Good morning!!!!

nice to be home with nothing left to do today
waiting for strong thunderstorms around dinner time
850 bucks for an oil change, wiper blades, front disc pads and a radiator flush.
it was fronts that were worn, at 51k, they said rears had almost no wear.

the line item prices are "fun" to read
162 bucks for a pair of brake pads
7 bucks for brake cleaner
10 dollars for brake grease.
maybe I should have asked for the rest of the grease they didn't use, like 95%....
and they retorqued front and rear suspension. That sounds good....

car ran fine going in, ran fine coming home. Mission accomplished.
they threw in a nav map update for free, that was worth something.
I want to keep this car so don't mind routine maintenance.

hope you all have a good evening.

Wind..thunder...and no rain. Seems to be a few miles east of us.. yesterday it was west. Been putzing around most of the AM. Sitting on the front porch drinking water...hoping for rain. Probably will close pool next week for season...no rain...not using well to keep the water level up. Crazy weather. 🤪

Afternoon all!
Hot and humid 83 here.
Storm last night gave us heavy rain thunder, lightning and power out for about 5 minutes. Today has been off and on clouds but no rain.
Spent the day helping my cousin perform a bunch of small niggling jobs that need doing but no one wants to do!
Got a new wheel for my attached mower after someone(me) forgot to lift it up and it caught on a wall.
An 80 dollar lesson for me!
Keeping busy in the woodshop as it's just to hot to work outdoors.
Looks like after 10 or so years of planning we will finally be going to Niagra falls in a few weeks. Going to stay 3 or 4 days and go to both sides.
Medically we are both pretty much the same.
Hope everyone enjoys the weekend and stays safe and healthy!

My first year fig crop (8 figs) produced just enough figs for half a batch of fig newtons.
It only got up to 103 today because of cloud cover, however our 30% chance of rain went to 20% now it is 15%.

David, use a small syringe to apply some 2 part clear epoxy under a stereoscope, maybe cyanoacrylate? I'll let the RC guys chime in.

Peach pie with homemade vanilla ice cream. Yumm.

New Mexico governor needs to get sued. Class action. against her, not the state. Take away her stuff.

I think I’ve got a tube of that UV cured stuff somewhere.

Looking pretty dark and wind is up so slight change in plans.

Started to mow front and the grass was coming out in clumps so jacked it up and now about halfway through cleaning the underside of the mower deck.

BLT’s should be about ready.

Will finish cleaning it after I eat and then back to mowing.

70F and cloudy @ 12:30, heading up to around 74F for the day's high. A stray shower or thunderstorm is possible (15% chance)

Shut off the AC last night, hopefully that's it for the year. Heading for the big cool down this Wednesday, high temp only supposed to reach 63F.

Refilled storage containers for the safflower and sunflower seeds first thing yesterday, then got hopper and two tube feeders refilled, also scattered cracked corn for the ground feeders.

Loaded up used cat litter and compostables in the dump cart, took compostables up to the pile and dumped them, then put some more screened compost in the cart for potting more runners.

When I got back down to the house I used the cat litter to fill in an old burrow entrance on the east side of the house that the ground hog recently dug out.

After that I started working on potting more strawberry runners. Got maybe another 25 - 30 done. Ran out of the aluminum chain link wire ties that I was using for pins.

Did some clean up of debris on the weed barrier fabric in preparation for melting more holes for strawberry plants.

Woman grabbed a Little Caesars pizza for dinner on Her way back from dropping off the neighbor at work and then made a peach pie for dessert ... which was delicious:

Overnight low was 61.2F, good open window sleeping weather.

Winds seem pretty calm today so may ignore the (slight) chance of rain and get back to spraying various areas.

Possibility of doing some watering/feeding so the Water Buffalo can be refilled.

Have some flowers that need planted as well.

Otherwise see what else comes up.

Hope everyone is having a great Saturday ... (y)
Only one pie 😳 ;)
