Good morning! 61˚ heading to 85˚ with lots of sunshine. Light NW wind.

I wonder what they base the millage rating on tires with? My 90K Michelin tires on the Subaru need replacing after 30K.
Smooth pavement ...

(IOW, something other than rural Texas roads ... ;))

Drew. Tile grout will crack if there is ANY movement in the sub floor. Sealer won't hold it.

Need to pour second cup of coffee.
Just poured mine myself ...

Still need to change oil in engine and generator. Will not happen in the next few day. Rain is forecast until next Monday.
Mebbe there will be a break and you can do it in between the raindrops.

RS, nice pile of wood. My back ache's thinking about stacking all that wood.
Yeah ... I can't say I'm looking forward to it ...

Dunno if it will all get stacked this year ... might stack enough to heat this winter and just pile and tarp the rest.

thanks.
this stuff kinda looks like it dissolved...yes, the room has some settling issues; I had to jack it up once professionally with engineers.
I have one telltale crack on the wall that I keep an eye on. My canary in the mine.
But it could be movement, good thought. I think they put too much Pinesol on it, but it's in several different areas of the floor. One including right under my feet
at the sink. And one where almost no one walks.

I'll keep an eye on this. Or a foot...

Good Morning! 70F @ 7:30AM. Sunny. High 92F. Winds S at 5 to 10 mph.

What with the new furnace and all that split wood, RS, you and the missus are in for a nice toasty winter! One of the best things I did during the splitting marathon several years ago was to palletize the wood as I split it. Easy to move the pallets with the tractor, and haven't had to touch the wood again until it gets burned.

If you're looking for a good tile sealer, Drew, I've had very good luck with 511. I don't know what's in Pinesol, but it could very well be the problem if the grout wasn't sealed properly.

Holy cow, Farmer, if the professor's calculations are correct, they'll be delivering enough concrete for a 10.8" thick foundation! Hope your form boards are tall enough:laughing:

Slept 'till 1:30PM yesterday, then went out and put away the lights and plastic for the spray booth. Pulled the paper and tape off the rear hatch and ended up with a big pile. No wonder it took so long to get it all masked. Probably get the rest of it off in the next day or so, as it's easier when the paint is still a little bit soft. Neighbor/bodyman says to trim the runs off with a single edge razor blade, but I'm not sure I trust myself not to make a mess with one. I usually wet sand with 800 and a block, then 1200, then get out the electric buffer for the rest. Between the spray painting and all this sanding, my right arm is going to end up much larger than my left, like a human fiddler crab.

Looking back over the years, I was past due for a blue four wheeler. Painted a bicycle that color, then a motorcycle, so the van is just the next step in a natural progression. Not sure about a blue house, though, might have to think that one over for a bit...

Happy Hump Day!

At least discount tire is returning them to Michelin and I'm getting $88 back per tire. I got less than half the mileage on these 90k tires.

Just curious, Don, were they Michelin Defenders? I have them on an F250, and just bought another set for the Vanagon.

68F, light morning rain starting to fall.

Dog/housesitters depart today, then life back to our old normal. Have to ease into it :) sure good to be back home.

Sure like that blue paint, RNG

Be safe
Have a great day

I wonder if the room is still moving for David/Sodamo. Lots of plane and boat trips can do that.
Bet his bed felt good, the dogs happy, and hopefully not too many things broke while he was away.
My stepsister Lisa Leydon lives on one of the islands, forget which, hard to pry her off, loves the place.

Nope :)
River cruise didn't have the sense of motion like on the ocean, more a floating thing unless watching things pass by.

Seems our own bed is ALWAYS the best to come home to, not that I wouldn't bring one of those cruise beds home.

Dogs are happy to have us back, but their vacation is about over as these people sitting them spoil them worse than we do. While we have the habit of sharing breakfast, usually what we have with them, Jan was telling us she often would cook them supper as well. The day we came home they had beef knuckle bones from the local butcher as a treat as they waited for us!!!

I can relate to your SIL, I went 7 years without leaving the island except a 4 hr trip to Oahu and I never left the HNL airport. If we are island bound until my extensive trip in 4-5 years it sure won't bother me a bit.

Not morning here anymore, but a beautiful sunny, breezy 66° today. Windows are all open. I certainly don't miss those 90s & 100s we've had much of the summer.

Yes they were. They are good tires, I have had fewer flats and good gas millage. The new set I put on today were Defenders also. Just keep up the rotation, and when they wear out remember the 90K warranty. They prorate the warranty of course, but being $88 off per tire is good. I really don't expect any tire out here to last over 30,000 miles anyway. I guess they figure most people would forget or sell their car. It's not transferable, you have to be the original purchaser.
Also there is a time factor which I don't have to worry about out here because everythings is a half day's drive away.

Yes they brought me enough for 10.8" as it was cheaper than just buying the 9.25" I needed. Specs on bin called for 9". So I just used a 2x10 and poured whole thickness. ImageUploadedByTractorByNet1475089459.978914.jpg

Rain was moving in so I covered it after brooming it. It was just getting hard. Not set. This was noon. Have had a couple good showers on it since. ImageUploadedByTractorByNet1475089615.104407.jpg

I sure hope so ! :D

Yup, been thinking about doing that ... although my limited lift capacity means there won't be all that much on a pallet ... mebbe 1' to 2' at most.

For the shop I can get two rows, 6' high or so, about 28' to 32' long stacked along the one outside wall ... I usually use a two-wheel dolly to bring it in.

Need to check how much tin I have, to see if I can build some covered storage ... otherwise, I'll probably just do racks and tarp it.

BTW: No further wet spots on the pavement from the front axle ...

Got all the rounds in the low area moved to higher ground ... then went ahead and split about another 15 or so rounds.

IMG_0798.jpg

I finished around noon and put the splitter away for the time being - mostly because of how it was looking on the radar - then refilled the bird feeders, and went and did some running around I needed to do.

And it still hasn't started raining ...

I have several pairs of old shoes that I've used when chainsawing ... it's next to impossible to get all the saw dust out ... :D
y.
I find that a pair of calf length gumboots with the trouser legs pulled over he outside keeps the chips out of my socks. having rips/tears or holes in the trousers reduces the effectiveness.

Good evening all. 58F calm and clear this morning. Weather/time station lost the outside temp sensor so took out the batteries and the contacts were looking a little corroded, so cleaned them up and everything is well except for time standard. (Have more problems syncing down here than STL) Got the dog house off the van engine, someone had glued :eek::thumbdown: the dog house carpet to the floor carpet and had to unbond by hand! Trying to track down a coolant leak and need to do the 100K tuneup.

Is that a FEL limit, or do you already have a fork mount for your 3pt ? Good to see you have plenty of wood in reserve this year.
