Sounds like you are doing quite a bit of mods on the new bumpers, RNG

frontTrim.jpg

The front one just needed a little trim on the top up next to the body. A saber saw with a coarse wood blade went through it like butter. Soon as I'm finished here with lunch, they'll get coated with bed liner.

Much cruder than most of you guys
Somehow managed to mangle the front chain guard on my brushhog and loose the chains.

Straightened what was left and cut some chain

Good evening all. 51F this morning, overcast, trace of rain in gauge, calm wind. Less wind than yesterday, Threat of rain most of the day but nothing happened until mid afternoon, and high temp got to 57F. Not much chance of rain till Friday, then few more days till next chance, still well below average temps. Men's meeting to start the day, bike ride, glue repair lasted 20 miles, just loosened the mounting bolt and shoved what is left of the bracket underneath the bolt and tighten. Has lasted 10 miles so far :eek:ptimist: Did get a nice nap today :cool2:
Eric, hope the new houses don't mess with your farming!
Billie hope your back improves and your arm survives the dog sitting. Scooter can get "bossy" when we dog sit him.
Thomas understand the land mine issue, had the same problem with the geese that nested next door when I lived in Missouri.
Drew, I would rather have a golf cart like Don's than a new tractor, of that is alright with you :D
Prayers for all

Sure hope you find those lost chains before you mow next time, David.

Told wife same thing. I do have a vague idea where, but not sure. Basically, chains are 4 links long, the cable that held them close to 2 ft. Very possible they came off one at a time, but I’m hoping they came off near same time.

David, no need for you to walk around stooped looking. Program your drone for a low level search pattern and sit back with a beer while it does the searching for you :)

I didn’t know you could do that. Are you saying these things can fly on their own like auto-pilot? Or do you still have to fly the things? I’ve stayed away from them thinking I just don’t have pilot skills. Guess I should look into them at any rate. 🧐

A few thin wisps of mist this morning. It looks like being a great day, the birds are singing their hearts out and the concrete pecker joined in too at exactly 7:30 and will no doubt run all day again like it's been doing all week. Someone is making sure they get their moneys worth if that machine is on hire.

Had a look at the latest house plans online yesterday and did a little measuring with google. The development boundary is 83m away to the west of our closest field.

View attachment Site Plan.pdf

A public footpath runs from the site along the full length of all our fields, so once the houses are built we can expect to see a significant increase in the number of people out walking with their dogs. That could raise a few issues, but I'm hopeful there will be nothing than can't be quickly sorted as generally most people are easy to get on with. On the positive side, houses without good internet access are difficult to sell - they are almost certain to put a new telecoms connection box half a mile further up the road from where it is now to service that many houses and our own broadband may consequently improve. All in all I think my wife would like to have more people around and if that makes her happy then so am I ;)

Good morning all, 44 going to 54 and sunny, NWS is using the frost word for tonight but scattered so it will likely not be here. Need to go to the dump and take the dog to the groomers. Also have a meeting today. Won't get much else done.

Eric, 70 more homes looks like you will have a lot of new neighbors. WOW

David, Hope you find the chains before the mower does. I found the key to the shop last night walking the dog but the mower had already found it.

Have a great day, prayers sent. Ed

Holding back on coffee this morning. 24° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 52° with lots of sun. Dr. Appointment early this morning. Then will have my coffee. Arm is sore this morning some reason this morning.

Eric, having houses close by can be a good thing. But dogs with owners that cannot properly handle them can be a problem. We have 2 neighbors that have dogs that bark all the time they are outside. Both are over 500' from me. Not a real problem. Not real problem. But the people that live next to them have to listen to the barking all day. I am sure your sheep will not like barking dogs.

Prayers for all.

Good Morning All.

Good morning,

Winter is on its' way, dam it! 19 and going to a high of 43. Wind WNW 15 mph. A mix of sun and cloud.

The hard part on the shelter is done. All the framework is up. Shelter Logic shorted me 32 nuts, so he had to stop. The legs are in place but not fastened together, yet. He will be back on Saturday early (8) to do the rest. I will go out today and get a box of 1/4" nuts. After it is all up I will go around and screw it down to the platform. I've got a bunch of 3/8" lag bolts and a 1/2" impact gun.

Eric, as you well know, dogs will chase anything that runs away. That being said, what are you going to do when your sheep start showing up dead due to heart attacks from being run into the ground by neighbours' dogs? Leash laws mean nothing to city people moving into the country.
It might be time to acquire a good rifle and scope. A Lee-Enfield .303 can be drilled and tapped for a scope. I am assuming you are allowed a rifle to protect your sheep from predators.

Have a good day all

42 going to 58.

May get down to freezing tonight, at least should be our first frost. I have a field of blooming sunflowers and sorghum, and beans and peas forming...I guess that will be the end of that.

Eric, all I can say is what a bummer. It looks like there are a lot of nice plantings planned/required, and hopefully, a nice exterior for the homes, but that's a tough change when you're used to open spaces and the sounds of nature. I know you'll make the best of it, and probably find some new friends.

Cleaned out under my shelter yesterday...threw out some old junk and scraps that never "came in handy" as planned. Filled the pickup bed and made my wife happy. Picked up a Mega millions ticket on the way home from the dump, but I already know it's not the winner, since we all know who has the winning ticket. :)

A cool 50 degrees only going up to 65.
I only get sick about once every two or three years, always congestion in lungs and boy did it show up yesterday afternoon.
Spent afternoon and night hacking and coughing, but a variety of decongestants are doing their job. I bet I picked up something
when I went to the food pantry.
Got the FEL lubed and did a little other work but felt progressively worse so came in at lunchtime.
Nice sunny day today, hope to venture out doing something. Might do a little lawn mowing in the sunshine.

Put the heat on finally. Fall is here.
