Good morning!!!!

Just above freezing this AM. What a strange day it was yesterday weather wise. We managed to get the errands in, but missed the ice cream run due to the first thunderstorm of the season. I was in a tee-shirt by noon, working outside, then a sweatshirt by about 4PM, followed by a raincoat at around 6PM. It was a steady source of rain, and by the looks of the ground, we are saturated.

Today may be a city run, I am looking for some original windows for my barn. City you say? For a barn part? Yeah, collectors seem to hoard all the working parts for decorations for these city folks. Reclaimed wood, windows, frames, pullies, etc. etc. I still use that stuff! LOL.

Have a great day all, and be safe.

Good Morning! 54F @ 4:45AM. Overcast. Slight chance of a rain shower. High 64F. Winds SE at 5 to 10 mph.

Good luck with your surgery, Buppies. Hopefully this is the last of it?

Got a call from my bulldozer neighbor yesterday. They're about to close escrow on the property next to theirs that formerly housed the neighborhood crime and drug lord. He's razing a sheet metal storage structure and preparing an old house trailer for removal, both tasks generating a lot of metal and wood debris. He called me to ask if I needed any structural steel, so I went over with a portable band saw to see what he had. Picked up about 50' of 1/8" x 2" x 2 1/2" galvanized angle that had been used to top a retaining wall next to the house trailer. It first had to be pried off the top of the wall, then I used the little inverter on the truck battery to power the saw and cut the angle into lengths for transport home. It seems they're unable to get power to the place until escrow actually closes, the power being cut off after the former owner was hauled off to jail and the new owner (not them) failed to pay his bill. He continued to live there with no power, hence no water from the well, for quite some time. As a result the druggie families he rented to made a horrendous mess in the house and out buildings that are also on the property. My neighbor said he's already removed more than a dozen pickup truck loads of trash from the place, and plans to borrow a semi-truck size end dump trailer from his employer and make several more dump runs with it. The changes he plans will make a tremendous improvement in the curb appeal of the property and remove one of the worst eyesores in the neighborhood.

Looks like we're in for another series of storms starting tonight that will continue for the next week or so. So far the deer have been keeping up with the grass growing in the meadow, but this new rain will probably be enough to get it growing faster than they can manage and I'll be mounting up the flail mower early in April before it gets too long. But for today I'll take another swing at taxes this morning and then make some repairs on van parts after the garage warms up this afternoon.

Hope everyone enjoys the rest of the weekend!

37 going to 52 and raining...got some sleet mixed in last night.

Worked on plumbing, but found I needed a certain washer that was unlike the million others I already have, so trip to hardware store today.

Had a great dinner at friends...still celebrating St Paddy's...corned beef and colcannon. Watched NCAA but UVA got trounced. Tar Heels play today!

Funny drone stories!

Need to pour second cup of coffee. 67° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 95° with lots of sun. Still to warm to do much outdoors. Nice early. Then back inside until about 7pm. Then spend a couple hours enjoying the cooler evening on patio. NASCAR in afternoon.
Good Morning All.

Good Morning All.

I saw how warm it is getting over there. When are you planning on heading back? You know Don has some cattle guard clearing he needs done. :)

Watched Supercross on Fox yesterday evening.

So finally I took the training wheels off of my son's bike. (He hasn't had much opportunity to learn because of our rock/gravel drive not being well suited for training wheels). Anyway, I took him to the grassy area and got him going and he was off to the races. Plus, he learned how to skate on his rollerblades this weekend. A double whammy.

He had a great birthday. We measured and marked his height on a piece of trim adjacent to our pantry. He's the same exact height our oldest daughter was at age 7. 4' and skin and bones.

All in all, a great day.

lenny, you made me laugh.

RNG, sounds like the neighborhood is cleaning up.

Drew, borazon is specifically for hardened steel. Looks like that cutter disk might be a good one. Lenox is a good company.

Time to get ready for church.

Have a blessed day all.

41F currently and should get to 46F today.

Spent a week in bed getting over the flu. Today is going to be my first day venturing out so I can go to the Maple Syrup Festival at Pickens!

I feel for you, I spent 3 days in the hospital and a month getting over it.

I check the local obits where Ed lives, never seen one that I thought would be him. I was down his way that week, and was going to message him about meeting somewhere. Before he moved to waynesboro, he lived near my in-laws. Still hoping the best.

I did the same for a couple of weeks, nothing that fit.

65ーF and .86 inches rain last 24 hours. Need the rain. Looks like it will be a wet day.

So if I take this opportunity to hone my skills with my new aerial tractor in the living room I guess the results could be awesome or disastrous. :) with only single 10 minute flight so far lots of honing needed.
An inside day for sure unless the wx changes.
Be safe
Have a great day
My son is on his second drone, new one is similar to yours, he gets super stills and video with it.

Where can I get the plutonium?

I hear a gal named Hillary something has some for sale!

Yesterday turned out very nice for my 400 mile round trip to Front Royal for the 8 year old grandson's birthday, pretty sunshine hit 63° at one point west of DC on 66. Never saw any rain until this morning, I guess we were in the right spot at the right time. Wife's Edge limited got 24.6 mpg, mountains and all, not bad for an SUV that size.

Checked out my son's new "commuter car", he bought to save gas over driving his Jeep Wrnagler Unlimeted into Northern VA everyday, It's a Saturn Sky Redline with a 2.0 turbo and stage one performance kit. Puts out 290 H.P. and 323 lb ft of torque in a car barely weighing 3000 lbs. Commuter indeed!:D

Heading back around Easter.
Don will have to do cattle guard himself. Taking a northern route home and stopping by to visit Harvey and Glenda.

Another day and I'll have 2 completed and then just have 2 more to do. I am however getting slower the first took one day the second two days . . . at this rate the 3rd and fourth one will be complete in 7 days. Hows that for new math RNG and Eric.

Talked with my niece yesterday and she got me to pet one of her alligators, not a pleasant experience. I kept thinking am I really faster than the flick of his head? . . . anyway some tv show is out to interviewer next month, for maybe one show, Worlds Toughest Jobs - or something like that.

Good afternoon.

36F and mostly cloudy @ 12:30, most of the snow on the grass has melted at this point ... heading up near 50F for a couple of days, then back down into the 30's for a day, and warming up to 50's after that.

Trip to Rift Lake Aquatics went well. Ended up picking up some yellow lab (Labidochromis caeruleus) juvies for the 55G ... look to be the Lions Cove (I) morph from what I know of it, although the owner wasn't claiming them to be. Looks like I got 1 male and 5 females, although they may be too young/small to accurately *** at this point. Here's what a male of the species looks like:

Labidochromis caeruleus Lions Cove I.jpg

Withheld myself from taking home the last L177 Gold Nugget pleco he had (don't have a suitable tank ready to put it in at this point) ... even though the price was very reasonable from what I've seen.

Got a couple inches of snow overnight, but has warmed up and has melted. Still got last week's snow left in the shade areas.
