Jay is on one of his scheduled mini-vacations. I believe he is visiting the Bronx Zoo for a few days. Hope he doesn't get in any trouble down in the big city.....

69 going to 79. Got a total of just under 3 inches yesterday.

I put out little cocktail umbrellas for the hummingbirds to use yesterday...they refuse to let the rain deter them from emptying the 15 feeders we have

Phil, that new roof is looking good. Glad you're getting good weather. I picked up the air stapler at HF yesterday, so ready to start on our screened porch, if the weather would cooperate. I have some touch up painting to do before rescreening, but not sure it will dry out before next Friday. I may get a small window today, if I'm willing

BEF, glad your son is liking the Zero. I was reluctant to get mine last year, but now would never go back to a lawn tractor. .

Wow, 15 feeders. My dad puts out 3, and gets swarms of h birds.

I always wanted to screen my back deck, but need a roof on it first. My wife wanted it open, yet she never goes out on it. My original house plans for my permit was a covered deck. It and the fireplace got cut by budget, and never got done.

Glad to hear most of youz guyz are on the mend. I hope Randy is coming along. (Do they use a come along on you Randy?) Or just an old school "rack"?

BEF, I would have a bit of mowing envy too, having a brand new mower, then getting sick and having to let the kids do the "work".


Today is my oldest daughter's 14th birthday! We are blessed by the Lord that she is such a thoughtful, kind, and smart young person. She starts high school in August. She is having about 6-9 kids over today. I bought 57 hot dogs, I hope it's enough. You should see them eat! They can put it away fast.

My 89 yo mom is driving up to help with making red velvet cake and icing, and home made ice cream. 2 batches - Butter pecan brickle, and strawberrry.


Have taught the chihuahua to chase off the squirrels from the chicken feed. Pretty funny to watch. Little dog can scoot pretty good.

Ravens are pretty smart birds. Not sure what all that raven is up to on Eric's place.




Philosophy- while mowing, you want to be on a nice big smooth zero turn. But when you have to repair it, you wish it was a RER snapper. (at least in my case)

40 to start the day and cloudy, dark clouds.

It snowed down to the lower mountains just behind my house last night. Couldn't see any frost on the alfalfa, I hope it's OK.

67°F and cloudy this morning, going up to 76° today.

We had a brief shower pass though early this morning, but only enough to make things lightly damp. Rain is expected this afternoon, though, so I'm heading out to get a little mowing done before it gets here. Most of the rain has been missing us to the south as this system spins past us. We're on the back side of it now, getting the odd east-to-west moving rain.

Found the parts we need for the Husqvarna AWD push mower on Amazon and ordered them this morning. Side deflector broke at the hooks from bumping it into stuff, and one of the rear wheel adjustment knobs was broken when the Wife brought it home. Had more than enough point available to make them "free".
