Just got a text notice from DHL that the studio monitor stands I ordered Monday night from a company in York, UK will be delivered today. Impressive. Over 4K miles in less than two days.

Learning more about driveshafts and u-joints, and found a couple of very informative videos that explain the vibration I'm seeing.

The posts on this topic remind me of the summer I spent in Anchorage working at the garage/tire dealership owned by my younger brothers. A customer came in with an almost new pickup truck and said it had a vibration that the dealer had not been able to identify and correct after several visits. They had checked tire balance, but he decided to have a tire dealer check it. So, after driving the truck and putting it up on the lift for inspection, my younger brother told him he thought the problem was the u-joints on the driveshaft, and told the customer what we'd charge, parts and labor, to change them. The customer was understandably a bit reluctant since the dealer had assured him the u-joints were just fine, since they were good and tight. My brother told him, "Yep, tight they are and I think that's your problem. We'll replace them and I've already told you how much it'll cost. But if that doesn't fix the problem, you'll have brand new u-joints and owe us nothing." Needless to say, that fixed the problem and we had another happy customer.

65°F and .23 inches rain.

Found some seals and o rings for my backhoe, maybe I get lucky and fix the leaks. Will be very handy for my trenching.

Drew, that big project has mostly been on hold last several weeks due to weather, my cabinet diversion, , tractor challenges, taxes, now this. At least adding the high pressure line from tank to tractorshed is contributory.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

Lawnmower is ready for grass to start growing. My arm is pain free. But my fall a couple of weeks ago is still painful when trying to get into tight places. Couple of Tylenol and back to saving energy.

Hope those ailments get better, Ron. I mowed our yard this morning before the mist started, more rain expected tonight. Of course today was the third time I've mowed this month, three times last month, and once in February.

David, don't think of it as an unwanted cut in the concrete, think if it as a needed expansion joint to prevent future cracks and it is conveniently located where you can lay new pipe.

For replacing your gas line sometimes a person can open up both ends,
then pull the old pipe out while using it to pull the new line in.
No trenching required one opening at each eand or segment.
Good Luck

that's the spirit, I'm sure David was going to cut it all up anyway...:D
And those concrete saws are such a pleasure to be around.
But then David's infrastructure project should be finishing.
Until he builds his miniature fusion reactor that runs on pineapple juice.

lawn care guys got done in two hours what the last bunch did in three.
Now I go see what got haircuts that shouldn't have but so far so good.
And if they can get it done in two hours, I can afford to get it done a few extra times each month.

Ran the Farmall up and down the potatoes, everything is looking ok out there, next time I have to put the hiller back on and fling some dirt back up on top of the taters. Then back to cultivating, setting tines wider as the plant gets bigger.
That's the theory.
I think the oil pressure gauge stayed a little higher this time at the end with 40W in there now.
However my energy pressure gauge is currently on zero.
Time for a shower and rest. Then get prepared for volunteers coming in tomorrow morning to pick collards and help weed
the veggies.

Sprayed Home Defense Max around the foundation , vents, windows and doors. Carpenter bees have all but disappeared, as have the wasps.
66, sunny and breezy, supposed to be in the 80s tomorrow. Ran off a groundhog, or rather Ellen did. She yelled at one last July and I never saw it again. She is the groundhog screamer!
Getting ready to head out front and work on my pavers, after seven years the edges need some attention.

Good Afternoon Everyone!!!!!

A clear 26ºF for today’s low; high temp today was a sunny 60ºF. Increasing upper level clouds as the front starts approaching We had a bear visitor early this AM. It took down the lone feeder outside (thistle) and emptied it without damaging the feeder. Brogen made its and his presence known. A loud start to the morning. A decent walk of the lower perimeter, had lunch with Wifey before PT and picked up some hardware and chain to bear proof the metal ashcans used for bird food storage outside on the way home. PT is going really well = Mr. Knee is stiff. Cans are ready for hopefully bear aggravating tonight.

David- A really nice bird’s eye/P3 view of your place. Thanks for sharing. Your “Evolving Design” seem pretty well thought out. My “evolving design” is still evolving with movement at a glacial rate.:embarrassed: or maybe more on a more cosmic timescale. Good luck with your concrete work.

…. When I was young there was still a great social divide between upper class fly anglers who fished exclusively for salmon and trout and working class anglers who were happy to catch anything.- Eric. Happy Birthday!!! I believe there was a similar social divide here as well during the 1800’s. (still is, but different nowadays). I need to find that bamboo flyrod. It was a 13’ “Salmon Rod” with the old fashioned ring line guides. I think it was made by Orvis. The commoners around here fished for shad during their Spring spawning runs. The Bryant family apparently had great wealth. Colonel John Bryant was a cousin to the poet William Cullen Bryant. His house is also near here.

Drew- Your problems finding reliable help and the business practices of some of the local businesses with whom you must deal is saddening.

RNG- Good luck with the vibration challenges.

I hope that everyone’s day was productive and without incident.

My + thoughts, wishes, and prayers.

Kyle, here is the pic of the wood amp for a cell phone. On the top is a slot where the phone sets. IMG_2844.JPG

While at the shop I signed up for 3 classes next month.
A few pics from their display case and store.

Our N.Va. community had gas lines replaced a few years ago and that's how they did virtually all of the houses. Pulled what looked like heavy duty PEX from a hole in the street, under pavement, curb and sidewalk to the house, about 50 feet or so.

Interesting concept, Lou. More thought required and I’ll ask the plumber.

Current line is 3/4 iron pipe and will be replaced with 3/4 poly. I don’t know if OD is same. I only have 8 ft dirt space at house end and tank end immediately goes into hillside so not much room to work.

Ted, only appliance temporarily missing at this point is kitchen hot water. That will be fixed next week. Everything else has work around in place.

Don- Awesome displays of quality woodworking. Thanks for sharing. Good luck.... Count your fingers.;)

This happens all the time down in the Valley; never a real/understandable description of what really happened; and no evidence of intoxicants. In the good old days when the State Hospital was operating there was always a nut or 2 on every corner in "Center City" entertaining the public...... I knew a lot of them (maybe even might have even hung out with them sometimes:cool:), none were that stupid or crazy.

Halfway home on Rt9 there is a Hamlet named "Lithia" due to the purity of natural state Li+ that was mined/quarried in the 1700's. Everyone smiles around there. My well is farther away and higher, but deep;).

Roy travels up and down I91 all along the CT River basin.
