Good morning! Daisy says it 63˚ in Sun City, I did not believer her till I walked outside. It is too cold to bike, so I guess she is right. No wind, heading to 98˚ this afternoon.

Mostly, I do not have a heart monitor. I haven't really used one since I stopped running but I may need one for biking. Do you have one you use? Biking does not make my knee hurt and my HR is getting up there.

Happy Birthday Randy, hope 66 will be a great year for you.
Randy I was wondering about that expandable hose if you only need 25' do you still have to expand it to 100'?

The month long beginners spinning class is over and I enjoyed the twice a week group workouts.
I signed up for 30 group work out sessions. they are $3 each and includes about 10 different physical classes by an instructor. Boot Camp, core strengthening, spinning, . . .etc. These are maintenance classes not progressive classes so you can jump from class to class weekly and not fall behind. I plan on doing two a week.

There are many miles of hiking trails here in the neighborhood, I need to find out which club takes on the responsibility of trail maintenance, I kept all my hand tools (and snake boots) for that.

Don, have you considered a FitBit? My FB Charge 2 shows time, date, steps, and pulse rate. You can since to you phone or iPad.

67 degrees going for 97 today. Maybe I'm different, but for me, if I'm going to be out in the sun, 50 degrees is ideal; loved playing golf when it was 50 degrees, although anywhere in the 50s wasn't bad. But if I'm going to be in the shade, I prefer 60 degrees, and of course anywhere in the 60s is OK. I'd love a climate where it never gets below 40 or above 70.

OK, gonna miss the mark a bit
YTD Low - 59°F less than handful 60 or below
YTD High - 83°F less than handful 80 or above

A bit cooler weather is welcome.. highs in 80s for next 10 days is forecast. Smoke is not too bad, I might actually get some things done outside that I have been putting off.

I do enjoy catching up on this thread and am amazed at how busy so many are.. My wife felt good enough yesterday to venture out on her own (first real outing since she got sick a few weeks ago). She will be back to normal soon.

A number of years ago, she broke her ankle badly and they put it back together with some screws, but used some new technology to hold other parts together that they could leave in and not cause more trauma removing later. Something is causing her ankle joint to freeze up and be very painful. She has an appt coming up in the couple of weeks to try and figure out what is going on..

Sounds good, how accurate is it?

Heard a news story a few months ago about how inaccurate the heart rate monitors are on pretty much all of the wrist mount fitness devices. Some were way off.

The Wife and I had several FitBits a couple of years ago. Not a single one of them lasted even a full year before they just died.

I have an Ionic FitBit. It appears accurate for steps and distance. My blood sugar levels and weight gain/loss seem consistent with the FB recorded calorie "burn." My only complaints are the brightness of the LED face at night when my wrist/arm movements turn it on and I am unable to monitor my sleep stages. The calorie counter/nutrition program is not as user friendly as myfitnesspal or sparkpeople programs, but it works. The more I use the diet/nutrition program the easier it becomes. I have been able to obtain most nutrition/calorie information for the food brands that we normally eat from the internet if the information is not on the packaging label. I am rough on watches. We'll see how long my FB lasts.

I used to dislike mowing the "lawn" before retirement due to the amount of time it took (~3 hours). Now I find it "therapeutic." As mentioned recently I need to find mowing windows of opportunity between the rain events.

Ive had mine for 2 years and no problems with it. My screen glass (plastic) has been cracked for several months and it still works fine.

It’s taken the abuse of ranch work. It taken a lickin’ and keeps on tickin’

I take my blood pressure every morning and the Fitbit tracks with my Omron Monitor closely.

My wife has had same one for about 4 years and still happy.
