Good morning!!!!

   / Good morning!!!! #177,562
Morning all 52 going up to 72 and sun is up, waiting for the weekends rains.
Got another sheetrock panel up after a few hours of cleaning the garage from minisplit install and painting a few things for the wife.

Old boiler scheduled for removal on the 16th of October, it just does not want to leave

Got last of the figs, deer, wasps, birds all having a field day over by the fig tree.

Stay safe Drew

Sorry Buppies - prayers sent, would hope they can manage with medicine......

Safe travels L4N

Happy Anniversary Kiljoy!

Congrats on the new car Popgadget

I have very good hearing, if 2 conversations or more I have trouble following any conversation.

The new boiler throws off almost no heat at all, the basement is much cooler. It is barely running now for hot water, hoping this saves a lot of oil.

Gas mod grade $4.55 this morning

Be well,
Thjank you! 😂🤣😂

Just waiting on everyone to get ready. Still need to load clothes and food in camper.

Be well,
I don't recall if you mentioned the brand of boiler you installed.
If you don't mind, I'm curious as sooner or later I know that mine is going to start to leak.
Thanks.

Perhaps break it into two contracts and let the plummer do piping stuff only
We have made that clear to all who show up....

All job, part of job, part of part of job.

At this point, I may start busting out the inside myself and worry about the septic hookup later.

I just want this project off my plate.

It was like this with electricians too, until I found the guy. He has made more money off us than the original project. And I will call him out again for other stuff.

Business must still be good.

The system is an Energy Kinetics Ascent with a TX40 40 gallon external storage tank.

We could not go completely tankless due to the Solar hot water using antifreeze in the system up to the panels. So the external tank is the water mix and sense to tie the systems together.

this is becoming a humdinger of a storm as it develops and the weather rhetoric is ratcheting up. And it's coming inland; I looked at my brother in VA weather forecast and he has rain for a week.
no crops will be coming in with this for awhile.

I could have used one of your blasting helmets a few minutes ago.
As soon as I crested the rise to get on the beach, I got a faceful of wind blown sand. Lots of it. The steps and walkways were covered. Wind is off the ocean and blowing the beach sand inward.
No way anyone could be on the beach without a full face helmet.
I quickly took two pics and hurried back.

Drew is it safe for you to stay?
be careful
yes, thank you
much less safe to leave
no where to go, this storm is coming up the coast, no where to run
it's a tropical storm, not a hurricane, and rvs get dicey at 75mph.
this will not gust over 50. If power stays on, Verizon has four bars here so my internet works and I have lots of food.
I'm in the middle of basically a concrete parking lot in the lee of the dunes.

my only thought might be to bring in the slide, but it's a really small slide with a small slide topper. It's the topper I don't want to blow away but I checked it and it seemed fine. I am checking around the floor near the slide and no leaks, those rubber seals are doing their job.

I had thought about staying in Washington, but I'd be under pine trees and the system is going right over that area. So nothing to be gained.

this is fine, what I expected. Next time I'll bring a face mask...actually a set of swimming googles would be good, though I wound up with sand stuck to beard stubble

this wind blowing in off the ocean is creating real problems for inlets, bays and rivers, blowing the water upstream and flooding will likely be widespread. My friend in DE said Milton was already putting down sand bags.

67°F and .13 inches rain.

Very good day mowing yesterday. Drive, Laupahoehoe end of property done. If wx cooperates hopefully the Hilo end can get done today.

Pool temp chilled a bit to 78°. Getting hints that fixing the heater should become a higher priority.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

No crops left to be harvested in my area of VA Drew....too dry for too long.

Stay safe....50mph is of concern for winds.

Gee Scott....your a few steps ahead of me. Bad timing on my part closing pool. With the wet weather coming I imagine lots of cleanup before closing. Bad on me....scheduling.

wind and rain picked up even more, looks like worst of it now through tonight. I pulled in the slide and it helped reduce the rocking a little.
but now wind has picked up even more and the jiggling continues

two large fifth wheel trailers came in together right near me. Those poor folks who had to set up for at least half an hour outside in this downpour.

I'm catching up on a good book and taking an occasional nap to the sound of rain pounding on the roof. Pretty nice actually.

We got set up along the river. We at least 40 ft above the river, so no flood danger. Just over the hill from where we almost bought land.
Train tracks across river is the train we are riding next month. It went thru right after we pulled in, so I didn’t actually see it but it was whistling for a crossing.
Nice breeze today. Too bad weather will get wet
Cows across the river, some in the river.
My mobley internet works, cell tower in sight up on the hill above the river.

Good Afternoon Guys,
Mike, I am guessing your pool water temperature is not down to 72 like mine was this morning, but I can certainly understand your concern over the storm thats coming through. I finally got all the lines blown out, plugs installed on all inlets and outlets and finally got the cover on. I did that by myself, which every year I say this is the last year I can do this, but always manage to do it one more year ! :ROFLMAO:

Drew, some nice beach pics, sorry you had to get sand blasted to take them !

BEF, also some nice pics, looks like your weather is a bit better than Drew's !

Everyone enjoy your afternoon !

Could be a good approach. Find someone to do the concrete busting, rough digging as prep for plumber. It could be that a concrete guy could just cut and remove enough concrete to make it easier for the plumber?

Thinking about my dilemma a few years back having to replace gas line under the driveway. Solution ended up being renting a concrete saw to cut a narrow path, remove, then dig down. It was work, but proved the better approach. I just bricked in the trench where I suspect you would permanently repair.
