28 going to 47.

Buppies, hope the healing is fast...that's a lot of work on the skin for one day.

Sodamo, I was gonna ask why Kekoa was looking so alert in the photo you posted...now I know...BEF was sneaking another burger. 😁 Looks like a great time.

BEF, enjoy your wonderful journey. We'll try to gen up some snow here for when you get home.

Brought in firewood and moved a pallet over for more splitting fun today. Cleaned out all the bluebird houses, did a little maintenance, and replaced one. Had to put up a new flag pole bracket...the extreme winds took the post down a couple of weeks ago.

MIL back to hospital. Wife was able to get her moved back to nursing home last night, and stayed the night...hoping to come home today for a visit.

31 outside this AM, heading to mid 40's. At least it is dry and sunny these past few days.

Nothing going on and the real job is back to the back of the list of things to do. LOL. Milk House got some furring strips back up and a few thousand nails pulled out of the walls where the metal mesh was used to parge the walls. I'll see if I can get some Durock hung today, but I don't have concrete screw handy.

Hope all have a great day, be safe in your endeavors.

Good Morning!!!! 46F and raining at 3:45AM. Mostly cloudy skies early, then partly cloudy this afternoon. High 58F. Winds WNW at 5 to 10 mph.

Productive day yesterday. Dropped van off for warranty work at the dealer, but dealer's internet connection was down. They won't be able to complete some of the firmware updates, or even sell cars, until it's restored. On the way down we found traffic lights either weren't working or were out all together in several towns due to wide spread power outages. The lights were on at the dealer, but apparently it's effecting network services.

Made it up to Chico, snagged a nice Mexican lunch, then grocery shopping, more boxes from HD, and back home. Lots of wet roads, but we missed the showers, and was finally able to put the cover on a dry car. Skirt steak was good for dinner.

More boxes means more packing today, and some loading as well. Already have 41 small size (HD and Walmart) boxes to load, but that's just a drop in the bucket.

not a good trip to greenhouse
electric heater on 750W setting all night
outdoor temp 23
inside greenhouse 20 :cautious:
ok, more power/heat to the people
ordered a tank top propane heater, 13k variable, that comes tomorrow
will give that a test.
I fed my last greenhouse heater with a 1000 gallon propane tank
doing this with 20 pounders sure is different
if 13k won't do it, ?
then time for a real greenhouse I suppose
I may be kidding myself thinking I can keep this warm

Morning all, 21 going to 43 and the sun is appearing
Got the last big panels cut and ready to go up, after that it's only trim.
Ordered an electrical box extension since one is too far in for my taste.

dresser/bed for son project delayed, he has a gig Saturday with his newer band.
PopGadget - pretty happy with my Combi Boiler- so far keeps up better than the old one and so far looks like 25% less oil. What fuel do you wan to run?

Drew -glad the dental work went well,

Great Hawaii pics!

Back to the day job
Be well

Good Morning Guys,
Deerfield Beach, 56 to start going to 68.
Hope to see a little more of the sun today than yesterday! Down to our last two days, but it’s time to get back to reality!

But I might add the food at happy hour,
prepared by David and several of his neighbors was very delicious.
Dennis, beautiful pictures ! Sounds like it was a great happy hour and get together with David ! We enjoyed our two weeks their last year ! First week on Maui and then the last week cruising the islands !

Drew, glad to hear that you got out of the dentist office with everything fixed !

Looking ahead, we are going home to some warmer temps but the following week will go back to normal !

Hope all have a great day ! 🙏

Not a Ron quality pic.
Ron's pix quality rocks-- no question.

25F and clear in Beautiful Northern Nevada this morning. The High Sierra mountains got 3 feet of snow recently, pushing the week's total to 5 feet. We were "behind" an average winter, and now are pretty close.

Hope everyone has a great day today !!!

Spent several days migrating digital photos from old computers, phones, etc. to a single network hard drive. OMG I have tens of thousands of pix. At least they are in one place now and somewhat loosely organized into folders.

There are far, far, far too many photos to evaluate individually. Anyone ever try photo management software that will do this automatically?

Good morning! 36˚F cloudless sky, wind changing from North to a South wind and 68˚ this afternoon.

It was just cold and windy yesterday so instead of garage cleaning I got a haircut at a new place, they were good but slow. It did not help that it was Monday around lunchtime.

Cards last night was well attended with 9 tables - 36 people. Won 2 out of 5 games of Hand and Foot. Maybe Garage today and getting tools together for Fence takedown party tomorrow at the county park - a real test for the new knee.

Good to see TBN members partying together. Thanks for the Hawaii pics BEF.

Drew Looks like you need more ideas on a plant starting set-up. May have to think outside the box. hmmm, a box with a plexiglass South sloping lid and heat, like heating pad underneath. Hmmmm.

Morning to all,
Nice day out 20F but the sun is shinning supposed to get up to 35 today and be warmer then normal through the weekend then later in next week a return to more normal temps. I hope the trees don't get to confused and start thinking it's spring only to get froze again. I see a lot of sap lines becoming active this last week. Hope they have a good season. As I really enjoy Maple syrup, not to enthused with the fancy grade A lights, I much prefer the darker stronger flavored B's or cooking grades even on my pancakes.

Drew, thinking back on the photo of your greenhouse was the covering a single layer of plastic?
Many of the ones up here have a second layer at least draped over the inner, the fancier ones will have a blower creating and maintaining an air gap between the layers of plastic. Many have switched to the polycarbonate sheets;

Lou, thanks, I had thin polycarb sheets on the last one and it worked well.
honestly not sure this will work and am concerned for inadequate light transmission
it got a lot of positive reviews, not sure for what...

if the propane heater can't keep it above freezing, not going to waste more time on it.

plants know real daylight vs grow lights. My plants with grow lights come straight up, but soon start
leaning towards the big windows inside, they know the good stuff is out there. Plus there's just more light out there.

got a nice thank you from my local school for donating the Sawstop table saw for their shop.
new teacher loves it, probably not much different from their previous Delta, but we spec'd the 3.5hp motor on this.
not sure the kids (max is 8th grade) will get much time on it, high school shop kids sure would.
but at least this way no one gets their fingers chopped off.

I dropped off a package of Blackwing colored pencils for the Art teacher this morning, so she wouldn't feel gypped...
have any of you used Blackwing pencils with the Japanese wax graphite core?

LouNY, you and me both. I have 2 Imperial gallons* of dark syrup and will be getting another gallon this spring IF the harvest is good. I consider the dark syrup to be #1 and all the rest # whatever. My family used to do maple syrup for themselves way back in the 1920s through 1950s. They sold the 100 acre maple bush in the early '60s.
I use it on pancakes, ice cream and cake (don't matter what flavour) that is a tad dry.
* 1 Imperial gallon = 160 ounces

64°F and .19 inches rain. Another wet one forecast.

Really neat to meet Dennis and his family. Wish we had a little bit better weather for his visit. A bit envious of the opportunities for Drew and others that have their rolling tours, but I do get lucky on occasion.

Not going to get to mow again, still to wet. Might have to rethink testing the fuel cap fix. Plenty of inside choices available.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

Ted, we need to talk about routes going North once I get off 40.
I can go further to other side of Albuquerque but first week in October,
do I have to worry about snow there? do I need to stay on big road 75 or
what about those smaller roads 14, 41 and 285?

funny there is a route 66 rv park in your home town, and I'm staying at route 66 park on other side of
Albuquerque. I can come to Edgewood, but then do I backtrack or take the scenic byway?
just HOW scenic?....

Well, I wouldn't want to stay on the west side of Albuquerque..... not the greatest area.... unless you're about 25 miles out of town....

This is one that opened a couple years ago, on the open plain, about 45 minutes East of Albuquerque, 15 minutes to us.

This is the nicest in the area, there are a couple about 5 minutes from the house, but they are very old, from the 50's. Not many amenities.

As for routes going north, 41 and 285 are 'wider' 2 lane roads, but very passable with an RV. That's the route that we take up into Colorado (hauling the 29' travel trailer) without any issues. They tie into I-25 in Santa Fe if you want highway travel due north.

Choose a route, then I can let you know what it would be like. There are a few very nice campgrounds with full hookups located at the casinos along the route. They have become popular with the 'non-gaming' RV crowd just because of the good food at the casino restaurants.

Good late morning! Low was 26°, heading to an unlikely 50°. Full cloud cover. Still only 39°. A chance for some sprinkles tonight, then good chances for rain tomorrow. Another good chance for precip on Friday. Fingers crossed.... again!

Drew, maybe the propane heater will work...maybe. We have a 1500W heater in ours (which is the double wall acrylic) and it barely keeps it 10-15 degrees warmer when it gets to 25° outside. Basically just to keep the seedlings from the previous season from freezing.

David and Dennis, thanks for sharing the pics of the meet and greet. Neat pics of the volcano. Someday we'll get out there......

Fritz, sorry to hear that you're GD has to deal with something like that. Too much of this happening in today's world.

Still haven't done any of my 'little' projects. Did a bunch of errands and grocery shopping yesterday. Took most of my energy for the day. Wifey said she would like the cabinet done before other projects, so I guess I know what I'll be doing today..... at least figuring out the cut list....

Hope you guys out west don't have to deal with any more flooding. Sad to see all the damage.

Everyone have a great day!

A little late for good morning

39 going to 42 with beautiful sunshine.

Picked up groceries and unloaded and packed away

Helo, have not been able to catch up with D yet. She must be busy. We usually get lots of pictures from her travels but her trip to Riga not so much. Again busy. Although she did send one from a restaurant in Riga with a lot of Soviet era weapons and one of her holding a side arm in one hand and a rocket in the other hand. Hopefully they were all made safe to handle?

On neighbors we have 8 adjoining our property and 7 with no problems. The problems were always related to new owners coming from cities.
How big is 5 acres Apparently they think it stretches way into our property. And smell and sounds of farm animals and equipment is always a problem for new owners One new neighbor originally from France wanted to make our property into a French Chateau. Had to tell him it is a Farm in America. The shooting neighbor finally went too far with his shooting episode at midnight. Shortly after that he hauled out his deer feeders and shelters and we have not heard any more shooting from him. Maybe police involvement?
And the latest violating permit for pond making the driveway into a river.

We get a good amount of planes overhead. A few passenger planes, but mainly military. 4 out of 5 times that I was flying back east, I didn't go over the house. The main airline flight path is south of us.

This happened on our flight last week, few rows ahead of us. We almost made emergency landing in Santa Fe. The person was ok when we landed. Saw him but didn’t know who he was.
