Taxes are done. Standard deductions all the way.

I did mine early, so both the IRS and my credit union show the refund will be deposited tomorrow.

Man, i missed the show, so had to scroll thru the rerun.

I've been looking for lost pictures. I know i have them somewhere. Got all my old picture envelopes, mostly in date order. Found some more pictures in a closet, taken in san antonio. Also some of my generator project yrs ago, got pics of EMD engines, and parts.

Freezing rain, trees and bushes are icing up. Hope we dont lose power.1517775573473.jpeg

BEF- One does not see many UHF/VHF antennas around here anymore. At one point I had 3 separate amplified antennas UHF, VHF, and FM rotor mounted on a pole on our roof with guywires "holding" it "upright". It was the only way I could get any TV signal.

It did not handle ice nor the weight of treed turkeys well. :-(

Nice freezing rain picture. I hope that you do not lose TV signal or more importantly your electricity.

Right before my surgery in nov, i was trimming a tree and knocked down my tv antenna that was up on the side of my house. I had this one stored away, so its just sitting on my deck as a temp antenna. Only need uhf for hd. I bought a new amplified flat hd antenna, but never got it up due to surgery and much complications. Just had something removed last thur. from my surgery in Nov. Im just now getting to where i can move around freely, but have to watch it.

Don- Nice job with the tree trunk and nice job with the paver brickwork.

BEF- I am glad to read about being less encumbered with surgical "stuff." I hope that you regain full range or at least better range of motion and function soon.

I never really mind the snow management. Ice, sleet, and freezing rain is another matter.

Buckeye, nice walkie talkie. Everything was space age back then.
You didn't just have a walkie talkie, with a Space Sentinel
you could talk to the stars...!

I think Motorola had something like that, they seemed to call radios Tac
Those old industrial radios didn't have much range but my memory was they were pretty durable.
Like the original bag phones all the contractors used to carry on their truck seats.

One more round of rain coming through, that should do it. I got two trays of seedlings planted, vegetables and zinnias, while the rains came down. Nice way to spend the afternoon.

Well, Step Daughter and Friend are on their way to Spain!!

Trip to Lebanon wasn't bad....the snow cleared for a while, and as Thomas wrote in his post, missed Lebanon. So, much bitchin' about nothing.
I cleared the drive and walk, but that was a waste of time....snowing again (for a couple hours now)...went for 3-5....1-3, now 3-7 inches. Well, looks like we already got 2.5", and it's coming down steady...
Looking at the 10 day forecast...8-12 inches on Wednesday, then another 6-11 between Friday and Saturday. Well, that's why I got that big ol' snow blower rigged to the 3PH.

Pulled some funds from savings...paid off the Gator and zero-turn today.

I'm thinking about getting a BOSS or Fisher plow for the Gator (an 855D Diesel with just under 100 hours). A straight (not a Vee type) would cost around $2500, including hydraulics. The hydraulics would be for lift and angling. This would work for the smaller snows....say 6" or so. There's a Mainer TBNer, Devil Dog, that uses a BOSS Vee plow on his gator (gas version) almost exclusively...
Another possibility is a front loader plow for the tractor...to keep it in budget, it would have to be manual angling though.

Ed I hope for the best in your mom's situation. When my 88 year old mom came up here for Hurricane Harvey, she stayed 3.5 days and then she got stir crazy to get back home. I took her down there and cleared out her yard and she had no power, so she came back with us for another couple of days and then decided she had enough friends back home to stay with that had power, so she went back south. She has been paying for nursing home insurance for like forever, probably a bunch of wasted money, but she plans on staying her last bit of time in a rest home.

My wife is now the 2nd in the house coming down with the flu. I will take her to the doc in the morning to see about getting her own prescription of Tamiflu.

I want to thank all of you for the well wishes and prayers. I will say some prayers for you guys. Stay warm and safe up there in that cold.

This super bowl is really a good one.
