Good morning!!!!

40ï½° and sunshine
Had another severe storm roll by at 11pm, very high winds. I was looking for a tornado.
Accidents on the route to work, so relaxing at home a bit.

I still want a drone, but don稚 want to get the license. I hate money grabbing taxes called licenses.
You may not need a license -
There was a post on here (I think) with a link to video reviews of recent drones and it seems someone has come out with a decent drone that slips under the licensing weight limit (250 grams).

/edit - looked it up YEAR 2020 - The BEST Low Cost Drones for Beginners - These are the ones I recommend - YouTube at about 15 minutes, DJI Mavic Mini

Good evening all. 50F for the start rain, windy, with .6 inch in rain gauge. Windy all day, rain through early afternoon, and high temp was 54F. Men's meeting started the day, inside putter day, did get wood wagon reloaded, no shopping done. Did get nap in, as well as dog walk during a break in the rain.
RNG it would be even scarier if Face knew you had voted!
Drew good news on good night's sleep.
Bill there are no bugs in TX in winter, just spring, summer, and fall :)
Billy never had a dealer charge freight before, does he normally stock them?
RNG nice to hear done to one last inspection, hope the drop off and bone density check all went OK
Ted hope knee replacement goes ok.
Rick we still have the general election this fall :(
David hope WX works out.
Randy stepdaughter or us still have to haul dog to vet. Weeds getting tall here no sign of green from grass.
Jay I can sleep through almost anything. I guess growing up with double track mainline railroad behind house probably helps :) cute road signs!
Ted enjoyed the video as usual.
prayers for all.

So, just got an email from the place I got the mower from, Betsco . They have a new coupon code offering 20% off until 2/21/2020. The code is: SPRING2020. I called them up, told them I had just ordered a mower a couple days ago and asked if they would apply the new discount....

Well, I found some great customer service.... they said no problem... we will issue a refund for the difference . That is over another $200 off. I will definitely deal with this company again.

Here is a link to their site:

Betstco Tractor Implements

They have lots of attachments if anyone is looking....

Sounds like a great deal 🤙

Good morning. Not much rain expected today. We managed to dodge it all yesterday, the excess surface water is starting to drain away nicely.

Sassy, so considerate of you to pretend to be tired, I'm sure Ron will be fine now his training is down to 15 minute sessions :)

He checked my pressure gauge on the gas pipe, asked me how long it had been on there (5-6 days) and let a few PSI out to make sure the gauge was working

RNG congrats on passing the inspection
Maybe Jay can help with any psychological aftershocks from discovering that you don't look trustworthy :D

Good morning, the temp is 29ーF and the high is supposed to be 34. Wind WSW 8 mph. Snow tonight, about 4" of it.

If when the wind comes out of the northeast and we get snow with it, is that what you guys on the coast call a "nor-easter"? With almost all of our cruddy weather the wind will be out of the east/northeast.

I got most of the piles relocated yesterday. About ten bucket loads to go.

A town run today and maybe move the remaining ten bucket loads, but don't hold your breath.

Have a safe day all

When we first bought our farmland 17 years ago, I was required as part of the sale to erect a 450 yard fence on what formed a new western boundary. I bought a book, watched a video and followed advice from a woodsman before putting in my first ever cleft oak fence, with every post hole dug by hand. I wasn't sure what the next neighbour's livestock would be, so I put pig netting at the bottom, a first strand of barbed wire a fist above it and four finger widths from that, a final topping of barb, all held taught by stout oak strainers.

Three years later we were unexpectedly fortunate to be able to buy the field next to that boundary and some dilapidated buildings which are now our home. It was a great feeling to cut a gateway through the middle of the fence to join it all together. I now cross that fence line every day, either through the gate, or when I'm walking, over the top of the wire and through a small copse down by the railway.

For some irrational reason, I never got around to taking down the barb from the copse, instead I just untwisted the spikes for a couple of feet and ever since have climbed over, although the barbs either side still managed on occasion to scratch an unwary hand, snag my jeans countless times and even puncture what were previously waterproofs. After 14 years I finally got around yesterday to dedicating a few minutes to pulling that short stretch of barb out completely, leaving just the pig netting. It is so much easier now, I should have done it long ago.

Anyone else have simple jobs, that have been waiting for years ?

good morning all.
48 going up to 55 today with steady rain coming in this afternoon.

I have good news/bad news. Good is Lymes test came back negative.
Bad is primary doc admits she has no idea what is causing my symptoms. Next step is referral to infectious disease specialist.
I'll give locals another couple of weeks, then I have to go elsewhere.

here's an interesting twist on public health:
it's a public health risk to force workers to choose between protecting themselves and others by staying home when they're sick and being able to feed their families.

The most significant public health threat we face? It's not shaking hands. It's not conferences. It's not even this President. It's our lack of federally mandated paid sick leave, combined with a health care system that makes seeking treatment potentially financially devastating for too many Americans.

I see this with my cleaning ladies, as they immediately say they can't afford to stay home when they come in sneezing.
So they come and infect my house...after they leave, I wipe down all touch points.
They think shiny is clean. Shiny is not clean...why I always ask them to use bleach when possible.

Eric, I waited five years to get that path to pond cleared. Very satisfying to get that done.

   / Good morning!!!! #107,670
Drinking first cup of coffee. 19° with mostly clear skies this morning. Heading to 46° with mostly cloudy skies. Got report back from last weeks biopsies of stomach. They were unremarkable. :confused3: I guess that means negative. Got a call into that Dr.
No real plans today. Maybe get rake out and clean up some of the leaves around garden pond.
Sandhill Cranes are making daily visits now that it has warmed up a little.

Eric, Sassy appreciates your understanding of her caregivers lack of stamina. Training started with learning to say "uh uh" while tapping on leash. Then the look from her that says what did you say I did not hear you first time. After yesterday I do not need to use leash. And yes we both took a rest after her 15 minute session.

Roy, sorry to hear about possible layoff. Best wishes it is only a rumor.

RNG, glad inspection went good.

LS, good video. Prayers and best wishes for your surgery.

Looking, I think your cat story is a little under stated. It was more the size of a Lion. Jay has the correct warning.

Drew, I use my Medicare D and Good RX for prescriptions. Local Walmart checks both prices and gives me best deal. My part D is a Humana/Walmart plan.

Prayers and best wishes for everyone.

Good Morning All.

Good morning! Clear skies after the 1.5" rain yesterday. 45˚F heading to 70˚F sunny.

Eric, yes I had a irritation a little job that was unnecessarily delayed. The fill valve in the bathroom commode was making a very loud sound during filling. A quick 10 minute change out job fixed it but I tolerated the noise for three months.

Drew, Have they completely ruled out medication side effects?

Not sure but storm rotates counter clock wise for nor'easter, but no matter what it's still storm got to deal with. :(

We all have our opinions about things, but criticizing the President or any other specific politician is the very definition of politics that most of try to avoid on this thread. Please.

I'm with you BEF. I'd like to have a drone, too, but if I'm going to pay the FAA for a license, it's going to be for something I can be inside of while it's flying.
The FAA doesn't require a license to fly drones weighing less than 250 grams. The DJI Mavic Mini weighs in at 249 g, and one should be here tomorrow.:D The Amazon reviews had very few problems with drone misbehavior during flights, with most of the complaints coming from disreputable sellers delivering accessory packages that didn't match the description. I've had really good luck with electronics from B & H Photo Video, and by using a PayBoo credit card, I got a discount equal to the sales tax. I also learned that if I was Canadian, the price would have been about a hundred bux less due to a retaliatory tariff.

Looks like you're starting to see a light at the end of the bureaucracy tunnel, RNG.

Still lots of potential snarls in the red tape possible ahead, Paul. I had to apply for a connection to the PG&E power grid, and I haven't heard anything back on that yet. And there's still the final inspection of the installed system before anything can be turned on. But it is nice that so far, at least, none of the horror stories my neighbors have experienced have been part of this journey. It could be that the "better to beg forgiveness than ask permission" approach doesn't work that well at the building department, and the time up front I spent asking questions ti find out what works (and what doesn't) will pay off.:crossfingers:
