthday to your daughter Kyle!

While the deer get kinda scared when my dog is out, they come right back when we move to a different area.

San Diego has traffic, I guess they don't visit LA often. East St. Louis, how is crime there now?

Be well,

Trench at half done, got complete a short while later,

Will you be bringing her back, or is she still thinking about the offer?

Sadly no.
Apparently the only person in the world against this is her Mother who wants her to stay home. Not a very healthy relationship in my mind. We will fund her tuition and books as long as she maintains a 2.5 GPA which may be a stretch, she finished HS with a 2.8.
Still many unknowns about her attending locally as it seems only the Mother has barely researched and I’ve come to believe has her HHUHA. I’m probably the only one with a clue as to cost. When asked how she’d get to school her Mom replied, Uber. When asked how much , $30+/day, to which I replied they didn’t that kind of money ( I still monitor their finances since helping getting them out of debt). Conversation went downhill from there. ☹️

Sorry to hear David, but unless you go the hard route, nothing will change.
Unless you can get them to think this is what they both want.

Good LATE Morning,
Ct, 58 to start going to 71 with light rain now. Rain stopping early afternoon, with some clearing!

Went to the early church service and then a side trip to Leslie’s Pool
supply for a new pressure gage. Came home from that and made breakfast for Kathleen and myself! When it stops raining I will install the new pressure gage on the filter.

Kathleen’s little garden looks good, she has some nice looking romaine and arugula lettuce that we should use soon, like this week !

Hope all have a blessed Sunday ! 🙏

David, you know the old meme where they compare men and women/girls....

I can tell you this as a "old father" with young girls. Even though my daughter is a very strong person, girls these days with social media have a really tough time. They want to just fit in and not be weird, but this causes them to be overly anxious, stressed, and depressed, depending on how things are going. I know some kids that can't even spend the night at a friend's home, due to anxiety or whatever. Some just feel they need their mother as much as anything. My relationship with my kids is not near where I want it to be, because I'm the enforcer, and teller of truths of life. Also because I'm always the oldest guy in the room for any school function or event. I pray someday they will realize I had words of wisdom. Sure, we want to just force things, military discipline style, and maybe that can work on some but most kids can't hack that.

Maybe she can make good enough grades to possibly transfer later, if she feels up to it. Our program requires 24 hours minimum and 2.5 GPA to transfer.

Prayers for your family. I pray God gives you wisdom and the right words to say to smooth things over. Hope your visit with your buddy is a good one.

Good morning! Low of a warm 59°. High expected to be around 86°. Cooler than the last few days which were around 95-98°. 50% chance for some t-storms this afternoon and tomorrow. We need rain badly.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ! to Kyle's daughter.

David, sorry to hear that your GD isn't taking your offer. Maybe for the second half?

Drew, have a safe trip. Are you staying in NM during the big trip? I'll grill up some burgers or if you're really good.... maybe some salmon burgers.

Buppies, hope you are able to get a better sleep pattern.

LFN (Bill), take it easy. You don't need to revisit the torture center....

Ken, you sly devil... taking pics of the pool when they left.... you need to get the 'embarrassing' pics to give to your son....

Paul, nice progress on the addition. I bet you are glad you found the missing plumbing run before putting in the heat pipes. Is the ramp solid concrete? Gets thick at the top.

I have completed 2 PT sessions. The doc initially said not much to be gained being it's been like this for almost 2 1/2 years. The therapist on the second visit said: "Wow! This knee is really messed up" referring to the tendons, muscles, and swelling. He was able to pinpoint the nerves causing the pain areas. Not much can be done.
The therapy goal is to build some strength and straighten some gait /walking issues. I am not hopeful......

We're in the middle of making dogfood, so gotta go..... Everyone have a great day!

76F, partly cloudy, and breezy @ 14:00, calling for a high of ... 75F ...

A little front came through late last night, winds blew but most of the rain stayed north of us. We ended up getting 0.01".

Got another week's worth of meds doled out first thing yesterday.

Nail removed from Kubota tire, thankfully it didn't puncture the tire clear through so no leak ... (y)

Got the screened compost I added to the eastern edge of the garden compacted down with the Cub and the Kubota. Saw one yellowjacket.

Decided to run down to Menards and pick up four more 5 1/2' t posts, grabbed some aluminum wire ties while I was at it.

Woman worked on watering while I was gone.

When I got back I drove the t posts in for 2nd arched trellis while The Woman held each side of the cattle panel back so I wasn't banging into them.

After that I got the panel raised up into position and secured in place while the Woman pulled the small cages on the Sunny Boy tomatoes. Then we put the larger support cages on them.

By that point the Sun had set and we were both tired so we called it a day.

I went to bed late but woke up early this morning, got up for a couple of hours and then decided to head back to bed.

Need to get moving now as daylight is burning.

Hope everyone is having a decent Sunday ... (y)

Ted, of course I am. (y)
I have two nights scheduled at Rt 66 RV park in Edgewood NM.
have a whole open day there to see the local sights if you are into that.
You just have to come pick me up.
sunday 9/29 getting in and all day Monday 9/30. I'd be glad to take you and your wife
out to an early dinner.

RNG, one night scheduled at Flying Flags rv resort in Buellton CA a week earlier
9/23/24 same offer, dinner is on me.

long call from my sister and BIL about route, they like my new one.
Some issue of whether I add another day and go see Grand Canyon.
I'd rather see some ancient Indian dwellings

need to get back to work packing rv. Less yakking, more packing.

My 2 cents: Maybe the offer should be you pay in Hawaii..Not in NoVa

Back home from the quick Farm trip to deliver a new Land Pride 6' rotary cutter to Dad, and to spend a day trying it out. Brought my broken one back, needs new gearbox. Truck still loaded, will take care of that tomorrow.
Our Preacher broke a leg yesterday making hay.

You could spend your whole trip in Arizona, New Mexico and Utah. You would not see it all.

Good Afternoon,
Well I finally figured out the pressure problem with the pool ! Today I pulled apart the filter canister for the second time. The first time the bottom of my nautilus was filled with nuts that the mice had brought in through the drain hole on the backside bottom of the filter. I put it all back together and was pretty confident that was my pressure problem !
Well it wasn’t ! 😒 Today I started thinking that the pressure is generating at the pump so I pulled the pump housing apart and put pours dozens of half eaten nuts ! 😳 Well that should cure the problem , right ? Well no, I had to pull it apart again and the pipe going from the pump to the control valve for the filter was also pretty well packed with nuts ! Finally I have the proper starting pressure of about 22 lbs ! Hooray ! And then of course my wife doesn’t want me to use snap traps, yeah right honey !

I'd rather see some ancient Indian dwellings
Drew, you might ask Ted, but my neighbor was telling me how interesting Chako Canyon is ! Not sure that is the proper spelling but it sounds very interesting!!

Hope all have a nice Sunday afternoon! 🙏

Maybe you can get yourself a couple of ball bearing mouse traps. Just don't feed them a lot. A hungry cat is a hunting cat.

I have found that a well fed happy healthy cat is an excellent hunter. They like to bring you presents for being so well taken care of. The cat can also be patient and not rush the kill/miss for a quick meal.
