73° and sticky as a young'un eating pancakes! I blame Drew! :D Training right over us since early yesterday afternoon, morning was beautiful. Rode the grand kids in my wagon behind the tractor until they surrendered. Three boys, and they were down to the brother vs cousin, vs brother fighting and squealing. I wore all that out of them dragging them around and chasing bugs and such. The parents were asking how I did it, I said old age and treachery!

Memorial day is for those that gave all defending freedom and family, but remember, the wars didn't kill them all on the field of battle. Many have died as a direct result of their scars, physical and emotional. Some were suicide others were poor health or injuries. My dad died at 41 of a massive heart attack, I'm sure the stresses of war were partly to blame. Anyone that ever saw combat knows that you never truly leave it behind.
God bless those that gave all!

62 right now...heading to about 87 today. Maybe a thunderstorm.

Busy day yesterday. Had to go in to work to standby for a technician to repair one of our CMMs (Coordinate Measuring Machine). Once back home, took a nap, then mowed the front yard in the late afternoon and the field in the early evening.
If I can get my weed wacker started, I'll be doing some trimming today.

I used to do that a lot. First with DEA, then Zeiss. There isn't much that can be really fixed on them, it's a matter of new parts usually. I used to try to get them to limp along until the tech showed up.

Beautiful day here, looking at trimming up a couple of trees that have lost some big limbs.

Have a good one!

Yeah...it was a motor replaced. That kind of surprised me since the machine would home, but wouldn't travel in one axis using the joystick.

toppop52,, You nailed it. Most that are my age had someone they knew in WW2, MY dad never spoke of it much, but it was always there.

Good Day Guys, Nice here on The North Bluff again today.

Got to admit the race yesterday at Indy was a good one for a change. Plenty of action and drama. Happy with the win. Was looking at GasMonkey # 24 till he hit the wall. Don’t feel too bad for AJ who fielded foreign car engines with non US drivers. I got to admit I did feel a bit sorry for him when it looked like they would get it done. Now Nascar was okay but you got to give it to a guy who can stay out front for most of 600 miles.
Not much going on today, got to weed wack and that is about it. Had the big holiday party yesterday afternoon. No plans for today
Remember to thank a Vet!

66°F and no rain last 24 hours.

Productive day yesterday. No tractor involved, but I did get a start on tiling the cottage lanai. That will keep me busy rest of the week.
But, not today, today is rather social, Brunch with our usual group of friends then in town later for a pasta sampling with our Monday happy hour friends.

Be safe
Have a great day.

No parade planned, but definitely thoughts on why this day is important. Thanks to all who paid so unselfishly.

The rain stopped and blue skies returned. But don't look up when you are standing under a mesquite tree.

Had rain this morning but has cleared up so I spent the last 2 hours cleaning the interior of my truck, doesn't smell like my dog now. That won't last he is ignoring me already since I ran an errand with out him. Hope all had a good Memorial Day weekend. Thank You all Veterans, prayers for all who made the ultimate sacrifice RIP!

That's another good reason why I live in New Hampshire! No mesquite trees here to harbor
such scary wild life.

Don. Please id the snake. Round eyes so non-venomous. Or is that different in Texas.

I could not positively ID it because of the glare and only seeing the belly but with the shape and movements I'd say it was a very old rat snake, also know as a chicken snake because it will get in the chicken pens and eat the eggs. Can you see the tail in the first pic, it was long snake, about 7ft.) Non-venomous. I go by the shape of the head for a quick reference of a poisionous snake.

Non venomous, but hard on any bird nests and eggs or baby birds. You might not like this, but I'm a bird watcher and if I see 'em in the trees I do something about it. If I see 'em on the ground (eating mice) I let them be....usually unless they are getting into equipment.

Yep, saw that on KPRC this morning. She needs to get a SUV with cage between rear and drivers seat.
Have her buy an old Ford retired cop car and put the barrier. Plastic rear seats and all.

Good evening all. 69F and thunderstorms this morning, rain gauge was hiding in the garage but we had about an 1 in of rain looking at the puddles and radar estimates. TMA short list today bike ride and golf (9 holes) and fix garage door , eye had gotten bent and could not "see" across the door opening. Starting tomorrow afternoon will be having more rain :(

This one was on the ground till Whipper found it. It jumped about 3' to the lower limbs and made it to the top in about two seconds.
