Good morning!!!!

68 at home, 58 here in Stafford, VA where I crash. Big T-Storm is inbound for this morning until just after lunch, then it should be a nice weekend.

I'm leaving as soon as the rain diminishes. Headed to a buddies place in Hagerstown MD. he just happens to be a pastor and a good advisor as well as a friend.

First meeting with the my new therapist last night... While it may not be all my fault, there is plenty to work with and we will be trying to make me a better man, husband, father, etc... I am way too task oriented, and not enough relationship oriented, and offend people without even knowing it...

I'm in the process of looking into a decent small house closer to town, where they could keep chickens & ducks, to purchase for my family to live in and make their life easier. I would move back to the farm which I will refi in this process to reduce payments, and when we all reconcile someday, then we will all move somewhere together and sell/rent whatever is left. It is a thought... Gives me something to do...

Be well all of you, especially Ron's Mom.

David

61 this morning with clouds rain and storms last night showers this morning clearing this morning with highs in the 70s. Really nice weekend coming up

The weather has been nice down here in Lower New York, (West Palm Beach is really lower New York and Miami is acutely northern Cuba).

Spring is here, we have put all the blankets away. Summer starts when you can sleep all night with the windows open, in a few weeks.

We had some rain the other day. We gauge rain a bit different down here. It is not truly considered rain until you can sit on the front porch and not see the house across the street. Until then it is only high humidity.

It is a å*µood rain when you are riding down the road in a Cadillac and cannot find the hood ornament, and it is a really good rain when you are riding down the road in a Cadillac and cannot find the windshield wipers.

Hoping to be moving up to Ten Mile, TN soon.

daugen, thoughts and prayers my friend.
64 and showers so far, headed to Front Royal in the morning for an overnighter with the son's family, then home to make tacos for my mom's 90th birthday.

David, you say you offend people without knowing it...we all do that at times, and there are jerks like myself, who KNOW they offend people and sometimes don't care...

Rain total is nearing 5" for this Monday-Friday combined, heading out to my brothers to help with second day of his garage sale at 9 am. Bye, guys.

stefanie, welcome to TBN...I have friends and relatives in middle TN near Nashville, love the state, I just wish they had a deposit law there as the roadside litter is very severe in places.

Daugen,

50 heading to 75!

I'm shocked! Wow! What a difference in temperature for one county away. We were at 38 F this morning just before sunrise and now we are only up to 41 F. Like you, we will make it up to the mid-'70s today, but our starting temperature is really quite different.

David (sodamo): Snacks can totally wipe out a diet in no time flat. Also, little prepared food items like breakfast burritos are full of calories and fat. They are diet bombs. A tiny serving is exploding in calories and fats. I have begun to look to 'no sugar added' fruit cocktail in cans and frozen fruit as my snacks. I find the natural sweetness in fruit is very satisfying and the bulk fills me up to eliminate hunger. There are great low-cal yogurts around that are much better than eating other dairy based products like cheese. When I want a snack, I grab canned fruit or cut up an apple. If I want to really make it sinful, I mix fruit and yogurt for a creamy snack. It just doesn't take long to pack in calories if you eat nuts, chips, or granola bars. Those things only make you crave more and you are never satisfied. They turn you into a serial snacker, and that is the death of your diet.

David (mossflower woods): All that counseling is probably good, but we are creatures of habit. Force yourself to be more people oriented and less task oriented. As we used to say in the aviation training business, "Perfect practice makes perfect performance." Also, don't be afraid to admit mistakes. I used to have a dear friend who was a black minister. One of his favorite sayings was, "A car and a man ain't no good without a reverse gear." In order to change direction, sometimes you have to back up first.

Good Morning! It's beautiful here in central Texas, not a cloud in the sky, 48˚ shooting up to 78˚, everything is green green green.

Going to fire up the RTZ to even out the yard and the hawks and I can see the snakes. The rest of the fields will not be mowed till July after the wildflowers seed if we have rain. Otherwise this will be year three that I have not mowed the fields.

Sodamo, 6dogs gives good advice for your longterm diet plan, and it has the side benefit of being heart healthy. Eliminating those late evening snacks, that become a habit, is also a good step in the right direction. We always make an announcement after the dinner dishes are washed that "THE KITCHEN IS NOW CLOSED".

Light rain and showers for today, a little cooler with a high of 9C/48F.
Got some of my biggest firewood rounds moved yesterday.

It's 38F here in south central MO, at 9:08. I was awakened by the girlfriend shooting a tree rat off a bird feeder. Usually, I get to bed about 1:30am.

Have a great day all,

thanks David, and Randy, and...
so many of us share the same challenge.
My wife has been at this for six years, and is coming to her end soon.
It's just hard to imagine, but then so many things are.
One day at a time.
But, she'll be with me forever, or as long as a Kubota 5740 lasts, which is way longer than I will.
no replies please...it just clogs up the thread and I'm doing ok. Thanks.

I didn't need a jacket to feed the livestock this morning, or when opening gates to the pasture. It may have dropped a couple of degrees after I left for work, because I was out the door way before sunup. Went to work in a short sleeve shirt, and never put on a jacket. So I don't think we got down into the 30s.

<snip>

I find that is so true, those sugar & fat foods are addictive. You crave the next snack. I think that is by chem lab design in many foods. It takes at least three days of no junk food for the craving to stop.

One thing I notice, if I eat good, real food like veggies and fruits my system is somehow more satisfied with fewer cravings.

Are those overnight temperatures normal for the time year Jim, or are you an extended cool streak? We usually do garden covering here, old blankets, sheets, etc., spring and fall for frost protection.

Lots of fiber type things, easy on the sugar and the challenge is to keep from losing too much. Very few processed foods as well. Seems where you live would be natural for fruits and vegetables.

.

Good Afternoon sixdogs,
My wife swears by those fiber gummies, heck they might work on me but I like my beer too much ! :)

Yeah, not much fiber in beer. For fiber, try four dried apricots and see what happens.

Yeah, not much fiber in beer. For fiber, try four dried apricots and see what happens.

In Europe, apricots were long considered an aphrodisiac, and were used in this context in William Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream, and as an inducer of childbirth, as depicted in John Webster's The Duchess of Malfi.

Due to their high fiber to volume ratio, dried apricots are sometimes used to relieve constipation or induce diarrhea. Effects can be felt after eating as few as three.

four apricots hmmm? Personally, I'm a prune man, but apricots taste a zillion percent better.
