Good morning!!!!

   / Good morning!!!! #180,021
been working on my trip routes, looking forward to having coffee with Mr & Mrs Buckeyefarmer/Dennis at their home in Maryland on Wednesday.
Then I head South the next day and stop in Roanoke to have coffee with Buppies. Frits and Riptides were both tied up. Will get them another trip.
I want to do more shorter trips next year, so hope to spend time in Virginia with my brother and visiting folks.

these long trips are fun, but so much work to plan doing this by myself. Each trip I'm learning to slow down even more.
There is just no rush at this time of life.

I had a cruise to the Bahamas planned for February. Much too late I realized the suite I chose was under the dining area above and numerous online
reviews panning the room for excess noise. Not going to spend five grand to be kept up at night, I'm a light sleeper. So I called the cruise line and they told
me so sorry, no other suites left. 250 dollar deposit down the drain, but that's my error. Should have done better homework. Now you put your cabin number in youtube and someone for sure has reviewed it. Live and learn. So no cruise for me, that money should pay for rv trips next year. Honestly I booked it on a whim, and had second thoughts.
A week on a cruise ship all by myself, guess I could look for a rich widow...

an alternative use of that money is to winterize my garage, insulate it, bring more power to it, and finally have a wood shop I can use in the winter.
Car sits outside anyway. Phil's beautiful woodworking is motivating me to sniff some sawdust.

weather warmed up here, glad to leave on Tuesday in dry weather.

They Said that about a cabin I booked last year also. There was no noise. I think I would still go on the booked cruise. Can you switch to a junior suite?

Morning all, 35 going up to 58 and sunny
Got the leaves moved, took a few hours with the push blower and hand blower
Went over to a neighbors open house, he split his land in two and is selling one of the houses, he will make his money back for both houses just selling the one.

Gave dog a bath and took her for a walk at pedlars village so she could socialize.
Was a beautiful day for it her with temps around 70.
Pushed myself too much though and had to relax for a few hours, really felt it, still trying to adjust medicine

Happy birthday Mrs. Mostly !

Happy birthday to your son BEF and have a great lunch

Be well,

Road and yard look much better leaf free, but leave leaves (!) on some of the side yards and move some into the forest in piles for mulch. Clean out of the culverts partially done.

Good Morning Guys,
PC, 74 to start going to 88 ! Sunny skies, not as much wind today !

Happy Birthday to Mrs. Mostly 🎂

Kilroy, nice job on your shed insulation! How big is your shed ? My shed that I put my Model A in is 12’ by 20’. Should have gotten the 24’ long unit, my wife is loading one end with toys that the grandkids use during the summer months ! 😭
I am thinking of doing the same thing ! What are your plans for interior sheathing ?

Hope all have a wonderful day ! 🙏
The shed is a 10x16, it is the biggest we could get delivered to that particular spot on the property. The interior is getting covered in rough-sawn unfinished boards from our sawmill, primarily poplar but I may mill up a little walnut for visual variety.

doc done, shopping done, now headed out for apples.
got email from friends in Lancaster I am/was visiting tomorrow. Her Mom passed away last night so
that got cancelled. Now nothing to do in Lancaster but I'll still go there the first day.

pretty day out, leaves fluttering down

decided this seat was more comfortable and haven't moved...
plus I was investigating a different route, the true byways, to get from Front Royal VA
to Penhook VA. Normally you just go down I-81
but oh boy does that look nasty right now. I zoomed in and it looks like the road is closed, and diverted to another parallel
road for a little while. Any kind of major construction on that road is stressful due to incredible number of trucks on that road.

So...plan is to stay off 81 and come down 29 to Penhook on the byways.
If it says four hours, I'm figuring five. Maybe even stop someplace and get a good picture.
you Virginia gentlemen, anything on 29 worth looking at?

doing my best to stay off interstates, but want to stay on nice roads.

now off to get my apples. Some for Dennis and some for Randy.
I try to make an assortment of six or seven different types of apples.
They have about 20 now. All right off the tree. I always buy too much...
2.50 a pound and I usually demolish a 20 going in there. Some of these apples are
physically large, those I only get one of, too much to eat, but then get multiples of the smaller ones.
if I can remember, I'll take a pic inside
if I remember. sigh

I suspect it will be open in a little while, haven't seen why it's closed yet.

my new gun

bet that's something you never thought you'd hear me say...

figured one of these loaded with the pepper balls would up my game from my
20 foot pepper spray. I think this is rated for 60 feet. Has manual sights.
haven't looked at the top rail, don't know if it can take a laser sight. Looks like that might
go on the bottom, not like I know much about this.

since I'm going to his home, maybe if Buckeye will set up a few tin cans, we can try our target practice.
comes with a bunch of practice balls and extra gas canisters, plus pepper balls and what I guess
are hurts like a son of gun balls.
like all firearms, hope I never have to use it.
need to read the directions carefully, showed up this afternoon in time for the trip.
no licenses in any state
no time for it today

I've shot a handgun once in my life. They give me the willies. This plastic pepper ball launcher
pushes my peaceful comfort level a lot.
But I think our world is changing and I'll feel a little safer with this.

in case I hear strains of Deliverance wafting through some rural campground... ;)

If nothing else it may provide a bit of visual deterrence when unholstered. It beats a rape whistle…

My FIL buried there, we have lots there. Lots of Lincolns lived and buried there. Abrahams Grandfather lived close to there.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY! To Mrs. Mostly. Hope she enjoys many more.

Drew, have a safe, enjoyable trip! Seems like you might get some really nice weather.

Dennis, happy belated birthday for your son.

Fritz, hope your wife continues to feel better. It is crazy how medications can affect you when you stop taking them.

RNG, hope you have a better trip down south this time.....

Drywall done, texture done. Electric is 98% done.... have to turn off the power for the last install --- a ceiling fan. That will get done tomorrow, and hopefully a start on the wood floor.
The knee has been complaining the past couple of days, after seeming to get less aggravated for a few days ---- it was short lived....

Still have to figure out a good time to go to the sawmill. Probably on Wednesday. Might just take a 'personal day' to make sure I get there......

So, my cardiac med was running out.... called for a refill --the Dr's office renewed it for 2 weeks, wanting an annual office visit. Went on line early last week to request an appointment. They finally called today..... they are scheduling into January......
But... they sent scripts to cover until then, I guess the least they could do.....

Everyone have a great evening!

Nice day today.
Fiddled around in AM, mostly computer stuff. Then took son to late lunch at sons choice of new chain place called Firebirds. Limited menu, we all got burgers. They were very good, just pricy. They have steaks and other stuff. Returned a roll of zip tape I didn’t need.
When we got home I started cleaning up my office. She doesn’t touch my office (but she does dump stuff in there sometimes). She said something like you should have invited Drew to visit years ago if it gets you to clean your office. 😂
Cleaning is mostly organizing or moving stuff someplace else out of sight. 😂
It’s way better than it was, but still very messy, but progress.
Tomorrow I need to blow or mow leaves again. Also want to caulk and seal the unfinished chimney flue and ash dump that are stubbed up from the basement foundation. I keep a board on them, but will caulk in place to seal it.
Drew, have safe departure.
I81 is open after the accident.
