Bought diesel today for $4.85/gal. Cheapest I have bought this summer. But reality is, the NH is pretty thrifty on fuel.

You did better than I did. At the Buc-ee's in Bastrop gas was $3.29 a gallon.

Well, it was just a comfortable day today. High finally hit 74° around 16:00. Stayed in the 60's most of the day. No rain, so I was able to do a little work on the Jeep. Tranny all done and refilled, plus all changed and coil rail back in place.
Then, with the perfect temp, I painted the new front grill and headlight bezels. Got a few coats on and they are ready for install. That won't be until the engine work is totally done. Still have to change the water pump and the t-stat and housing.

If the rain holds off, I'll take out the transfer case tomorrow. The weather guessers are still predicting heavy rain tomorrow into Sunday. I may have to have a forced day off.....

We decided to "postpone" our anniversary dinner until Sunday, which we also decided to do a short road trip. Totally unplanned, just a drive to ??? We'll head west, decide where to turn when we get there.....

Good evening all. 69ºF for the start, fog, calm wind. Bike ride to start day (after fog lifted.) Then mowed front after lunch and walked the trimmer. After nap went to town for area rugs and dinner, dropped of 10 qt.s used motor oil, and picked up meds.

Drew had to chuckle at 92ºF as hot. was 90ºF here when I mowed and was smiling the whole time. Enjoy your car ride.

Chores: Dump run, definitely...maybe mow and trim...I'll need to get gas for the mower though.
Brought some work home too. Yesterday's audit went OK, but there were 4 minor findings (one of which is corrected (if the auditor signs off on it))

Did some backpack spraying in the early morning until wind picked up...took it easy the rest of the day and caught the Brewers v. Cubs game. The players had to occasionally pause as the Blue Angels flew over on their route during their air show in Chicago.

I started my day at zero-dark-something with an ear-worm, when the urge to head to the necessary woke me up, and I was resisting the urge. . . Our ceiling fan has a slight harmonic in it, and it gives a gentle, rhythmic “buh-wuh —- buh-wuh —— buh-wuh” sound.

however… some sort of might-insect (not a traditional cricket) was issuing a high-pitched buzz in time with the fan harmonic, and, after a couple of bars of this,

I buy nearly all my gasoline at the Denton Buc-ee's. It's usually the cheapest place in this area. But it has fluctuated lately a bit. On 8/14/2022 I paid $3.249 and on 8/18/2022 I paid $3.459/
