Don't forget yer summer wear and sun block; it's gonna be HOT! And forget about tastin' and drivin', the CHP loves the income generated by DWI stops. Sip'n'spit! The Hydro in Calistoga has good food and a fun atmosphere, Cafe Sarafornia also in Calistoga has an awesome breakfast burrito and good lattes.
:

Thanks RNG, was hoping for food suggestions in Calistoga. One of our stops is the Sterling Winery.

Do you have any favorites in Sonoma?

We were on same area, about 4 years ago and weather was fantastic, had to wear a jacket in the evening.

I've had fairly good results, on body decals, starting on one end with a heat gun, on low. Once you get it started just slowly move along heating and pulling. No glue residue.

Got the hole cleared out and the pipe uncovered yesterday for the tie-in today ... was a PITA with the top of the pipe being 24" down and the hole not being all that big:

Dug it out with a hand trowel with my butt sitting on the edge of the trench and my torso doubled over, with my head down in the hole ... :(

.

RS, you could try the "Kissing the Blarney Stone" working position?

Mercedes Introduces All-Electric Heavy Truck - Automobile

Too bad Mercedes doesn't make farm tractors, like Lamborghini used to.
First they'd take this electric tech and convert it to a tractor; the perfect ballast weight in the rear.
And then they'd make an AMG version of it with lovely carbon fibre trim,
heated and cooled leather Recaro seats and as a real game changer, they'd bring a 100hp engine
to the hydrostatic market. Every one else conks out 30hp less.
Pick a price point 20-30% above Deere.
I mean, aren't successful farmers allowed one fun tractor when they own ten? They'll spend incredible amounts of money on
tractor pull tractors and lugging them around, so the money is there for something extra special for Farmer John.
Or even a few of us fake Farmer Johns...;)
Actually most of us are pretty frugal when it comes to machinery, a serious bunch of value buyers.
But it's fun to dream...

I wonder when Gale Banks will have a turbo mod with launch control for my Kubota.
Just what I need when delicately moving mulch...

Growing up on a farm with 70 acres of woods, i spent a lot of time in those woods as a little kid, parents always figured we'd be in by dinner and they were right.
So doing plaster paris hoof prints of deer tracks in Cub Scouts wasn't really something new for me. I dropped out after several years, and later wish I hadn't.
Always thought becoming a Scout was a real display of character. Those badges meant they had walked the walk and not just talked the talk. And likely some leadership skills learned also.

Big rain storms on the way home, but dry at the house. We need rain and it keeps missing us.

I don't know about the rest of you but I'm totally hammered by the amount of work rs is doing. Keep it up. If Making me feel lazy is your objective, you have succeeded. :)

RNG, you too.

I agree. Sometimes I have to flop down in the lazy-boy for a few minutes rest after just reading the posts of all they accomplish. :)

16 years ago I went up and down Napa/Sonoma/Santa Rosa/Geyserville for days, and over to Bodega Bay. Being from Texas, I wanted a meal to sink my teeth into and actually get them dirty. I later contemplated that, while nice, it is a racket to see how much they can get you to spend for how little food they can give you and it will be foo foo ish. We went to the culinary institute and many other places. I wanted to do the mud baths at Calistoga but didn't get around to it. I liked F. F. Coppola's wines. He had some really sweet stuff in very small bottles that a non wine drinker like me could enjoy. Pricey though. I thought I'd found my meal over at Bodega Bay in a nice seafood restaurant. Nearly foaming at the mouth when they set down that plate of huge shrimp in front of me only to find out that the Pacific shrimp don't have much flavor at all compared to Gulf of Mexico shrimp....Maybe it is what one is used to.

I remember Richard Pryor saying "Winos ain't fraid about nothing except running out of wine"

Don, did you get any rain?

I did watch a Nat Geo re run of a show about Blue Fin Tuna. Learned a lot of facts. Spawned in the Gulf of Mexico. Those huge whale sharks inhale the small fry by the zillions when they are about 2" long trying to hide under the floating sargasso. Eat 'em like krill.

RS, been there. I recall it's just other side of the 101 from Copolla Winery? We're not port drinkers but, might be a nice change. Thanks!

I kissed the BS back in mid 1970's when we were drilling an offshore well in the Celtic Sea. Just don't look down ... or do, long way down.

74 going to 88.

Had 4 different t-storms come through yesterday evening and last night. Third one knocked out power for 2 hours. Will check gauge once light but local WU station reports 2 inches on top of 2.5 previous day. I can hear the creek down at the bottom of the hill right now and it sounds like a white water river.

My wife took the cover off the grill last night...surprise...Mr Blacksnake! She is a nature lover, but doesn't like these kind of surprises.

I wouldn't fancy undercooked snake either ! At least your wife now knows her heart is in good condition. :)

Drinking first cup of coffee. 64° with scattered clouds this morning. Heading to 80° with chance of thunderstorms throughout the day. Doctors appointment this morning. Then continue putting things back on shelves in shop. I had lots of plumbing, electrical, welding and hydraulic stuff spread around 3 buildings. When I am done it will be stored in plastic containers in one area. Next project will be to organize the metal for welding projects that I have collected over the years. But not ready to lift the heavier pieces yet.
Wngsprd, Snakes in the BBQ. Good name for a new movie?
Eric, a few day without your new car. Did she leave you the owners manual to read?

I spread the mowing over three days and my right hand is only slightly puffed up now, an improvement.
Teenage helper comes back Monday.
Like Ron I'm going down to spend time in the a/c today organizing the woodshop and barn in general.
Staying out of the sun seems to be the main trick and it's supposed to be cooler today.
