About all I know about it is corn and sugar. I made lots of wine from grape concentrate juice, sugar and a little yeast.

Cornmeal, sugar, yeast and water. If yeast isn’t handy, a dead critter will kick it off as well. My family moved from NE Alabama to NE NC, to make whiskey, Feds got too tight on them in Alabama. Made the whiskey in NC and shipped by bus to the Norfolk area. They had quite an operation.

dug out the collected sand...felt like I was guilty of channelization, which I learned back in geology class was a bad thing....

Doesn’t stop the state from dredging a channel in the Chesapeak bay so the big boats can get into Baltimore, then tax us peasants to clean the polluted bay.

I have used TurboTax when it was on Floppy disk with very few problems over the years. When I did my mother’s taxes after she passed I had similar problems. Had to mail it in.

I still have my turbo tax floppies, if you need to do 1990 taxes.

Whew, busy day.
Wife got home from hospital, her dad started rehab. Discovered freezer isn’t working. Fortunately only half full or less. She packed all she could in two refrigerator freezers, set some meat in fridge to use. Still got no place for corn on cob.

I worked late, so got surprised on way home. I bailed water out of bottom. It’s cool but not cold. I put thermometer inside.

Made ribs in IP. Only did 1 rack, got another to do tomorrow or Saturday. Hamburgers were still frozen good.

Rained all day.

Good evening all. 24F for the start, partly cloudy, windy. Brisk wind again today, mostly clear, and high temp was 42F. Warming up next 2 days then back down again. Conservation of energy day again, stocking the fire and did get a nap in.

Jay glad the crampons are working for you. When living in Missouri, had a 3 inch sleet desposited, really could have used a pair for the next few days as 200 feet of 10% grade was too steep to drive up.

Good morning, the temp here is 12°F and it is going down to 10. Wind NNE 13 gusting to 22 mph. Periods of light snow overnight. We got about an inch, on top of the inch we got Tuesday overnight.

The block heater is turned on and I will be plowing today.

Good morning all. For the past two days the weather bucket has confidently predicted the ponds would be frozen over. This morning, with rising winds, it is not so sure.

Just out of curiosity was Procol Harem on your listening list?

They were certainly on my wife's, when we first met she had Procol Harem albums that I had never heard of. Never my thing, though I did give it a good try and which teenage boy wouldn't when a pretty girl invites you upstairs into her bedroom to listen. Now I think about it, her parents must have been serious Procol Harem fans, as they would find all sorts of excuses to randomly come into that room... :laughing:

Wng, it's worth looking at your pressure washer spec, most of the gas powered pumps I have seen will accept a short length of suction hose with a filter to draw water from a stream.

wow, 4 inches of rain last night, going to be lakes in the lawn for sure.
And now the high winds come, peaking mid morning.
Just hoping no trees down; friend could not get home due to big pine tree across road. For once I did not volunteer
to help since I'm going for back MRI this afternoon...though who knows what I'll find when the sun comes up.

slept well last night, maybe it was the pouring rain noise, never heard any boomers

Need to pour first cup of coffee. 25ｰ with some clouds this morning. Heading 29ｰ with cloudy skies. Got about 4" of fluffy snow over the last 2 days. Going to get some seat time cleaning drive and dog walk area. Then do weekly grocery shopping. May make a trip up to Rural King to help get rid of a little cabin fever. Then back to conserve energy.
So many bird pictures lately hard to pick one.


Lots of rain for some. Be careful out there. Do not cross flooded area's.

Drew, when I have stopped at RV service places they were asking $125/hr. That does not mean that you will get a qualified mechanic/tech working on you RV. I have found that mobile techs are the best for something like an appliance or your lights. May not be one near your area though.

I sure liked using Don's grapple during my visits. Made trail clearing much easier. My little home made grapple and long tooth bar is what I will make do on my little tractor.
