48° and raining .27” so far

Mostly, congrats on 6k

I keep all receipts for anything but groceries and junk. I have receipts from building my house 25 yrs ago.

Bird, always good to hear from you.

Looks like the last couple newcomers to GM are one and done.

Wunderground showing 50° and rain next week.

Good Morning
It’s 40 and going to rain through the daylight hours with a high just over 50.

Yesterday, I didn’t get home until after 8, but the tail wind coming home actually exceeded the headwind going west. We were doing over 425 kts over the ground in the turboprop for most of the trip.

We did a Chick-Fil-A drive through on the way home from the airport. When I got home, didn’t do much but crawl into bed.

Today might be breakfast with the professor, followed by some quality time in the shop. Not much else planned, but I’m pretty sure I’ll stay busy.
Tractor still need an engine oil change, I’ve got the oil and filters, so might get to that.

Popgadget, which instrument should the late young JFK have looked at to tell whether he was right side up?

I think about sitting in there and figuring it all out and it's pretty clear to me pilots are darned smart.

Good morning! Yesterday was just too warm (85˚F) to get into the mood to put up the Christmas lights. Today we have a stout 20 mph North wind and 38˚F, too cold and windy to mess with lights. Friday looks like a decent day with a light South wind and 70.

Has anyone else noticed the 2023 home/vehicle insurance rates have increased 50%?

Morning all, 39 going up to 58. If it doesn't rain I will put up the lights.

So the panel saga, 5th time was a charm, delivered by the store manager and got $150 credit at homedepot for my troubles. Got the new panels before the original ones were depleted.
So all good and even got one of the more complex cut panels up last night.

Drew - guess the dentist needs a new porsche ? Ouch. Good to hear MIL seems to be getting better.

Mostly - 6000 is fantastic - I think I never got above 5000 even in my racing days.

We had 4 short power outages yesterday and for some reason my front lights on the motion detector now works with the switch in the down position instead of the up position?? confused

Be well,

Good Morning!!!! 38F @ 5:15AM.
Partly cloudy skies this morning will become overcast during the afternoon. High 57F. Winds SSE at 5 to 10 mph.
Looks like we'll get about an inch and a half of rain tonight and into tomorrow, then dry for Friday.

That's a pretty good clip for a turboprop, huh Paul?

6K miles on your bike, and still a month to go, Bruce? Could there be a new record in your near future?

I've never been impressed with the "help" at HD, Ken. Can't imagine anyone working there that could find a better job somewhere else.

If my insurance rates went up another 50%, Don, I'd start shopping for a new insurance company, and maybe even think seriously about self insuring. Guess I'll find out in January.

Gravel delivery was right on time yesterday. Contractor neighbor came over and thought it would be best to apply and roll it out after it stopped raining, but he's gonna try to get the roller delivered today.

Installed a voltage regulator on the red bike yesterday, completing the charging system upgrade.

Headed into town this morning for groceries and other errands. Going a day early to avoid driving in tomorrow's rain.

Happy Hump Day, folks!

rs, way to go holding Home Depots feet to the fire.
I only keep receipts for 'big ticket' items. $2400.oo stove, $4500.oo hybrid hot water heater and such.
You are putting me to shame with all the work you are doing in a day.
Hydro is doing a fair amount of flickering today, good thing is my backups is absorbing all the spikes, so far. It had better, it is only 2 months old. Receipt attached to it.
Maybe your big fish is bullying the other one and it was hiding, or maybe the one in the picture ate the other fish.
Looking, can you tell me more about those back ups? I would like to avoid the same spikes, and in fact the last time the lights flickered off and on my garage door opener stopped working properly. What I’m concerned about here is the effects on electronics, so any information to pass along would be much appreciated.

Assuming you're still driving the same car, shouldn't auto insurance go down each year as the car ages and would cost less to replace? Sure doesn't seem to work that way, though.

   / Good morning!!!! #159,855
My home and car insurance went up about 20% this year. Not fun.
check, I think he is talking about UPS.
I also have whole house spike protectors, but just got some damage yesterday when power went out 4 times for about a minute each time.
Low voltage can play havoc too.

Yes, but not close to the fastest I have seen over the ground in this airplane. I have seen 535, but by the time I thought to take a picture it slowed to 527, but that was still enough to set the record since 2004.

We have two Cheyenne 400’s and they really are amazing machines. The one that I like to fly still holds many records, all set by Chuck Yeager. Here’s him with it after setting the NY-Paris record.

IMG_8435.jpg

They’re still a hoot to fly, even if they are getting old, but so am I.
Ours now have 5 bladed props and updated avionics, but the the heart of the beast remains the same.

Can you tell that I have a soft spot for them?

   / Good morning!!!! #159,858
14 degrees here this morning. I'll sure take the cold, over tornados, in November...

   / Good morning!!!! #159,859
27°F and clear skies this morning, going up to 39°. Got real windy here last night around 8:15pm. House started creaking. Was done in about five minutes.

We had another shooting out in the street in front of the building at work yesterday. Occupants of two vehicles shooting at each other at the gas station across the street. One pulled out into the street and collided with a passing SUV, then shot a couple more times and left. Crazy people. After watching it on our video surveillance system, I went out to make sure they didn't punch any holes in my car. All good. Friday is my last day here. Not gonna miss that.

Congrats on the 6k, Mostly_. Impressive.

Weird that Ron is warmer in Michigan this morning than we were here in Southern Illinois, or Bird and Don down in Texas.

Good morning, all.
