Good morning!!!!

Good morning! 57˚F north wind, high in the 60s, partly cloudy. Only 1/3 of the card players showed up last night. The other 2/3 were probably glued to the TV watching the tornado reports, or they were worried about an alligator infestation since the warning e-mail came out yesterday afternoon.
Today is my first day of FireWise clearing since the knee replacement. I did good in the Park Cedarcide last week so I'm not worried.
4/10" rain with all the excitement yesterday. No deaths reported this morning but lots of damage in towns SE of here where the tornado touched down.

Kyle still waiting for a report.

Wagtail, busy day! Glad it went well and people helped clean up.

53°F and cloudy this morning, going up to 57° today. the rain arrived around 10pm last night and fell through the night, ending right around 5am when the alarm woke me. Very windy here, sustained around 25mph, occasionally gusting higher. It exposed some rattling window screens on the back of the house, and was scooting the chairs across and off the wet deck. Looks like we're in for rain most of the day today.

Power was flickering off and on when I was getting ready for work. That's always good for all the electronic stuff we have in our lives these days.

Got the news early this morning that my Wife's uncle passed overnight in the hospital. His heart failed and they couldn't revive him. Been a tough few months for that side of her family.

Hope Kyle and his family are OK.

Sounds like a delicious party, Randy.

sorry for wife's Uncle PJ.

went to local plant market and came back with two flats of pansies and several hellebores.
Got them all planted, turned on outside spigot and amazingly everything worked, except for the
hose nozzle I left out all winter long. They sure don't like freezing.
Back isn't too happy after that so going to chill for a bit

65°F and no rain

Only got 1 door completed yesterday, finish the other one today. Amazing how much crap collected in those hidden areas only accessible by taking it apart. Worth the time and effort.

In person Happy Hour a very pleasant gathering, well fed of course.

Today is Sophie’s birthday 🤙 I’m a bit disappointed her BX isn’t here. Last word is it is built, awaiting shipment. I still intend it as a surprise.

Will celebrate tonight with Lobster dinner at one of our favorite restaurants.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

38 early and headed to 69 later, they say, but it’s 72 now.
Pruned the apple and dogwood trees after dinner last night, love the late sunsets. Got the limbs to the woods just about sunset. I’ve got to go to Home Depot and pick up my Spectracide granuals and Home Defense Max. Need to buy a few gallons of bleach to wash the house and out buildings. I’ve got the mmm served I just need to put on the tractor.

Good Morning!!!! 72F @ 10:15AM. Abundant sunshine. Near record high temperatures. High 88F. Winds NW at 10 to 15 mph.

Glad to hear of no damage from the Texans that have reported in, and I hope Kyle is heard from safe and sound, and soon.

I'm late writing this as I had a little job to do for the dozer operator. A few days ago he handed me his Ruger Automatic Pistol, asking if I knew anything about them, as this one wouldn't work. I've had a couple of them, and was pretty familiar with them, but that was maybe twenty years ago, but I said I'd take a look. They're easy to take apart, and tricky to get back together correctly. So I watched a YouTube video that showed the tricks better than the old gunsmithing books and got it working again. Still need to test fire it, which I'll do in a few minutes so I can hand it back to the old gentleman when he finishes today.

Yesterday was another busy day and we got most of the rest of the clearing done. Any farther north, and the ground was too steep to be good for anything. The before and after photos aren't perfect matches, but can be zoomed enough to see most of the clean up. Today he'll cut a road to the east boundary so I can get the tractor in there, without it being too much of a side hill. And he'll try to smooth out the ground, as the tracks tore things up pretty well.

I've got some tidying up on the south side, clearing some brush away from the two corners at that end so they're easier to find next time. Not sure what I'll get into after that, but I've got lots to pick from...

What Ruger model? A Mark series .22?
Always heard they were a ***** to disassemble and reassemble...after owning a Colt Woodsman (also a SOB to take down and reassemble), I never even considered a Ruger .22 until the Mark IV came into production
The Mark IV's are easy to takedown and reassemble
I own 2 of them...

I have a S&W 622 that's a pain to take down and reassemble, requiring a small plastic spacer tool that I lost decades ago. Fortunately, a spent .22LR shell works, too.

I've never understood the logic of firearms designers requiring a tool for basic maintenance.
