Good morning!!!!

Good morning all. It would be a very nice day again if the wind wasn't quite so strong, the ash trees are taking quite a battering.

Unlike America, this past holiday weekend in the UK had no connections to those who have fought for their country. Today has though, it is exactly 100 years since the Battle of Jutland, the biggest navel battle of the First World War and one that cost many lives on both sides.

Wader update - some would say my seam sealing sucks, but I'll be positive, it was 50% successful !

Poured first cup of coffee. 50° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 81° with mostly sunny skies. Had a great holiday with the grand kids. Doctor appointments this week. Dentist today.
Good Morning All.

great picture Eric, no question which boot leaks!
68 degrees in sticky weather going up to high 70s in rain this afternoon.
I have settlement this morning on my new one acre piece of land bought from my neighbor; hopefully the self cancelling tax lien has now dropped off his property and clear title will not be an issue. So if the rain stops this week, I might get some sunflowers planted.

Backed out of the garage with my car yesterday afternoon to go to a picnic, put it in Drive and nothing happened, gearshift would not move. I fiddled with it, turned the car on and off, which only managed to determine it was stuck in reverse, while in the Park position, the linkage to the trans had clearly fallen off or become jammed, and now my car can only be flatbedded out. GRRRRR. I'm less worried about the linkage fix (was going to spend the week in the shop anyway this week...) but whether the tow truck operator will damage the car pulling it into the truck with the trans in reverse. Well, glad it happened at home in my driveway than out on the road at night.
And glad my trusty truck was right there. And I had just spent over an hour waxing the last of the car, and this is how I was repaid...hmmmm. Very normal six speed ZF trans, have to believe this is a linkage issue only. The gear shift physically would not move, locked in park position, but in reverse gear. Once I turned the engine off it would not restart thinking it was not in Park, so all I could do was set the parking brake as the car wanted to roll backwards, and turn off the engine. Not the first time I have ever had a shift linkage problem, but this was a bit of a surprise. Hopefully a missing bolt or pin somewhere.

66 high of 83 later and storms typical for this time of year

65 heavy fog...on to 84 and maybe rain. Stayed cloudy yesterday, but no rain.

Just got an email from Rheem - recall on my almost new hot water heater. Sounds like they can fix it here (control panel issue) and not replace.

66F clear sky low 80's for high.
Just another putter day up here on side of the mountains.

Enjoy the day all.

64 this morning and headed to 88 today.

Well the chicken coops are decrusted. I'll be putting the ROPS back on the tractor and hooking it to the new hay rake. Then hook dads tractor to the baler which I hope he brings the monitor for. Then we should be ready to start baling hay today. Looking for about 75 bales. It's very thin this year. Definitely not my usual hay. We'll see how it turns out.

Good Morning. 70F @ 5:45AM. Abundant sunshine. High 101F. Winds NW at 5 to 10 mph.

Sorry to hear about the Jag, Drew. But things like that go hand in hand with the luxury car experience, unless of course you choose a Lexus.

Came home with the same two bikes I left with, but did get one strong nibble. We'll see.

Summer seems to have come in with a vengeance, with temps heading up for the rest of the week into the weekend. Time for afternoon siestas again...

BTW guys other snakes can and do climb trees, had small copperhead drop out of a tree while floatin a creek in the Missouri Ozarks

I've had more than one cottonmouth drop into my boat on the Pasquatank River in NC. They really don't aim for the boat, they just finish sunning and are heading back to the water but they're very dangerous. Scares the heck out of you too! My buddy, Winky Hewitt, put a big old 12 ga #4 hole in a perfectly good aluminum Ted Williams boat one day, when that happened.

Cloudy/sunny so far, warm and humid, good bit of rain yesterday, around an inch.

Good morning,
71 heading to 81 and humid here guys. Had just enough rail last evening to pop the grass and spike the humidity.

Spent a good part of yesterday prepping the rest of the south wall for stain, Got a lot of repair to do on the end tails but can get stain on the rest first. It was hot and humid out there and your in the full sun working there.

Good morning all. 68F partly cloudy, and light breeze. Forecast is to go back to full overcast, 82F and thunderstorms chance increasing this afternoon, most likely late evening. TMA list include house assessment, talk to bike shop about getting it ready for Fault line ride in two weeks, clean boat.

65°F this morning and no rain last 24 hours, but forecast.

Be safe
Have a great day

Catch of the Day. Snow peas and bush beans will be on the menu tonight.
Was going to get a little mowing in and then looked at the radar and well no....big line of yellows and reds headed this way.
Half my onions stopped growing and started to rot. ? Everything else is going bonkers.

Settlement on new land went well today; seller was sober and shaved, first time I've ever seen that.
No new liens so I own my first tiny patch of real farmland. I'll be planting about ten different varieties of sunflowers later this week.

Drew, congratulations on being a farmer, you now have more land tilled than I do. Veggies looking good (only took 47 seconds to download the pic - fast connection today). Any word on the Jag?

We also have red and yellows heading this way, again, just when they opened up one of two rain damaged roads.:pirate:

OK guys, I need some trouble shooting-advice. My Dad called and said his Ford 3610 tractor starts but will not go into gear, it just grinds. We are under a flash flood warning till Thursday morning so it will be a while before I can look at it. Any suggestion on how to proceed or what is wrong with it? (Besides having Jag disease.)

Clutch is not disengaging. With all the rain it may be rusted to the flywheel. One of the ways to break it loose is to start tractor in low gear. Then drive it against a tree to break it loose. Do this with great care.
My tractor came with a wood block to put under the clutch pedal when tractor is stored for a period of time. Supposed to stop the problem. But I have never used it.

Thanks Ron, my Kubota has a hook attachment on the clutch to hold the pedal down if not in use for a while, and I have been blocking the clutch down on the Farmall since I only use it a few times a year. I told my Dad to block the clutch down for a few days to see if it will release. His tractor does not start in gear because of a safety thing so he can't fix it like I did my Farmall - by bump starting it in gear.
