Dwarf Yaupon Holly.
1.5 more holes to dig. 82˚ going slower but the predicted rain at 6pm keeps me moving.
Fertilized the yard today with Home Depot's 1/2 off an open bag of "Professional fertilizer".
Txdon, Interesting. I may look into the Dwarf variety as long as they are not messy. What I think are yaupons grow everywhere especially under my trees. They get multibranched, root like crazy, and take over, I try to keep them dug out. Perhaps, these are something else / some invasive variety?

Good evening all. 52ºF for the start, overcast, light breeze, 2.5 inch in rain gauge. Light wind, overcast all day with fog most of day, and high temp 57ºF. Slow day, did go to LW#2 and to spillway and took pics. Worked at moving 6 gig file on to laptop, MS has mess up home networking :( Will get USB drives and sneaker net it. Played with remote display but not sure that will work for what I want it to do.

Happy Friday to all. Front blew in but appears we will not get any rain. Need it badly this time of year. Many locals bought and spread fertilizer on hay fields already. Earlier this week, the NWS had much higher chances forecast, then of course, changed it every day.

Time changes this weekend. Wish "they" would STOP this nonsense!

Good Morning!

God has given us another chance to get it right (or at least not screw up too badly).

currently 45F and drizzly, should be clearing a bit later but resuming overnight.

Mrs has become a huge fan of Clarkson’s Farm, so, during the binge watch of Season Two a couple weeks a go, I ordered her some Diddly Squat Farm merch (tee, hat, mug, candy). It arrived yesterday.

she surprised me because she ordered the Grand Tour book for me, which also arrived yesterday. So we had a gift swap. CMTSU 😂🤣😂🤣

Original coffee machine place where we had our fancy-schmancy machine serviced a couple years ago could not help us with parts, but I found a place up in The Bronx and Was able to place an order for the pieced I needed, plus extra spares, plus I got a couple extra items “just in case”.

i hope everyone has a wonderful healthy happy safe blessed Friday!

but then how will people know when to change the batteries in their kitchen timers——- I mean, smoke alarms?

Drinking first cup of coffee. 29° with snow this morning. Heading to 35° with more snow throughout the day. May get up to 3". Grocery shopping went good. It was nice enough outside to get car washed. Neighbor is on Parental Leave from work asked for help putting a Horn on his BX tractor. Got that done. Then put a cat door on basement furnace room door. That was enough for the day. Going to get front porch cleaned up today.

Everyone stay safe and well.

Good Morning All.

36 outside this AM, heading to mid 40's. Weather people said we could get anything related to various forms of water....rain, sleet, hail, snow and/or graupel. Think they covered their bases. Looking outside, it looks nice and dry.
Needs to stay that way.

Yesterday turned into a yard cleanup day. Had to get the pole saw out for a few hangers. Ended up making three RTV trips to the burn pile. Somewhere in all that pickup effort, managed to split the wood recovered from the previous days back forty adventure.

Hope all have a great start to the day and weekend. Be safe. Get or stay healthy.

39 going to 49...rain close by.

Lou, glad you're home. Don't overdo it. When the farmer across the road separates his calves, it's a nice rural sound I enjoy.

Spike, I'm enjoying your jet photos...so much fun watching them do touch and go at Oceana. I saw some flying low at Langley last week, but couldn't ID them.

Hiked another section of the AT yesterday near Buena Vista...Buppies, I'm heading your way.

Good morning! 54˚F with a North wind and cloudy skies it will only get to the mid 60's.

The rains never came I will have to turn the sprinklers on the just fertilized yard.

The dwarfs are planted. The 2 day project would have been a 1/2 day project in my youth.

Received 20 new electrical breakers in mail to replace the defective ones.

Today our neighborhood has the "Vendors Fair". We are going to find a contractor to screen in the back porch.

Yes they are something else. They are similar to boxwoods but hardier and only grow to 3-4 feet. They are slow growing and only need trimming once a year. I had these at the last house. Highly recommended. I found these at Home Depot but they soon sold out. Pic of label below.

Morning all, 31 going up to 48 and cloudy, calling for rain, and maybe a small amount of wet snow tomorrow.

Did not get much free time from day job yesterday and still a bit breezy for spraying.

Tomorrow might finish wire run for min-split just to neaten it up and start stapling in place. Might put bucket back on tractor and store plow, but will that bring snow ?

PopGadget- 2 of my first apps I wrote back in the days of basic was a floppy disk data editor and a resonance calculator. I bet the SW to do the initial layout is a bit more sophisticated now, and nothing like a good spectrum analyzer.

Grilled a salmon filet with soy marinade on a cedar plank that was part of a kit the wife got my son for xmas. Plank was so thin that it caught fire --but fish was saved and came out great. Plank was just too thin to be reusable. Will need to reconfigure burners to use the other 3 planks so the middle ones are just off and not on low.

This camera picks up the colors better. There is almost always a deer posing to help me with test shots. One of these days I need to mill the Ash trunk in the background. Anyone want an ash plank?
