72 heading to 94. Actually looking for tomorrow to return to the 80s.

Jim, "tramped" the elliptical machine video track up to The Pinnacles in Coromandel Forest Park yesterday. Maybe that is closer to you on the North Island.

Eric, hope Brexit will ease some of those regulations for you. I don't use a lot of glyphosate, but it does have its place in certain applications and glad I can buy and use it at will.

72 heading up to 91 today with showers and rain this morning.
I'm headed to dermatologist early, hope to get out of there without being chomped or frozen.

Got a "ticket" from the toll folks at the brand new toll going through Chesapeake VA. No toll booth, they mail you a bill? Reminds me to get that car added to Easy Pass so this won't happen again. Toll is one dollar, three dollars if they have to send you a bill. Maybe the Post Office is behind this....seems like an archaic system.

going to a new chain restaurant in town tonight. Not expecting much, seems that RibEyes just buys frozen food, their steaks are Omaha Steaks apparently, and broils them. Nothing on menu suggests they know how to cook at all. At least the baked potatoes are included and not 8 bucks extra like at Mortons or the other expense account favorites.

74 this AM. 91 percent humidity. Yesterday was interesting, the ground was wet enough for me to torch my burn pile. As it was starting, mother nature decided it was time to rain. Mind you, I had just stepped away from the pile, the diesel was about 4 feet up and starting to spread. Yeah, as I was backing away, the sky opened up. I made about five steps backwards and the flames are going out. By the time I made it to my fence line, I was soaked to the underwear. The match box, well it was holding - water. This lasted for all of a few minutes, but the burn pile was out and soaked. So I got out of my clothes changed and jumped into the pool. Then it opened up again. The pool water was warmer than the rain. Ahh......

I managed to get the pile started late afternoon. It was a slow, smoky burn, much more controlled than the firestorm rage normally expected with cedar and maple tops. But it got done.

Today, need to rake it out later, pick up the straggler branches and start anew. And take a look at the grass in the back, may need to break out the mowers again.

Hope all have a great day. Be safe.

The humidity yesterday must have been close to the same as Satan's nether regions... It was AWFUL...

Silly me I thought I was going to cut up the last of the trees we had dropped, but NOOOOO #1 the rains the night before turned much of the area too muddy (my tractor would have torn the tractor roads up), and then just as I was suiting up to go out and work at 10am it rained again!!!

Then a few hours later, the simple act of moving a piece of furniture from he back basement door up and into the car was enough to soak through my shirt and much of my cargo shorts. Then had to repeat in reverse back at Mossflower... Thank God most of today I HAVE to work indoors in the AC...

Be well all,
David

Drew,

Why go to the chain restaurant if expectations so low? Maybe you will be surprised???

About the carpal tunnel. I was in denial for years, I've been in the high tech/computer industry since 1982 and I had it BAD, up to the elbows. Traffic on my Harley was agony, running a chainsaw misery. I finally got one hand done back in 2012 i think (I suspect there are pictures on this site actually) and I did the left hand within less than a year. I done one normal style and one arthroscopic. There are plus & minus both ways. I can PM you my number so you can call if you wish. But...

Just go get the surgery. It works, and it is worth it.

Be well Brother,
David

Poured second cup of coffee. 63° with mostly cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 71° with overcast skies all day. Some serious storms moved through the area yesterday. All of them missed our place. Got wood bin floor leveled out yesterday. Today I should get all the rubber patio blocks laid. It will take some time to cut them for outer edges. Already cut a couple with sharp utility knife. not easy. Going to try a saw today.
MFW, and others. Be careful working in heat and high humidity. Water is not enough to keep you hydrated.
Good Morning All.

Buppies,

Yeah, I declared yesterday a "Snow Day" to the wife and said it was simply too hot & humid. But I still had to get get that piece of furniture... LOL...

We watched a redbox and a couple DVD episode of Game of Thrones...

Ron,

Ice water in a giant Yeti cup is my go to. I don't do sugar like Gatorade. But July 1-2 weekend when I was chain sawing all day I did stop and suck down some 100% apple juice for the sugar when I was feeling low, and we did stop to eat and cool off a couple times. I had two sets of work clothes so one could be drying in the breeze while I was sweating in the other... I'm down to the very last few trees, I've got 3-4 that are topped and just have to be cut up for disposal, and I think only 3 left in "pick-up-stix" format and untouched on the hillside. Only one of them is really big...

Be well all,
David
