Good morning!!!!

Rick-- Thanks for the link. Water resistant too. I sweat thinking about physical activity. Reading about everyone else's activities here leaves me exhausted, sweating heavily, and in need of a PM nap.:embarrassed:

Earlier this PM I saw a caravan of tractors of various brands and ages driving by. I guess there is a tractor exhibit at the Fairgrounds today. Sadly there was not the usual # of tractors :(, but there were a couple of decent vintage tractors on the road.

I'd forgotten about SSS until the earlier posts today Jay. I used the original SSS when I was clearing brush at our Fayette County Ranch back in the early 1990's. I was like a magnet for ticks and spiders until I discovered the SSS. The bottle ran out a long time ago and never remembered to replace it. I think I'll try the "new" stuff.

This is the clothing spray that I purchased, but have not yet applied. This chemical compound is safe around dogs; really nasty stuff to which to expose cats.

I am generally not fond of any kind of cream, lotion, spray applied directly to my skin excepting topical pain/inflammation products. I never cared for anything smelly.

We used SSS for years on our boat. The darn flies would bite your ankles whenever you were working at back of boat with fishing gear. I finally switched to Off Deep Woods. Them flies could bite. But not as bad as Black Flies.

^^^. Those biting flies are nasty, but I agree the black flies are worse. I always hated getting becalmed on Lake Piseco, NY. It always brought to mind the scene of Humphrey Bogart and Katherine Hepburn dealing with the biting/stinging flies in the "African Queen." I always carried a flyswatter. Hiding in the cuddy did not work.

I've been known to resemble "Mr. Potato Head" after a long stint tilling on the tractor.

since most days are spf70 days for me, now we have to apparently look at the ingredients on our sun tan lotions because I think
they are going to yank half of them from the market. Gosh we are sorry we gave you cancer while preventing skin cancer. Hmmmmm.
When I apply spray sun tan lotion to my arms and legs, which I do almost daily, when I start to sweat, feel like I'm hotter than normal, as if those
chemicals are keeping my skin from breathing. And then of course you get some in your eye...

96 degrees, had to come in, finished watering the garden, picked a fat pickling cuke and a nice small zucchini, the latter was given to my fireman
neighbor who came over and helped me change my whole house water filters. He muttered this isn't light as he screwed them back on and I chuckled saying that's
why you are here...I'm about four months overdo on changing them annually and I could tell my water pressure was going down. Bunch of black sand and grit on the botom of the sediment filter, works as advertised.

Since the carbon filter takes the municipal water supply chlorine out of the water,
I have to add some Clorox down the drains on the unused bathrooms as the water starts getting funky. Sure learned that living on a boat.
Nothing worse than funky toilet smells inside a very small room.

Am off tomorrow morning to pick up several jars of Bertie County peanuts to take North with me. Nice house present and easy to pack.
Though I am going to dig some small red potatoes on Wednesday for my 93 year old MIL who will enjoy them. She says she doesn't eat much anymore
which is a little worrisome. She sure will eat those chocolates I send her though...at her age she gets to do what she wants.

I don't see why the country folks would not like them. The group has a banjo, gittar and a fiddle. Got the laid back country beat. What is not to like?

I think kids were more in to Psychedelic rock at the time (1960's) and this was closer to Christian/Country rock. I was 18 when the album was released...more into country rock (hadn't discovered pot and other delights of the times) then...
This was also the time when longhaired hippies were frowned upon by most adults. I was never a hippie and never had long hair...I was also drafted (but enlisted in the Navy) later...
