Good Afternoon Everyone-

The morning started out at 40F it's probably in the mid 70F's now. A decent day to take on the project list. I have a lot to do with limited time. Wifey's broken collarbone is mending, but it will be awhile before she can use her arm. I think that I have climbed our pear tree for the last time for pruning, but it's pruned. My apple trees are semi-dwarf = not a lot of ladder work.

Deer do not start dropping their fawns until late May, early July around here.

Drew- I'll take the "possible." I never did see the ladybug:embarrassed:. Years ago I got a lot of free "mulch" hay from my dairyman neighbor. I found out why it was free later. I got weeds that I had never seen before. That was ~30 years ago. The hay has composted; the introduced weeds have prospered.

Buppies- I hope you keep on mending.

Rick- Thanks for sharing the fawn picture. I mow like PJS. I do not like "surprises."

Ron- That's great news about the med changes leading to feeling better.

Wngsprd- My roadside garbage situation is better this year than most; but still needs to be removed.

LS- I am glad to read that you are feeling/moving better.

David and Sophie- I hope that you both remain out of harm's way.

My + thoughts, wishes, and prayers for all.

In the vein of honest disclosure, I no longer on the red 67, it now lives in South Miami. I owned it for many years though.

Jeep is back from garage, $400.oo for a Walker muffler (lifetime warranty) and tail pipe.

New fridge installed, with contents of old fridge which is relocated to another room.

One hydro line buried from genny to house.

I've done enough for today.

Tomorrow IF it doesn't rain it will be dig a grave. 6x6' and 6' deep.

Mowed my field tonight. Beautiful night to mow. Never got oil changed in massey, mowed anyways.
Then put ratchet rake on kubota and pushed weeds from garden area, need to plant soon. Ran over 1 tpost, broke it off in the ground. Dug out broken piece.
Dogwood is pretty, but was getting dark. Still sitting on porch chilling, listening to mocking bird, cat munching food beside me. Lilacs blooming and smell nice.
Wife and boys went to movie. 0508182018.jpeg0508182011.jpeg

Good morning.

Clear and sunny down here.

Weekend was busy. 60 gallons of deck oil put down on 7000 ft2 of decking. It was a chore. Next time I will invest in a sprayer extension. To minimize overspray I had to use low pressure and spray really close. That meant being on my knees for the entire job. My body is still sore! I did take some time off on Saturday and went to a derby party with my better half. We got all dress up and she had her fancy hat on. We got some really good food and I enjoyed a couple mint juleps. Worked on my tractor on Sunday and got the engine to run. Now I have to finish fixing the hydraulic to get it back to running again.
Maybe try an airless parking lot striper on wheels???

Had a surveyor check on the compass rose. Something is happening. It's off 1.78˚. Are those Hawaii earthquakes or sunspots throwing off the magnetic field, is the ground moving here? Even the iPhone is showing 2˚ off and was perfect before.

Don, it is so ironic you mentioned that, I almost got goosebumps. I was showing a coworker your paver handiwork on Google Earth Pro yesterday and it did look slightly off from due north. I just read your post this evening (Tuesday).......freakish...

I'm no expert, and didn't even spend last night in a Holiday Inn Express, but I'd say if the pole moves east it would be moving in the direction that your compass rose is already pointing. Hate to be the bringer of bad news, but it isn't moving very fast, and you might not live long enough to see absolute accuracy return.

If you can't live with that, better get with Kyle and come up with a plan to mount your compass rose on some sort of turntable. I bet Eric could even put together a computerized gizmo that would constantly monitor the pole position and adjust the compass rose accordingly. Make it solar powered and it would always be accurate!:laughing:

Machine Works in Bryan Texas has a large enough Vertical Turret lathe possibly to make something.

But I want one of these. This one is in St. Petersburg Fl War Veterans Memorial Park.

If you like a good Tequila, I would definitely recommend CASA DRAGONES the Blanco is one of my favorites, smooth soft sipping Tequila.
I'm a Blanco drinker I don't care for most of the Anejos or Reposados .

When my brother worked across from Mcallen Tx, his workers recommended Casadores tequila 100% agave. I like it. Especially for the price. I hate Cuervo Gold. Prefer white tokillya.

Aww.
Whipper was barking at a new fawn for 2 hours the other night outside the yard. I finally had to go out and tell her it was ok. People mowing high grass and making hay really need to watch carefully this time of year.

My wife saw a doe chasing away a large tan dog off our property the day before, presumably keeping away from her fawn.

RNG and others in California, what are y'all gonna do now that coffee has been determined to cause cancer in California??? They say the roasting process causes it.

Prayers for all.

Beautiful evening, like Buckeye, I decided it was great mowing weather, so I mowed my yard and the back field. Watered all the flowers, and noticed that the apple tree didn’t have many blooms this year and they’re already gone. Dogwood was late and not as full either.
Went up and finished rebuilding the HEI on Ellen’s El Camino and got it started. Now it it needs a thorough cleaning, been sitting in the garage since fall.

It’s really dry here, mowing was a dust storm. I waited last weekend for the predicted rain that never came, at least very little came. We could use 2” right now.
