Sat around today and napped watched NCIS in between. Have to go for body search but I think there are two more these things they love me. The one on my temple between quarter an 50 cent piece pretty deep and very sore eye lid three quarters of way closed. It’s not that I’m complaining just people be careful of the sun wear sunscreen and cover up none of us are invincible ask I know

Good (Thursday) morning. Of course, this being the Southern hemisphere, it's the shortest day of the year. The overnight Low was 1.3C and it's presently 9C, overcast with rain expected this arvo and into tomorrow. Fairly calm.

I'm still puttering along with the new computer but the major 'fiddling' is complete.

Before the rain event occurs I'll need to make a short trip out to Pyengana for some cheese and then swing by the PO... apparently there's some cases of wine waiting for me.

That's about it, take care all.

, I just took the easy hiking trail up and down all the aisles at Mt. Costco. Even with the rain, it was packed by the time I left at 10:45. Gas had slipped up to 3.09.
I'm hiking it tomorrow, hope it's an inexpensive trail. Gas here just shot up $.14 today, $3.39.

Appointment at 10:30 went back at 10:50 back out at 11:30 all clear margins then back at 12:45 out at 2:30 two good size areas eye swollen back just there. 48 hour no lifting work etc.

The pain is on for awhile

Prayer for Jay and wife, LS and knee, scaredy.

Pretty flowers Ken, nice leaf blower two bit, nice new tractor Lou.

Going to fix nice salad for dinner
Bupps, prayers for some rest and healing. I pray you can get comfortable enough to get some shut eye winks here and there.

Well, it was a long, but thorough exam. Results:

Hardware good in the knee, no abnormalities. Good alignment.
No obvious signs of rejection or infection.
Obvious swelling (twice the size of good knee).
Obvious pain with movement or palpitation.
Localized numbness.
Decreased reflexes.

All said and done: CRPS II (complex regional pain disorder type 2) diagnosis that has no specific treatment, only active movement and light PT (such as swimming) MAY help.....
But it can affect other body functions over the long term......
Some medications MAY help, but could cause other side effects.

The Dr. was highly accredited, a trauma surgeon specializing in joints. He told me something that nobody else has...... about 25-30% of knee replacements end up with CRPS because of all the nerves in the knee joint.
He stated he goes to 2+ international symposiums and the first thing always discussed is the occurrences of CRPS in knee surgeries.

so, to sum it up..... I'm F'd......
Just learn to live with it.....
LS, prayers for pain reduction.
I’ve had bad luck with the low end Dell Vostro laptops. One has no audio, discovered after the 30 day return period. Dell was no help, just kept suggesting driver updates. I think a hardware issue. Now another has had video driver failing. I updated but still not right. This one might be Microsoft update issue.
Both bought straight from Dell.
I've had good luck with Dells, but I don't think I have any vostros.
Good (Wednesday) morning. The overnight Low was -3C (frost) and it's presently 9.9C, clear and calm.

I've skipped over the last few days as I've dealt with (and am still dealing with) my new desktop computer. The short story (so far) is that on Monday I made the trip into Launceston (2.5hr one way) 'early' and made the purchase. The data transfer was taking a long time, therefore I needed to return the next day (yesterday) to retrieve it. <bugger>. Another early 6hr round trip. So yesterday arvo was spent 'setting up' the new system because, even though the data was transferred, it's 'somewhere else' on the new system and I don't have the skill(s) to locate these files and incorporate them... <sigh> I'll need to get a local tech to come here and help.

In the meantime I'll plug away at it. (trying not to use too many expletives... and failing at that)

It's also 'into town' day for mail & groceries.

That's about it, take care all.
You should have rode that computer over there on a couple of horses to save gas. Pitch a tent and stay overnight! :)
Before covid VW were selling 40 percent of their production in China made in more than 30 factories. After Covid VW is discovering that there are now more than 100 brands of electric cars being made in China that are up to standards in quality and performance and they are losing market share. New models are being introduced at a very high rate into the market.
These new brands did not have to change from combustion engines but designed from scratch to be electric.
German car industry is now under pressure from China.
Hoping our car industry is more proactive?

Daughter is still waiting to be scheduled for biopsy!

The Chinese, if they want, can dominate just about any market they want. They can subsidize and undercut pricing. I've always said, If they can master quality like the Japanese did, they will dominate.

Work was good, on my feet more than I like but some sit down time too.

RNG, nice van. I'd like to see photos of how well your M/C fits in the back. Hope the ride is good and A/C is cool. Pretty sweet peas.

I stuck the last A/C part on the traverse last night. The condenser. I quickly pulled a vacuum on it prior to going to bed. The gages read the same 24 hours later tonight. So that's good. Now it needs more vacuum, then filled up.

Ron, nice pic. Longest day was brutal hot. We had a going away party for a co-worker this afternoon. We had gourmet popsicles. I had 1 pink lemonade, and 1 pineapple.

Side note, I asked my daughter with autism if there was any special type of cereal she would like us to buy, and to write it on the list. She wrote "Froot Loops". I was about to correct her spelling, but I held back because I didn't feel like it was a battlefield. Then I get to the store and sure enough, they spell it Froot Loops on the cereal box. She was right.

My boss's mom passed away, he knows that she's now with his dad, but he is still sad.

Yes, Popgadget, things break when you're not home. Often it is improper use for us. My son tried to re- mow the field that has "razor stubble" with the Steiner Beast. He ran over a large clump of hay and it choked the finish mower, and ended up sticking between the blade and the deck. I believe he ruined the belt, not turning off the PTO quick enough. At least I hope it's the belt and not the electric clutch I just thought about.

time for bed...G'night and G'morning to our Taz friend Wags.

Coffee has finished brewing. 58° with mostly cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 75° with mostly cloudy skies. Got grass mowed yesterday morning. It is very dry with lots of dust. Spent some relaxing time setting on back porch with ceiling fan on. That's all I got done. Grocery shopping this morning. Then will see what I can find to do rest of the day.

Good Morning!

God has given us another chance to get it right (or at least not screw up too badly).

61.7F, going to low 70s. Rain all day forecasted.

Today will likely be an energy-conservation day, due to weather. The big challenge is burning off puppy energy with Harry, since tossing the tennis ball down the driveway isn’t happening in the rain… last night i had to throw Harry’s chew toy for about two hours, so he could jump up and down from the sofa. That was fun for about 20 minutes…

while watching YouTube, a video came up in recommendations re tugboat ops in New York Harbor & environs, and in the distance was the Bayonne Bridge. (If you saw the Tom Cruise remake of War Of The Worlds you saw that bridge destroyed in the movie.) The road deck had to be raised to enable post-Panamax ships to enter Port Newark and Port Elizabeth, and we left NJ just as the lifting gantries were being assembled, and yesterday was the first I had thought about that since leaving. Quite an interesting project and a necessary one too, but the proportions are not as pleasing to the eye anymore…

i hope everyone has a happy healthy safe blessed day!

Good Morning
58 and cloudy at home, high of 65 and rain forecast.
72 going to 92 with thunderstorms later here in Orlando.

We finished up in the sim last night around 10:30, decided flying home after a long hard day wasn’t a good idea especially considering the weather. So another night in a Florida’s hotel. About to head down to breakfast and then off to the airport. Should be home well before lunch.
Then I can see what chores are waiting for me. I think the whole family is taking my daughter out to dinner tonight for her birthday.

Buppies, glad you are improving and healing. Your message is heard about protecting from UV exposure. Still see people sunning themselves or not protecting when out and about

Good morning, 57 going to 67 today. Wet outside so we got some rain overnight. Not sure how much

Not sure what I will get into today. Waiting for the new TV to show up. Using the iPhone to stream to the iMac currently.

Daughter at the White House this morning. Going next to German Embassy for diplomats returning to Germany party. She had worked closely with them and sad to see them go back. We station diplomats for 2 years max but other countries do 4 to 5 years at a time

Morning all, a chilly 60 and light rain, low says 62 and is 60 on WU too, baffled.
Got last tomato planted as the ones that got cold hit still don't look well.
Other tomatoes are flowering fine.

Not much else accomplished. But did steam some crab legs for dinner that my wife brought home.

Happy birthday to your daughter PopGadget

Buppies-hope this means a little relief from the pain

Be well,

This looks like a very well run assembly line. The Chinese auto industry will be formidable.
