Low 80s today and low humidity for one more day, felt like early October yesterday with 25-20 mph NE wind and 75 for a high.
Ellen has another busy day planned so I’m off to breakfast.
Good days and prayers for all.

53 and clear, going up to a relatively cool 80 for July. Nice.

David, great contrast between the lava flow and the waterfalls. Look like your 4some had a great time. Did you get to fly over your house? I think I just figured out where the name Sodamo comes from.

Ed, fished a good bit of the James, too, mostly between Wingina and Richmond.

Bush hogged about 5 acres yesterday...felt good with the north wind and temps in the upper 70s.

Do you remember the Bateaus on the James. I was one of 6 that built and "sailed" the first on in 200 years from Columbia to Richmond. Fished on and off the whole way. Most of my James river fishing was around Columbia. Ed

Roy, not only are the pto shafts a PITA to work with, but impossible to get the thing on without getting covered in grease.
There just has to be a better way.

I wear gloves when I'm hooking up the PTO...also, keep a shop rag handy. Also, veteran Carhartt canvas work pants which have been well broken in working around the tractor and implements.
This shaft has the ring which must be pulled back and three retaining balls... I don't think the retaining balls are retracting fully when I slide the ring back.
Drew, if your chipper came with the American made PTO shaft, you probably have the same one I do.

52 right now...high in the mid-80's.
Chores: finish up what I started yesterday (and bitched about late yesterday afternoon) and some wed trimming.

Speaking of weed trimming...we have a lot of weeds this year. I don't normally spray them, but I've started this year. I don't want to use chemicals if I can avoid it. I'm trying vinegar...for you guys in the same situation, what are you doing?

That is really cool. They just held the 33rd James River Bateau Festival a couple of weeks ago. Sounds like a very interesting trip down the river. Were the white water rapids sections difficult on a bateau?

Good Morning!!!! 70F @ 5:00AM. Sunny. High near 95F. Winds S at 5 to 10 mph.

Thanks for sharing the lava flow pics, David. I noticed you were able to come down much closer to the water, and wondered if there are minimum altitude restrictions in place for the lava?

There you go teasing us again with pond stories, Eric. By the time you get around to telling us your secret, I bet that fish will have grown to at least twice the size it was yesterday.

Spare, or as Honda calls it, sub tank, is now ready for coating, after many trips in and out of the cement mixer for tumbling. The cap for it looks pretty with its shiny chrome, but even with a new seal, it managed to leak a bit into the moving blanket. After a trip through the wash the blanket was good as new, though. Not sure what to do about the leak, maybe add another seal for more pressure? Turned out to be something of a good thing, though, as the saturated cloth put enough of the etch onto the old rusty but good sealing main tank cap to change it back to silver in color.

After all that running around and lunch, it felt like it was time for a nap. But with no A/C running inside yet I was up in an hour to turn it on, then watch a few YouTube videos, one of which showed the semi-submersible boats now being used to smuggle cocaine and other narcotics into the US and Mexico from Columbia. Made out in the jungles from fiberglass and resin, they cost about a million bux a pop and are scuttled after one run, but with each load bringing in $175 million, who's counting?

Hope everyone enjoys the rest of their weekend...

Good morning to all! Down to 48 at 05:00, warmed up to 56 at 06:30, going for 84. Supposed to have a better chance of showers today, I hope so.

David, absolutely awesome pictures! Once in a lifetime opportunity.

Randy, have fun at the car show, should be perfect weather for it!

Eric, you need to get some 'muskillunge' fish (don't know if I spelled that right) to take care of those little feeder fish:eek: just kidding...any fishing is good

Going to head out early to work on the fence, maybe I'll get rained out (yea right):D

Everyone have a great day! Prayers out this morning!
