Good morning!!!!

   / Good morning!!!! #95,011
you guys are making me hungry. Got most of my work done and now the rains are here for the afternoon.

I washed my big tractor, and Javier is working inside it doing the windows. Very hard to get to top glass, need to figure
out a cleaning method, that big steel grate really does get in the way. Plus now I realize I have to use the gutter attachment for my power washer once in a while to clean that whole area out since it's a dirt collector. Which I didn't realize until I climbed up on a ladder today.
I admit to being a clean windshield guy. Just wish they would figure out how to make interior car plastic without gassing or whatever is coating the insides of the windows. I'm sure the same thing in the tractor cab. Seems to lessen over time. Need to make it all out of flax and hemp so it's all
natural and you can eat your seat if you get really hungry...;)

Cut up a lot of beets today.

   / Good morning!!!! #95,012
We returned from our Bronx Zoo experience without incident Thursday PM. We got 75% of the Park in the two days there. The care provided the plants and animals is amazing. Great lengths were/are taken to create as much as possible non-zoo-like habitat for the resident animals. We really enjoyed the experience. The diversity of people was just as interesting as the animals on the other side of the exhibits. Luckily I brought the knee brace. Walking on hard surfaces and taking many steps took their toll on the knees/ankles. I am still using it now for a variety of reasons. I am/was awesome impressed with some NYC drivers; some should be on some racing circuit  Some had the cars to do it. We stayed in a fancy resort in Greenwich, CT. On the way back we actually ate lunch at that haunted Pub/B&B in New Boston, MA. We were not impressed; but the takeout barbecue we picked up for dinner later was really good eats. All in all we had a great time. We had beautiful weather during our getaway as well as here since our return.

A bigger bear is in the picture when we got home. Either this one or the little guy managed to slide the top off my "Bear Resistant" ashcan and retrieve ~ 30#'s of sunflower seed out of it. I am not amused, but I am impressed about how they managed to pull that bag out. I still have not found the bag.

My JD D130 was waiting in the driveway on our return. I spent 4 hours mowing the 3 acres that I maintain yesterday. 4 hours bouncing around led to many protesting joints and muscle groups

Today It was the dump & beer run and I planted our tomatoes.

It took a while to catch up with all the activities and experiences here. A lot of stuff both good and bad happens daily. I wish it could always be good stuff.

I hope all the good stuff keeps happening, those in rehab keep improving, the walking wounded keep walking; and the healthy remain healthy.

My + thoughts, wishes, and prayers.

Jay, glad to hear you had fun.
The diversity of people was just as interesting as the animals on the other side of the exhibits.

perhaps known as the human zoo? And we all get to walk around free. Until someone gives us the hook.

I think the bear population must be on the rise. I wrecked the front end of my truck on one at night a year or two back, and folks over in Hyde County
East of here say there are lots of bears. Things bigger than me with bigger teeth than me deserve a lot of respect.
I do not believe I can effectively communicate my peaceful intentions to a psycho bear. Carry a really big stick and walk away.

Drew- It's free admission to the Bronx Zoo on Wednesdays. There was a lot of "humanity." Considering the human congestion it was pretty stress free crowd-wise. A seems like a lot of thought went into that zoo's design to maximize human traffic flow. The zoo makes out on the shuttles and monorails which are not free. We probably could have made 100% of the exhibits if we could have better figured out accessing all the parking lots.

I think the bear population around here is fairly stable due to available resources and the area sees little to no new development to degrade/diminish bear habitat. Actually it's the reverse here; more people moving out than in. I need to check about the bear population out here. It does appear that there are more bear sightings in more developed/developing residential areas.

I hope that all of us manage to evade "the hook" for a long time.

Where exactly does one find a 57 pack of hotdogs? Or, is that three 19-packs? :D

I believe there where some combinations permutations of different brands and packs of Hebrew nationals that only had 7 hot dogs....Seems marketing doesn't like to equal the number of buns (8) with regularity.

I thought it was June 8th today. Like getting warmer and such. Took this picture a few minutes ago. Not sure how well it'll turn out but it's snowing hard enough I can't see my neighbor to the north. 400 yards.

Ahhh....New York.....I always enjoy the walks around the hospital seeing the people and the various eateries. Some fine sandwiches and interesting conversations in those little places.

Waiting for rhe rain here. Just trying to do some grilling before it comes.

Only 24 dogs and 7 burgers here.
LOL.

OH MY! We are under heat index warnings of 105-110F I would trade you some heat for some of your cool. How about you and CWB truck down a couple loads of snow?

I will prolly have some left over hot dogs.

Maybe not though, of my daughter's friends the one that is the skinniest of the lot, can EAT! I'm going to try and silently count how many hot dogs she eats....
