We could have bought another house for that much money. Of course, this is where we plan to grow old together, so it was worth it to fix what needed to be fixed and make it ours. It's just money, right?

You only get one life to live, and you can't take it with you. YES, I'm thinkin' you made the right decision.

Wife installed the new cordless shades in the sunroom yesterday, so that room is now officially finished.

Are those the Levelor shades that you can push up on the bottom or pull down the top to adjust how much of the window they cover? If so, if they aren't exercised regularly, they tend to freeze up and not retract to the fully open position. Levelor will warranty them once, but then you're on your own when the replacement starts to do the same thing. DAMHIKT:muttering:

BEF- I wish your Father Happy Birthday and hope that he has many more in good health and happiness. I also want to express my thanks for his military service. Thanks to him and many like him, like my late Father, we have the freedoms for which they and their comrades and allies fought and died. The "Greatest Generation" description is an understatement.

A mixed cloud/sun day here today. Temperatures ~freezing early AM and should get into the 40f's later today.

"Something" tried stealing the suet/suet cage this AM. The snow is pretty solid so there were no tracks. It was on the ground nearby and still basically loaded up The cage was unable to be opened due to the zipties. I suspect the ravens.

There is at least one coy-wolf in the area based on tracks.

I should get a decent game cam and set it up around here.

Andrew- I am happy to read that you got a seatbelt for your tractor. I like the price too ;)

Ed- I hope Mom's condition has improved.

David- I hope Sophie has a pain manageable day.

My + thoughts, wishes, and prayers for all.

Happy Birthday BEF's dad! Thank him for me!
My grandfather was in the 4th infantry. Not exactly sure but IIRC he was at the battle of the bulge too.

Good Morning! 60˚ cloudy, warm south wind.

Yesterday I surprised my self. I mowed the yard, the extended yard, weedeated everything and blew off the pavers and sidewalks. Never got tired. I've noticed this extra energy started about two weeks ago about a week after I stopped taking statins. Before I would mow about half and take a nap. The food has not changed and when everyone said they had more energy being on this diet I always though I feel about the same, now I know the statins were bringing me down. The Jump start of the 5 day fast helped also and have stayed 10 pounds lighter. Of course the cooler temps could also be a contributing factor. And, no it's not caffein, I've been off caffein for three weeks.

Today I have some cleaning behind the barn to do and then mulch mom's gardens and do her grocery shopping.

Today looks like the day TBN will top 5 million posts. Who will be the 5 millionth poster?????

A belated Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Muhammad on their marriage and Happy birthday Buckeye Senior.

Glad to hear it Don....Does this change your future plans any?

I still minimize my caffeine.

I don't remember off hand what they are, but pretty sure they are not the Levelor brand. Similar design, though, and they came with instructions to exercise them regularly for that very reason. We have them in all the other windows in the house, and most of them get fairly regular movement, especially on sunny days. When she ordered them online in stock sizes, the company called her almost immediately and asked for the exact measurements of each window, so they could custom fit them to 1/8". They did, and the fit is perfect, at no extra charge.

Good morning all, 38 going to 49 and sunny. Got up at 5 and had quiet time and fell asleep in the recliner. Thanks for the prayers and concern.

Happy birthday BEF's dad and thanks for your service for the country. He is 6 days younger than my mom.

Have a great day. Ed

BEF, happy birthday to your dad, it must be springtime again.

Didn't get chance to check in this morning as I had to get round the fields early in time to be collected by a driver from the nearest Subaru dealership. It took about an hour to get there and by that point the very pleasant young man had given me an insight into what life was like when he lived on a canal boat (low taxes, cold in winter with condensation everywhere and most definately wet when you take a single step in the wrong direction).

Collected my XV (aka Crosstrek), drove home and parked it outside the house.
Here it is, err, except

XV - Gone.jpg

:confused3: Before I could take the picture, my wife had taken the spare key and dreamt up some lame excuse about needing to fetch tomato compost !

Hahaha ... reminds me of a story. I dated a girl for awhile in the mid-'90s who had worked as a river barge hand ("river rats" she called them) for awhile when she lived in Florida. According to her, any error that ended with you unintentionally in the water was considered so grievous that it required immediate resignation in shame upon return of the tug to its port of origin.

I have an abundance of interesting stories from my time with her. I called her The Nutbar ... no chocolate, no caramel, no nougat ... just nuts.

42 today. Cloudy. Only light showers over night.

Just home from the doctor with the youngest. One of the ear tubes that were installed only 6 weeks ago has fallen out. Doctor says very rarely happens this fast. It’s sealed over and infected. Will replace with titanium tubes and remove adenoids in about 2 weeks.

Come home to find crew checking out chicken coops. I had marked location for windows for them. Supposed to be here on Monday. I’m fine with them being early. They did call and ask if they could start today. They said 2-2 1/2 days per barn is what they’ve been doing with a 3 man crew. They have 5 today. Charge is flat rate per window.

I also stopped statins a few weeks ago. Haven’t been having as many “bad days”. But still have the constant leg pain.

Good morning to all! Nice temp of about 60 outside right now, winds are starting to pick up as predicted  Spring here it's always windy. It's when they start hitting gust of 50 mph, it gets old real fast.

Spent almost 2 hours this morning writing an email to the regional service manager. Don't have a breakdown issue, but an issue with poor design. It was reported back in October to have a fix, but wasn't shipped from Korea until January. Then I was told it wouldn't work for tractors having the backhoe. Today, I finally got a call back from the dealer (after calling him and leaving messages for 4 days in a row). At first he said " no update yet", but after telling him this is a serious safety issue, he got to calling LS in a hurry.
Got back to me a few minutes later saying the parts for the fix are now in shipping, "hopefully have them in 1-3 weeks". He gave me the same part number that I gave him back in November. When I told him it was the same number I gave him previously, I got the typical "Oh, let me find out". Of course, he called me back and said "the parts manager says the fix for both models is the same". Really? Then why couldn't I get the first batch? There is a bit more to the story about what the problem is, but won't bore you guys with that. We'll see if I get a response. I seriously thought about threatening with getting a lawyer, but that would probably just stop everything in its track. ....Just had to rant.

Anyway, gonna try and calm down, take the rest of the day easy as it goes..

BEF: tell your dad HAPPY BIRTHDAY! And relay my thanks for his service! He is a hero in my eyes!

Ed: Hope mom is better today, keep strong, I wish you both well.

Don: when I stopped taking statins about a year ago, I definitely had an increase in energy. The doc put me back on again 2 months ago because my levels creeped back up a bit. Don't like the idea, but until the diet kicks in, have to use them. Looked for Brazil nuts yesterday but couldn't find any just by themselves. Will eventually find some.

Jay: all the talk about the maple syrup (making) lately made me lusting. Yesterday while at Costco, passed by some "Maple French toast" bagels.... Smelled so good, filled up the whole car w/ the smell. I have to say...MMMMM! Hard to have just one:D

Prayers sent out for everyone! Have a great day, stay safe.

LS- How's the knee doing today? Research does not support it, but I swear every time some doctor starts rebuilding the "innards" I get a new barometer and/or hydrometer installed. Good luck on the "fix." It always amazes me how much the vendor "response" quickens when there is a "safety risk" or possible legal action involved.

This has been a really crazy year for maple syrup production. The sap runs have been few and infrequent due to weather and temperatures and then there are days with full production. Some days the sugar houses are boiling, but most days not. The last few days at least up around here have been decent. Times running short on the sugaring season here. Thomas has posted about crazy production this Season as well.

For all the meds that I have been prescribed a statin never has. I am so glad for that.

I finished the last of the CR coffee yesterday and started a new batch of coffee bean this AM and :eek::eek:

There may be some good news on the Saint Bernard rescue/adoption front. The possibilities have been few and far between. There is a dog in ME. I/We are sure hoping to start filling the existing "void" and I could definitely use the exercise. We'll see.
