Good Morning!!!! Good Morning!!!! 54F @ 6:00AM in Orcutt, CA.
Partly cloudy skies. High 82F. Winds W at 5 to 10 mph.

Bandages looked good under the white fishnet, Don, sorry they didn't work out. Maybe your knee is asking you to ease off a bit? Hope you get some relief now that the staples are gone.

My buddy and I got everything loaded for the trip south on Wednesday, including a 1775 lb. piece of equipment loaded on a rented tilt deck trailer I'd picked up that morning. Went easier than we thought. Got a comfortably early start yesterday on the trip down. Remembered to cancel the traction control on the van for the trip up the driveway, and made it up with no problem at all. It was smooth sailing until a tire on the trailer suffered a blow out about 2/3 of the way there, way out in the middle of nowhere. Shredded the tire, and sparks from the steel wheel and trailer axle dragging on the pavement started a grass fire at the side of the road. Fortunately the fire department was able to confine it to about a 1/4 acre, though we had to move the van and trailer a couple times to stay ahead of the flames. And there was a dirt road running parallel to the freeway that kept the fire out the adjacent pistachio orchard. There were thousands of acres of them in that part of the drive. Finally got a wrecker to come for the damaged trailer, and a driver from the rental company, Herc, to come over from Bakersfield with a replacement trailer. Transferred the load by the side of the road, in the dark, and finished the trip at about 11PM. The trailer rental was originally set up for a week so as to allow us to make several trips, but I don't think the single axle replacement trailer is up to the job, and I don't want a repeat of what happened yesterday. So we'll return that trailer to the Herc branch here today, and see if we can get a double axle tilt deck to take back with us for the next two runs. Can't wait to see the bill on this misadventure.

Come to think of it, Herc used to be called Hertz Equipment Rental, and the last trailer I rented from them had a blow out when I was dragging home the Kubota side-by-side. That trailer had two axles, so I was able to take off the bad wheel and get home. The grumbled something about charging me for the tire and I pointed out that it would not have been a problem if they hadn't put a cheap Chinese tire on the trailer to begin with.

Now just gotta get my buddy up outa bed without coming off like a slave driver...

TGIF gang.

Good morning, low of 33°, heading up to 65°. Sunny and dry.

RNG, quite the drive this time! Hope they don't hit the wallet to hard..... Hope you can swap it out for the dual axle.

Phil, I bet that bowl breaking was a quick shock! Good that you just got a minor injury. Does that happen often?

I was procrastinating disconnecting all the drip valves.... being that the temps only stay at freezing for a short time... wrong decision..... found 2 split valves yesterday. Hope that I learned a lesson......

More mudding of the drywall is on the agenda for today. Only 6 more corners to do.... then a second coat.... then the texture. Probably going to do a 'skip trowel' finish. Using the hopper texture gun more than likely won't end in a happy ending ---- I can see that drywall mist floating in the main house..... and the relevant loud yelling that would ensue....:rolleyes:

I am very disappointed with out trees changing color this year. They started, but then those 2 really cold nights stopped the change.... now they are just "freeze dried" -- crunchy but no color.

Everyone have a great day!

successful trip getting pcv valve and hose changed in rv.
I think it was the valve, hose looked fine, kept it as a spare.
could not go fast enough on way home to tell if whistling whooshing noise gone but
I will be cautiously optimistic it was.
looked good inside, dry, and pretty clean

filled the bags too full in bagger yesterday, luckily did not back too far up the pipe

54F and sunny @ 12:30, heading up to around 59F for the days high. Supposed to be breezy this afternoon.

Started rebuild/reassembly of softener valve yesterday.

Will likely use the nice weather today to get more strawberries planted in the ground.

Woman wants to continue mulching the flower bed so I'll need to bring some mulch around, only 7 bags left.

Hope everyone is having a decent Friday ... (y)

68°F and no rain.

Not very productive yesterday. Evaluated a couple reorg solutions without making a decision. Guess I’ll do that today. My shelves are populated with a variety of enclosures to hold stuff like nuts, bolts, screws, tape, etc. some stacked 4 high meaning I have to move 3 to get to the one I want. Think I have what I need to make a simple rack solution.

Guys won H&F after a delicious meatball and spaghetti dinner.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

Ron, years ago I used a GPS program on my iphone to determine speed in my golf cart. Not convenient, but fun. Let us know about this solution.

I bought this to hold storage bins. Another unfinished job, as I haven’t mounted it yet. I want to put on a cart with casters to store it under my work table.

It's not unheard of but shouldn't happen if you pay attention and use good technique.
Things go bad when you rush or get distracted.
It has happened to me maybe 5 or 6 times when I first started out and didn't know better.

Been on hold an hour waiting for Dish Network customer service, or lack thereof. The music is most annoying.
Did get netting fence down from around the garden. Zip tape is still elusive, so I ordered a roll from amazon. I wasn't comparing the same type the other day, but they are a couple bucks more than lowes, but didn't feel like a trip just for that. wasted much of a nice day. Did locate a ft stick of 3" pvc pipe stuck up in the basement ceiling, but did not retrieve it.
turned pellet stove off today.

dish offered to lower my bill from $118 month to $68 month for 1 year, plus next month only $28. Not sure I believe them yet, will have to see the bill. Talked to kevin in India.

Ahhh, unfinished jobs…I can relate.

I have a box of something similar. Can be mounted in single rows. Unfortunately I don’t have any readily available wall space.

So this gives an idea of my starting point.

So I’m putting together some frames for the plastic bins to slide. Glue will have to dry overnight before I stress.

I have dishes in 2 locations on one account. I just don’t tell them otherwise. I own my equipment.
However my box stopped working at least 2 yrs ago. I rarely watch tv anymore, so I’ve only kept it going for my dad to watch.
