77 this morning and headed to 86 today. Currently 82. Line of thunderstorms on its way. Still a few hours out.

Have 2 barns ready to disinfect and bug spray. Hopefully get the other 2 to that point this morning and get that done before the storms. Birds arrive Friday.

Buppies. I'd be putting a window unit in the bedroom atleast. The power company isn't going to like you this month. You may get taken off the Christmas card list. :).

Buppies; still no a/c house is 87. [/I said:
oh dear, Thomas, send some of your cool morning air down to Buppies please

Sure hope you have some big fans at home Randy. I'd be sleeping in my truck.
It's fine in the house, but the garage and sheds don't fair as well, even with AC in the garage it gets hot, not enough insulation, which I plan to remedy this fall.
Hey, it got all the way down to 81° this morning! It's 89° now, feels like 101°, come on cool down! I mowed yesterday, man it was hot! All the grass and dust sticking to me, I almost needed a shower! Thank goodness for water hoses! :D 95° today, 96° tomorrow...
Drew, you got a great deal on the headliner, that's a pain in the butt, nasty job.

Buppies, hope the nose is getting along well.

I think I can make up for Buppies short fall this month. My bill just arrived: $367.89. Lots of welder and compressor time in there, but I think the real culprit is the sticking jet pump on the well. Not sure how long it ran that way, but I caught it three times when the motor housing was too hot to touch. Oh well (no pun intended), it's only money, right? :duh::banghead:

Dang ... you just made me remember that I forgot to shut off the compressor last night when I left the shop ... :(

Took a bit of a nap this morning (after my first post at 0607)...been a long tough week of early days (as you all know) and later nights (for me).
Anyway, woke up about 1130 and it was raining...rain is good, because we need it...but put the skids on my chores.
So, no mowing today which means no target set up.
Oh well...maybe Sunday!

sometimes you have to put your battery on charge for a little longer Roy,
sounds like you made fine use of your morning.

so hot out I don't even want to wash the car. The truck is now outside, thankfully with window shades that allow me to keep all four windows cracked about half an inch.
Dark green truck gets awfully hot anyway. I put 303 all over the top of the dash, hope it helps to prevent cracking. Also put it on the tires, bed cover and trim.
Sun tan lotion for one's plastics and rubber.

Dug up and cleaned out the veggie garden earlier, found a dozen more potatoes, too funny, and am now ready to plant beans. AFTER I have the electric fence all hooked up and zapping away. I was almost a little lightheaded out there, sweating like a faucet, and realized this wasn't fun any more
and time to come in. Drank a sports drink and sat in front of a big fan with my shirt off for ten minutes and cooled off nicely.

which reminds me I forgot to bring in the potatoes, left them in a pile out there. talk about some hot potatoes...;)

Good afternoon all. 75F this morning, overcast and .5 in in the rain-gauge. North wind at 15-20mph, 87F and partly cloudy skies. Looks like Louisiana is going to hog the rain this week, none in my forecast till next weekend :(. Got bike ride in, weather was cooler but humidity still off the charts. Will sharpen mower blade and clea off front porch after nap.

Can any tell if this is the good Wolf spider that eats Brown Recluses. She was sitting on the threshold this morning wanting in.

Kyle, I put a whole 22 oz can of the Arctic Freeze in my 2004 Kodiak a 8 years ago. Got the one with gauge and used that to determine when system was properly filled. It's still cooling very well. Some will warn about putting the Freon with sealer in. But it has worked well for me.

I will report back after I get a chance to install it. Maybe not today.

Just started homemade icecream in the mixer.

WE'LL ALL BE RIGHT OVER!!! Except those on non dairy diets.

Don, I guess we hogged almost 2" of rain this morning. It was so nice we got so much done outside and in the barn while the temps were ice cold 75 or so. Now I'll have to mow the lawn in another week. We are having an army worm infestation. The birds are happy that I mowed the lawn short so they can get to the worms.

RNG, you aren't much more than us. Ours hovers around $280 in the summer/winter and $180 in the off months.

Kyle you are a rain hog. I came through Giddings around 10AM and some streets were flooded.

I think the problem with my parent's new propane hot water heater is that the pilot light is too big and slowly heats up the water and gets it too hot. I emptied all the hot water out and am having my Mom take the temp reading every two hours. The WH is set on vacation mode 50˚ and the water coming in is 85˚ so the burner should not be coming on, and I have not seen it come on. The only logical explanation is the pilot is burning too big, right? The water temp before I emptied it was 122˚. It sits in a closet in the AC house.

I complained to wife that $120 for Gas and Electric combined was to much.

You can make her feel even better when you tell her that $367.89 was just for ELECTRICITY! :hissyfit:

But the good news is that the new weather station will be here Thursday.

The bad news is that the old one is working again. :confused2::eek:

More good news/bad news.

Got the front of the spray booth up, fans and filters mounted.

boothFront.jpg

Used up ALL the foam Kyle shipped with his impact gun!

boothFrontInside.jpg

The bad news is that the intake filters are so dense that no air makes it past them. But I'm sure what little does is nice and clean. So I swapped out to the exhaust filters and there's airflow now, but not nearly enough to clear the fumes in time for me to be able to see what I'm painting.

The good news: There's a gen-u-wine spray booth fan for sale right now on Craig's List.

The bad news: it's in South Lake Tahoe, a good three and a half hours from here.

The good news: It'll only cost fifty bux in fuel to get there and back, and he's only asking twenty five bux.

The bad news: The seller isn't returning my texts, so it's probably already sold.

Chocolate oreo ice cream was good.
Still hovering around 95°.
Worked on some ductwork in the basement, with cold air blowing in my face. Trying to clean up transition from geo unit to original duct. Had a temporary transition in for a few yrs now. Not done, but better.
