Good afternoon! Low was 48° last night, first time we didn't turn on the whole house fan this summer. Should stay in the upper 40's, low 50's for lows for the next week. Highs in the upper 70's.

Rain chances are diminishing over the next few days, drying out by Sunday. The 1 1/2+ inches we got yesterday won't last long.....
That amount was the most we have received at one time all year. Matter of fact, that was half of the total all year...2.97".... leaving us 3" below normal.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY! to Mr and Mrs Ken. Hope you have many more!

When we had our pool back east, I used stuff called "soft swim".... a hydrogen peroxide based pool chemical. No eye burning, made your skin feel soft. Easy once a week treatment, no shocks needed--- except initially opening. Not sure if it's available any more.....

Buppies, hope the results come back good. I hope you can get relief soon. Seems never ending. You've been through enough already!

RNG, have a safe trip down south. Since you're a glutton for punishment, hook up the trailer to the van and load that too!

Drew, are you leaving tomorrow? Should have nice weather for the trip.....

Thomas, hope you got a nap.....

Got an early start this morning and got the entire porch roof disassembled and stored. It will be repurposed on the back of the house once the front deck gets repurposed to the back. Actually went faster than anticipated.

The deck disassembly will begin tomorrow. Far more screws to remove.... and they are phillips... so might take longer.
I got really, really spoiled using the star drive screws. I won't buy any other type screws now.

I got the exact measurement for the metal roof length for the addition, needs to match the existing house roof. Will get the metal ordered. Need to take a piece of the ridge cap to the supplier so they can match it..... I had them custom make it with longer "edges" when we built the house.

Everyone have a great evening!

Got everything I wanted done and than some so no nap.

Plans for evening raid apple crip top off with vanilla ice cream extra gotta share. :)

Enjoy your evening all.

Weboost fix broke again. I was raising the coax to put on strain relief and it moved, so not soldered good.
I did get room a little organized and vacuumed.
Got trailer hooked up for tomorrow.
Picked a few tomatoes, they are done as they start to rot before they even ripen. Wife picked over peck of green peppers. I pulled more crabgrass from area I just did recently. Took deer fence gate off the garden, as peppers only thing left. Something ate green bean leaves last week, noting on game camera, but it only catches the end of the row.
Did decide we are going to Hawaii next year. So spent time talking to oldest son about that. Plan to spend 5-6 days on Oahu and 3-4 on big island.
Not looking forward to the airline hassle.

Good Evening
Busy day, trip to Portland, ME to start off. Beautiful day up there.
Got home, helped son with some chores, we covered the pool, did a little RC flying and called it day after I got the trash and recycling to the street.
Happy anniversary Ken!
TSA is coming to visit tomorrow, hopefully that will wrap up this project.

Fishing was a success We got 3 tarpon and some redfish. Only one redfish was a keeper.

I caught the first tarpon. They figure it weighed around 50 to 60 lbs. Second tarpon caught was similar size.

Last one was between 80 and 100lbs.

The two I got were the largest I've ever caught.

Great pictures glad you are having fun
Freaked me out yesterday when I got off the plane. When I switched my phone from airplane mode I had a text from my chauffeur

That's something I'll probably never get used too.

Gotta get packed and get some sleep. Getting picked up at 6am to head back to the airport to head home.

Good (Friday) morning. Overnight Low of 8.1C and it's presently 21.7C, fairly clear with a bit of a breeze that's expected to increase during the day. It's still a bit smoky from the reduction burn.

Good trip to Launie yesterday. I got there and parked with a good hour 'in hand' so I was able to have a non-rushed lunch and stop at one shop to purchase a 'needed thing' prior to the Optometrist appointment. Plus a Christmas present for my Brisbane mate jumped out at me... they even wrapped it in Christmas paper.

Optometrist appointment went very well. My spectacle lenses have slightly changed so I also ordered a couple of new pairs (one reading and one bifocal for the computer). My private health pretty much covered that.

On the way home I stopped at "Bunnings" and picked up a few more 'needful things' (one doesn't head into the 'Big Smoke' without making it worthwhile). I got home at around 1730.

The 'Mad Agisting Horse Woman' has just dropped off one of her horses into Paddock #1 as her Daughter and her horse are doing an endurance ride (her first 40km) early tomorrow.

That's about it, nothing else planned for the day. Take care all.

Have to be honest that potential cost savings wasn’t a major factor in my pool conversion. If I were to attempt citing a cost factor it would be a total SWAG as I just never kept track. Good match for my maintenance program. Being as this is a year round pool I suspect I use more chemicals
What I do hope to achieve is stability with minimal daily involvement as well as increased comfort. The conversion process besides the chlorinator also includes a WaterGuru to monitor and robot cleaners. That all makes the upfront costs on the high side. 39k gallon pool. Would take a lot of chemical savings to get to $3k. Today the WaterGuru reported chlorine up a bit to 3.5 so perhaps I can turn down chlorinator. Reported ph at 7.7, down from yesterday but still high. Will check again tomorrow before adding acid. WaterGuru says to add 4 cups.
Sophie says her pool is looking really good.

Three things I try to avoid when raining:
Ladders
Metal roofs
Electricity

As this project involves all three I am done for the day

Small panels removed, frame modified to accept the ready to move medium panels and now rained out for the day.

Guess that makes me about half done. Probably a good thing I don’t get paid by the hour.

Coffee is brewing. 45° with partly cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 69° with mostly sunny skies. Grocery shopping went well. Shelves were full. Then I came home to solve a problem with electric power company. They had stopped using auto pay for my monthly payments. Took an hour on the phone to solve problem. Will see if Auto Payment happens today as promised. Took Sassy in for grooming. She looks so cute after getting groomed. Then did some more cleanup in shop. Going to put rolltop desk out in front of house. See if someone that is attending Estate Sale across the road wants it. Then see what else shows up.
Praying Mantis.

Good morning! 74˚F heading to only 80˚ with a good chance of rain.
Has anyone been required to get a medallion guarantee signature? They are not easy to find and I need one for probate. I'm learning a lot of new terminology in this probate assignment.

Still transferring items and organizing for the Estate sale, I'm getting a little closer to seeing the end to the gathering and organizing of the items worth selling in the sale. The liquidators said that dinning room furniture, dishes and church pews do not sell at estate sales and we have all three in the sale.

I just hope it rains before and after the sale to give the cows more grass going into the winter.

Ron the hardest job is coming up with a price on items to sell. What price did you come up with for the roll top desk? The liquidators motto is you can always come down on the price but you can't go up so over price everything and then have a 50% off sale the last day.
