Drew, do you hold the record for new vehicles since joining GM?

My tractorshed cleaning has taken on a life of its own. Should. Be a trash run today. Maybe put up a couple new shelves.

Prayers for all

Be safe
Have a great day

Good afternoon everyone. A decent line of Storms has arrived and I decided to take the opportunity to check in. This thread requires a lot of reading. I need to catch up.

Wifey is still the the immobilizing sling, and as most of you know from your own spousal duties the additional household duties make for challenging timeframes for property maintenance and staring blankly at a computer monitor :embarrassed: :(. The equipment that I have checked so far is operational, I made some decent progress on the yard work, and the tiller is on the tractor (minus PTO driveshaft). It looks like a small garden for 2 will be happening this year. :D

Historically people plant their gardens around Memorial Day, and I am no different. I have no clue as to when gardeners north of/colder than here plant.... July?

I have been religiously recording all daily caloric intake and taking my blood sugars 3X/day now. My blood sugars have been all over the place since "The Self Improvement Plan" began. First I was high (for me) requiring more insulin, and now I am consistently not taking lunch time insulin. I do not know why this is happening? Reduction in consumed alcohol? The strict adherence to the anti-inflammation diet/Mediterranean Diet? The increased physical activity? The CBD? The ginger root & honey? I have bloodwork ordered and a physical scheduled for early May. I have not found much understandable information on how/why ginger root affects sugar levels?

David an Sophie- I hope that you maintain power and are still out of harm's way.

Rswyan- I hope your doctor visit went well and w/o surprises.

My + thoughts, wishes, and prayers for all.

possibly...?
2012 Cadillac XTS (wife)
2013 Toyota Avalon (sold to close friend, hard for me to get in after neck operation)
2014 Ram Cummins dually (never bought the fifth wheel rv to go with it, bought this farm instead)
2015 Ram 1500 most comfortable Ram after least comfortable Ram.
2017 Subaru Outback because 2 years ago the Q5 still didn't have latest safety tech

I admit it is part of life's entertainment.

What is not good is serious rise in loan interest rates. My bank line of credit keeps going up and new car loans are in the 4 percent range now.
Gasoline is up half a dollar a gallon. Lot of cost of living impact.

I hoed all my beets and melons and carrots today. Mowed most of the lawn.
Ran the sprinklers, almost forgot to turn them off, just ran out to the garden and threw the main lever.
Need to put the inline water timer on that line tomorrow. Of course soaking the garden like I just did will bring
on rain tomorrow for sure. But it was dry today...

I've been looking at Google Maps trying to figure out where David could get his car moving with any speed, I'm guessing through those nature preserves and forests.
Are there motorcycle cops behind every coconut tree?

this morning in Ram dealership while waiting for car service I strolled into showroom, new weird green Challenger Demon on showroom floor.
Really does look like a race car. Regular Hellcat is pretty tame compared to this thing. 92 grand. At least I didn't see a markup sticker.

And the Camaro Exorcist will still out run it.

Mounted my sprayer today, only to find I lost another wand to freezing this winter. I drain them, hang them up and they still freeze and burst. I think next winter I’ll take it off and bring it in the house!

All 4 bee traps are up. Nothing in them yet. Did get rid of 1 bee and a wasp. Used my old way of doing them in. Spray can of CRC Brakeleen.

Daughter running weed wacker was short lived.. I purchased fresh non ethanol gas last night and mixed up some fuel for it, but did not purchase any trimmer string because I know I have two rolls, one that I had with older trimmer, and a new unused package that we bought with the new trimmer last summer. I could not find any more line for it anywhere so she ran until it was empty... too hot today to do more anyway. I'll get some more and after filling the spool on the trimmer, will find the rolls I lost when I put the new stuff away.. all good fun.

Pouring down rain right now. Eating at Bdubs. Ordering dessert, since we will be awhile. Hen party at home
Massive hail storm now.
Flash flood warning popped up on my phone.

Hawkeye, don't you ever wonder how you can lose something that orange? I do it all the time...
Have learned to buy things like gardening tools with bright colors on them. It helps...

I got a lot done today and feel good about what was accomplished, particularly before the rains come in. I had to pull out all the soaker hose today
on two long lines of carrots and beets and melons in order to hoe around them. Hoping the coming daily thunderstorms will provide some relief from watering.

Be careful Buckeye and others. Flooding in NW too. Spring thaw and big storms are doing their thing.
Plus the high setting on the global Instapot is keeping the weather very active.

Camaro ZL1 would be just fine as a keeper.
I'll buy us both one if I hit the lottery.
I wish they would make the Camaro interior nicer like they did the Vette and the Mustang.
I think it still looks pretty cheesy. Outside is marvelous.
An old RS with a 327 and a stick would be a hoot.

2.29 inches of rain since Saturday night, no longer in immediate need of rain.

I was buying Mother痴 Day cards for my daughter and daughter in law, standing there looking at the categories, when I saw (Wife), I just started crying like a baby, I guess I知 not over that stage, 42 years was a long time though.

I am so sorry Randy. I did not think I'd ever get over my brother's death. It hit me hard, and that was way back in '90. But nowadays, I find myself laughing mostly when I remember all the crazy stuff he did. His B'day was May 10th. He played a right handed guitar upside down, finger picking style. He could play Croce, James Taylor, Gordon Lightfoot, Taj Majal, and many, many other artists. He usually played 2 or 3 command performances of Alice's Restaurant on Thanksgiving for his friends....He came home stuffed, from meals that couldn't be beat.

Details please! What color, our Forester has 97K miles was thinking of trading it in. Post a few pics.

What extras do you have on it. I could fly down and drive it back.

Uhhmmmmm, that'd be fly UP and drive it back down....

Starting off with quite a thick mist this morning. I'm not complaing, in my haste to get out yesterday I missed part of my neck when rubbing in sun screen, then couldn't get to sleep last night for the sun burn.

Andrew, that has to be one of the best formal family pictures ever !
"we've only got 4 kids, so far" . Photographer may be needing a wider angle lens if you have too many more :)

That love affair with diesels is cooling in Europe, thanks to VW's cheating. Diesels dropped 40% in the UK last year, now accounting for just 33% of new car sales.

Diesels used to be much more economical to run, however the engine improvements over the last few years have narrowed that gap. The mpg figures for vehicles sold in the UK always tend to look good - our vehicles drink generous imperial gallons, not those diminutive US gallons that leave the engine always feeling thirsty for more

Mazda has supposedly harnessed running a gasoline engine like a late model diesel. Using split second timing of high pressure fuel injection into a really high compression cylinder. It has the potential to CHANGE THE WORLD.

Mazda Says Its Next-Generation Gasoline Engine Will Run Cleaner Than an Electric Car

If they get this to market reliably, I will be a huge Mazda fan.

Came home from work, had to pressure wash the love bugs off the car. Then I watered the garden and picked 5 nice yellow squash. Waiting for the tomato explosion....Hope I ain't counting my chickens too early.

Also sanded the 4310's fender grab handles. They are made from a glass reinforced plastic/rubber and as they age, the glass fibers become rather itchy and bothersome, so I just take some 150 grit or so, and sand them a bit by hand. Works great.

We let the chickens roam outside of the pen for the first time, for a while tonight. We had all hands on deck to round them up if they decided to split, but they hung around.

I need to mix up some roundup and go spray it in the middle of our pasture on this weird weed that somebody called bunch grass. It is like dallis grass on steroids, only it likes to grow about 4-5 feet tall if you let it. It is like cutting steel cable when you try to shred it...

Drew, I want a ride in your boat when you hit the lottery. :) I will mix drinks to make myself handy.

Prayers for Rip and wife, Bef, Jay's wife, everybody's aches and pains, and rs too.

rs, I saw on the Austin news about people putting their plecos in the San Marcos river. They've hired a guy who snorkels with a Hawaiian gig and he brings up bunches of them there in San Marcos. They have actually installed a garden pond tub with a sign for people to "Put unwanted aquarium fish here" to combat the situation. My pleco is about 9.5 years old, and about 9" in length. He is starting to harass my angel fish, not sure why??? If he continues, he might be turned into compost. My middle daughter named him Albert. Not sure why. On 2nd thought, I might take him to my old barber's tank that is so full of algae, you can't see into it...

Best trimmer line I’ve ever used. I’ve also been using same, in .155 on my Swisher trimmer.

Good evening all. 70F for the start, partly cloudy and near calm wind and .7 in rain + irrigation in gauge. Wind was a bit weird, gust up to 15 mph but would fall off to almost calm, sky cloudiness up and down, rain line fell apart before it got to me but kept the high temp down to 85F. Cleaning lady prep, then bike ride then nap and dog walk.
prayers for all.

How 'bout recoating them with epoxy resin, cloth bicycle handlebar tape, or bed liner? That'll save you time in the long run, and your hands.
