About as dull as it gets this morning. Each time I attempt to stretch my time outside with artificial lighting, I usually regret the results. Filling up from my diesel tank in the dark I missing hearing the change in gurgle as it approaches full and didn't see it in time to preventing is spurting out, giving me and tractor an unexpected coat of winter rustproofing.

The young man I found to put the new fence in for me says he will be delivering the creosoted posts this afternoon. I gave him a big advance to cover all the materials a few weeks ago. In business terms that was a bit of a risk, however after seeing how helpful he was to others on another forum a couple of years ago and then meeting him when he came to have a look around, I think my faith in him has a good chance of not being broken.

Good Morning, all.

Temp 44 and going to a high of 46F. Wind SSE 14 gusting to 22 mph. It is pissing it down rain. The pounding rain on my tin roof woke me up. Forecast is for more rain/snow for all week. Today will be the warmest day of the week.

I did some research on a new backhoe for the Kioti and I have pretty much settled on the one that Kioti markets for their tractors. I don't know what model yet. Kioti only sells 4 for all of their tractors. $9,600.oo all in, installed and sales taxed. I will do that in the spring, right after income tax comes back. I called DLL (the people I financed the Kioti through) and they told me that they would be tickled pink to finance the rest IF I put 5 g's down, which is the game plan.
The mileage one way is 168 kms or about 103 miles and the float service will charge me $40.oo to load plus $3.oo/mile. I don't know if that is for the return trip or just one way. I am going to assume it is for the return trip. Probably cost me about $700.oo each way. I will see what the dealer will charge me to do the same thing.

NWS says the current temperature (5 a.m.) is 52 degrees, which is the LOW for last night, and they also show 52 degrees to be the expected HIGH for today. And they show that the Denton airport got .22" of rain before midnight. I just found about .09" in my gauge. Oh well, it's better'n nothin' I guess.

Good morning all, 43 going to 62 and 100% chance of rain. Crazy day yesterday, slept late and then made 2 different trips to town for a bunch of little things. Dr stopped by for mom, said she is in good shape for the shape she is in. Read a few posts yesterday but no time to read through and post. Not sure what I will get into today, time will tell.

Went to meet with the county assessor yesterday on the reassessment of the farm where the solar farm is installed. They are going up next year from $2K value per acre of farm land to $3K, but to $11K per acre where solar is installed. I guess growing sunlight is much more valuable than growing crops. At least the forest and swamp are only $1K and $500 respectively. Everything but the solar is in a land use program that lowers the taxes for forest and farms.
I pointed out a couple of discrepancies on their paperwork, but didn't get a good sense of them being on top of things. At least the lessee of the solar acres will be paying the increased taxes. I talked with them, and they are meeting with the assessors, too...since they are leasing over 1,200 acres across about a dozen farms, they have a lot at stake. Speaking of stake, it makes me feel like grilling a steak outside this evening, if I can beat the rain.

Hope you are on the mend, BEF and Buppies. I'm still trying to recover from the terrible shock I received when looking at that sweater photo.

35°F and clear skies this morning, going up to 46° today. Front rolled through as expected last night, and also brought the expected cold air behind it. It's definitely December here now. When looking at the radar last night, it looked like the rain extended from north of Toronto to Dallas. We didn't get much rain out of it either, just a lot of wind and thunder.

I was in the studio cleaning and re-stringing a guitar, amongst other things, and didn't even hear the storm until my Wife popped in and said something about it. I like that.

If txdon is the hot spot for the low this morning, we could be the cold spot. The first below zero temperature of the season - 3, and not a cloud in the sky. It got up to 34* yesterday, today is going to be in the upper 20'. Didn't get as much snow as I thought, only a few inch but the wind did make it drifted.

Still working on the gun stock. I'm not sure what kind of wood it is. It's a light color and the oil isn't changing it much. I like it more then the dark brown that was on it.

Not much else going on today.

Got up a 0500 this morning, wife sound asleep.

Go to put my sweat pants on from last night that I had laying on a chair next to the bed, and I forgot I was up at the gas station last night and bought a paper. Go to put on my pants in the dark, and a bunch of change fell out onto the hardwood floor. You'd be amazed at the amount of noise loose coins make falling onto a hardwood floor. Wife wasn't too happy. Kind of funny thinking about it.

65°F and no rain last 24 hours

No clue as to intermittent failure of the water heater as it worked as expected when tested. Propane tank at 65% so that not an issue. Wonder if night temp vs day temp was a factor? A head scratcher for me.
