Ron, midday power naps are great!
I saw a b i g blue jay on my compost pile the other day when I was plowing and couldn't get a picture of it. I was pushing way more snow with the bucket than the tractor was willing to push in medium range and had to go to low and power divider. She sure was snorting to push that load.
One of the smarter guys here can tell us how much snow I was pushing if you figure a 1.5' extension on the top of the bucket which is 60" wide and the snow was 12" deep. The bucket was full after 20' and I still pushed all the way to the pile 100' away. This is a walkway to get to the pile and where the dog goes for a dump. So it is nothing fancy.

This coming soon, EGO battery operated ZTR. $5,000. Mows up to 2 acres with 4 batteries (add 2 more batteries for 3 acres).
Coming Soon! The Z6 Zero-Turn Riding Mower | EGO
As a full system with the new charger and four 10Ah batteries, expect the EGO Zero Turn to retail at the $5,000 price point. Given what else is available currently, thatç—´ a pretty nice price for a lithium-ion ZT with the design theyæ±*e offering. EGO Z6 Zero Turn Riding Mower ZT424L | Pro Tool Reviews

That Ego sounds amazing...22hp and 8mph rivals many gas/diesel ZTRs. It looks lightweight so it might not damage soft ground as much, but I didn't see a weight.

29 and crystal clear. Looking for 42 to thaw the ground and make it soggy again.

Temps stayed at about 33 all day yesterday, so the ice finally fell off everything and we didn't lose power. Mostly, that 2009 ice storm looked like one we got back in the early 90s...over 5" of ice knocked our power out for 5 days.

Thomas, give her one more chance before you plow. :)

Buppies, can't beat a good Perry Mason.

Thanks for concerns for Coco, and feedback on the CBD oil. Got it ordered and they say shipped already.

Spent some time on the UPS website trying to help my wife decipher shipping a package to our New York son. Some companies still haven't figured out customer-centric software. They do a good job delivering around here, so at least know their key competency.

Neither are we 2 more inches or so we set record for the year

Same here. 2018 is #1 here in nc. i might be wrong but in 2018 i think we had 3 hurricanes back to back which is not unusual. One of those hurricanes sat for 4 days, never really moved. That was very unusual and that is probably the only reason 2018 is ahead.

2020 was hard rain metered out every 2nd or 3rd day. High volume, high frequency.

I might be wrong but in any case, imho, worst summer in 40 years.

Went to a Knights of Columbus Father/son breakfast. The speaker was from Boston gang police. Paid attention and learned you could shoot needles from the threaded (nut) end of a bicycle spoke. The zip guns were nice too, but I didn’t have extra money to by the 22’s.

We used fine shot in the spoke.

Good Morning!!!! 46F @ 3:45AM. Cloudy and damp with rain this morning...then becoming partly cloudy. High near 55F. SSW winds shifting to NW at 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 90%.
Rain started yesterday at about 4PM, a gentle drizzle at first, picking up a bit but all of it soaking into the dry ground. It's been pretty steady all night, with about 0.8" in the bucket so far.

What a nice gift your wife is making for you this morning, Thomas, letting you have first crack at the new snow with her new tractor!

Hope your power has been more on than off, Buppies, Mike, Ken, Bill and the rest of you in that big storm, and that the ice hasn't caused too much damage.

Glad the furnace is able to limp along and still keep you warm, Ron. Nice spot of blue in an otherwise gray day.

Hope those with fresh snow take it easy with the pushing and shoveling.

Another termite emerges from the woodwork! Looks like a nice home for a big woofer, Paul. Did I guess right?

Another hundred CV19 cases here yesterday, and seven deaths. We were spared during the first several months, and a lot of folks here still aren't taking any precautions when they're out and about. And since it's "the season" there are a lot of family and work related gatherings, and again, people are pretending it's no big deal. The highest infection rate is still among the 18-24 age group, and highest death rate in the 65+ range.

Sorry to hear about the mud beer, David. I guess that's the price to pay for a wacky flavor?

Now that we've had some rain, too, Doug, I'm looking forward to taking out quite a few fire damaged trees. It's supposed to stop later today, and there are three of them that have been threatening to fall across the driveway entrance that I hope to start with.

I had pretty good luck unplugging the screens over the ends of bathroom and kitchen faucets with vinegar, RS. Used a sandwich sized plastic to hold about a half cup of it, with a rubber band to hold it in place. After leaving it on overnight, the ring holding the screen came right off, and the screen itself was clear.

Things went pretty smoothly yesterday with the unloading. Took us about 2 1/2 hours, but part of that was talking with the crew that was working on the powerline easement. I was told two of the big Ponderosa pines here are tall enough to reach the lines, and have canker from bark damage caused by the fire. They may not pass the next inspection, which would be too bad because they're beautiful trees. But if they go the other way, they'll take out whatever is parked on the driveway.

Had enough time before the rain started to rake out the tractor tire tracks and spread a bucket load of decomposed granite over the spots where it had been packed down into the dirt. Once the rain stops, I'll have to get after it with pre-emergent to keep the weeds out of it.

Hang in there, gang, Friday's comin'!

Saw a Tesla car out on the freeway out in the middle of nowhere during my trip, so I'm not surprised that electric Z-turns are coming on the market. But 40 amp-hours doesn't sound like a lot of energy. And it seems like you'd be looking for a lot more than 2 or 3 acres worth of power if you had a place large enough to justify a Z-turn to begin with. But I can see where dealing away with the noise would be a real advantage, especially after using the electric chainsaw without the ear muffs making my ears all sweaty.

I watch Perry most days, even though I’ve seen them all multiple times.

30 now, after nearly 2” more rain my pond is back, I’m thinking ice skating later. LOL It would be more like @$$ breaking I’m afraid.

Wind broke a clip on my flagpole, got to fix that.
Doctor this morning.

Have a good day.

You don’t need a big yard to justify a ZTR. My 2+ acres is plenty, my 48” Kubota cut it in about an hour and I have a lot of trees.
It takes me about that long with my 60” belly mower in the Massey.

I need a steering wheel no matter what with power steering.
Any electrics have that? Electric or hydraulic steering but it has to have
low effort steering. Without the need to squeeze anything.
Right now a 3 series JD is the least expensive hydraulic steering garden tractor I can find,
though the Husky larger line would be fine for me, just no manual steering.

Cub Cadet makes/made some seriously heavy duty zero turns with steering wheels.
I wonder if any of them are available used?

Good morning! Cold all the way to Texas but clear sunny skies no snow . 24˚F heavy frost heading to the 60s. I'm glad I grabbed my irrigation timer out of the garden yesterday evening.
300 new covid cases yesterday in the county, our Governor will be on TV this morning to tell us how the vaccine will be distributed.

Our neighborhood trail now has a Labyrinth off a spur.

21°F and partly cloudy this morning, going up to 37° today. Most of the snow melted with the sunshine here yesterday.

Finally got the chicken feed out to the barn and mixed last night. Been carrying it around in the back of my car since the weekend. Just forgot about it until last night.

Nice-looking cabinet design, Paul. I always preferred a good shelf port over tuned tubes.

Hope everyone stays safe in the weather this week.
