Decided to tackle a multi project in back of house. Top sliver of siding blew off years ago. It has been laying by back door, was all dirty. Got it cleaned up using wire brush and water and put back up. Also put gutter guard on that short section as leaves are starting to fall, it’s worse one to clog. Pain getting guard up under shingles, they are sealed good. Then put up box for the back camera, which I’ve had an Ethernet cable waiting on the inside for years. Got it all up and camera didn’t work. Camera Was working in temporary position inside, but feed with 12v supply instead of POE. Seems to be a POE issue.
So I just ordered a new camera that also takes SD card, they are pretty cheap now. This will capture the deck.

I tried to get some photos, but the photo would streak out real bad. It was pretty at 5am this morning when I was out walking the pooch.

Starlink has been working great. Got the email yesterday that they've already upgraded us from "Best Effort" to full Residential status. So, I did a speed test, and it was at 130Mbps download.

I got speeds like that two years ago when I first got residential service. Just ran a speed test and got 35 Mbps down and 12.5 Mbps up. Still works for almost everything I do, but large file transfers (software updates mostly) are a big sluggish. Still much, much better than anything that ever came down any of the other satellite based pipes in the past, though.

Heck I'm on Starlink also and a previous post had a picture that loaded like I was back on dialup.

Basic Starlink test showed 12 down, 5.6 up. Then ran the advanced test, get 32/10 device to router and 145/12 from router to Starlink.

My starling varies between 100+down to 3.5 down, depending.

seems to average between 8 and 25.


Still far better than the DSL we had this time last year!!!!

Mike, what are you using to break up the chimney? Tiring work I’m sure.

Hammer...chisel...and when not space constrained...sledge hammer.

The bricks are actually easier than the walls that are parged cement of some sort.

Not too many left now...but I ran out of steam cutting the cement walls to get at them.

I need that space for a water heater. I just needed a few more inches.....seriously....

68F clear sky upper 40's over night.

Been good day...errands in town were trim main lawn area than mow.last pass I forgot to raise the mower deck hit tree root strong noise than quiet down and no vibration no signs of bend blade,guessing spindle needs a lookzzz.

Headed for the deck soon kittens are waiting also,critter and stars might have smooth cigar.

I used that website once, and it told me one of the stations in town had E0. Went there, and they did not.

I never liked those NoSpill cans, but I've been using them because they've been the best option so far. I had one split along the side handle a couple years ago, and another has split this year along the top handle seam.
Man, my kingdom for a decent gas can (and real gasoline).

thanks for the prayers for my son. We are giving him ibuprofen in the morning before school, and when he gets home, to ease the inflammation. He's able to hobble now reasonably well, but he says it still hurts. His first football game is Tuesday the 5th, I don't think he's going to be able to play.

Been doing my best to keep the bird bath full out front. In the last few days, we've had maybe a dozen bluebirds arrive. They love the bath, but not so much the birdseed in the feeder. They will swoop down from a branch and chase small grasshoppers and bugs.

Still at 3 chickens. They have stopped going in my barn, so they may get to stay after all.

Have some cad/cam homework, need to make a part on a cnc lathe with live tooling (which means it can mill too). Another post to tweek.

Had a lunch meeting with Raisin' Canes chicken tenders. Was able to bring home a bunch. Good bonus. Got a 5% raise. Sure could've enjoyed a bigger raise, but if there's a silver lining, my salary is just under a threshold for my daughter to get more student financial aid.

David, glad Sophie back home. I know you guys let the gals win, just so there can be shalom in the home.....just kidding.

Todays finds, metal gasoline cans, boat, kitchen sink and a loading dock antique scale. Finished up when it hit 100˚, on the way home it got up to 103˚

Good (Saturday) morning. Overnight Low of 3.3C and it's presently 16.7C, fairly clear and mostly calm.

I don't know what I'll get up to but it's a beautiful day out there.

Got another 16 potted strawberry plants from runners trimmed off and planted in the ground + another 10 runners pinned into pots to start. Lots more runners still to do.

Now out of holes so will have melt some more in the plastic at some point in the future.

Sloppy joes, Mac salad, and fresh corn on the cob for dinner, was very tasty.

Kilroy, you sure do find some good stuff! When back east, we used to enjoy going around to 'barn sales'..... used to find all sorts of good stuff.... not to many interesting things to be found out here.

Started unloading the materials this morning..... about half way through, realized that the lumber I put on the bottom was the first lumber that I'll need....

I had a bundle of studs and a bundle of plates sitting on top of all the OSB sheathing, and strapped together.....
so, figured I'd use the tractor and lift each bundle out of the garage.
Then lean the 20 sheets of OSB up against the wall, get the 2x6's out from underneath.

First calamity was forgetting to lock in the bucket on the quick attach...... oops---- dropped the bucket in the garage on top of the lumber pile... that was fun getting it back on.....

Got the bundles moved out, rearranged the lumber in the proper order, then went to move the bundles back on top..... until the strap holding one end of the bundle broke....
At least one held, put another strap around the loose end and cinched them back together.... OK, try again.

Got them into the garage and set down. Then while backing out.... caught the corner of the bucket lip on the garage door trim.... aaaarrrgggghhhh!!!

The only saving grace is I'll have plenty of material to repair it. It's only a small little 3/4" chunk on the edge, so might try to fill it vs. replace.

At that point it was time to quit while ahead......
