Never did get outside much, spent time confirming details of my trip North, lots of emails, got everyone's contact info written down, probably enter addresses into gps tomorrow. then curled up in my favorite orthopedic recliner and read my book.

I've been thinking about how the Audi service people, much less their product people feel, after my multi-paragraph basically scathing description of the repeated dangerous failings of their AI cruise control in certain traffic conditions. I'm sure that went over well when they sent that upstairs.
This is all new tech and Audi is pretty liability sensitive, they haven't brought their best stuff over to this country yet due to our legal system.
So stating that a current system is stupid and unsafe to a bunch of German engineers isn't likely to get me on the Christmas card list.
But every word was true. In their quest to one up MB and BMW, I don't think they tested this enough in real world US conditions.
Maybe it works on the Autobahn. This is our future coming at us. But when you combine intrusive with stupid, well it's like a really bad houseguest. Give Audi full credit for being able to turn it off. Who knows, in another year, they may reflash my computer and put in a new version.

We are going to have to get our wheelchairs reclad in tractor design. :dance1:
Actually some of the powerchairs they have now are really cool, one guy drives one down a local road which
seems like a really bad idea. Golf cart with lights and reflectors would be a lot safer, if legal.

Made the trip to Elizabeth City andw3 had lunch with Joyce, took Gracie with us, such a well behaved dog. Got dad’s markers cleaned up and the tree planted, as it were.

Good evening all. 42F for the start, overcast, calm wind, trace of rain from Thursday. Overcast remained all day, light steady rain start early afternoon, Temps got up to 44F then have dropped to 41F. Had planned on inside work, have some software issues on computer, they are partially cleared up, but still can't install base camp on desktop . Also have some consulting to do.

Need to pour first cup of coffee. 18° with partly cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 30° with partly cloudy skies. Got power washer in to cellar and used it to clean floor. Works very well and makes very little noise compared to my Honda powered washer. Off to get a MRI this morning. Then work on assembling Quickjack. It's cluttering up my shop. No other plans today.

Watched a couple of Pearl Harbor tributes yesterday on youtube. :thumbsup:

Good morning all. A leisurely start to the day for me, I could see from the window the sheep had wandered far from where I feed them, so I didn't feel too guilty at serving up their breakfast a little late.

RNG, if you are short on time to make a metal box for your next gate battery, how about just putting a small paving slab on top. A rubber snake or spider below could possibly deter thieves better than a cheap lock

this is quite a storm heading across country. Record snows in areas, huge amount of rain in Texas again. Thankfully by the time it gets here close to the coast the temps have warmed, but we have heavy rain predicted tonight and all tomorrow. 15-25mph winds. Greenhouse should be ok in that, though I just might go sink a few more hold-down screws today. A little more cheap insurance. Storm isn't going North this time, so tomorrow morning at least I'll be driving out of rain instead of in it.

The reality of geriatrics? Filling morning and night pill boxes for two weeks, dropping the pill into the wrong day, having to fish it out without
spilling pills, dropping one on the floor so it always goes back in to the dark recesses under some cabinet.
and when done, a sense of relief, got that done for two weeks.

Always said I would limit the pills I took to whatever fit in those little boxes.
AMA wants me to take more and sleep most of the day. I chose door B. Even then I would like to get off modern medicine and try plant based, like CBD. I already take fish oil and turmeric-curcumin. Never found the shark stuff to help at all. Might be a consideration on where my last home is, what State. I don't trust the internet on illegal substances, well illegal in NC.
I'd rather ache than go to jail. Or have a felony conviction in some backwater court presided over by a born again judge. It just isn't worth it.

Plans for today... dump run,fuel for tractor pickup,get critter food,Mrs. to super market all before noon,this afternoon collect game cams from the woods etc.,finish putting generator back together,watch some college football....subject to change at anytime.
Guess I better get outside feed little critters before they come a knocking yelling,and pre warm up pickup before bouncing down the road.

28 high of 40 today snow tomorrow but not really sure how much but as said before NC storm. See where temperatures rise thru next week into 50s. In about 7 to 10 days very large rains coming more flooding I guess. Should be mild thru Christmas
