Scotty, there is power to the property immediately behind us. Initial investigation determined getting it down here to be expensive. 2 or 3 poles, permission from property owner, then the possibility the property below would expect same, making for an unsightly run of poles and lines thru our view. At the time, a quick estimate and expected electric bill would likely be in excess of $200/month. Like you, so many fees tacked onto already outrageous rate. Opted for the off grid and glad we did. We tend to average 30-40 kwh/day, more if running the hottub.

Coffee done brewing. 46° with partly cloudy skies. Heading to 50° with Rain, Snow and Wind. 72° with sun and clouds made a perfect day for last day of Winter. Decided to work on repairing bird feeder post that Deer have been working at bending over so they can get at food in feeder. Raised pole and feeder up over a foot. By the time I finished I had enough. Did not get to garden pond cleanup. Todays weather may stop me from getting it done today. Maybe a conserve energy day.
Where is the suet cake?

good morning all
cloudy today and rain, the nice warm sunny weather is over though still 65 today.
got a lot done yesterday and feel good about it.
today I still have to do more wash, and then later today head over to Princeton to have
dinner with my sister. I'm her first invite to dinner, happy to be her guinea pig, she's a fine cook.

Mostly, very cool about the little girl hug. Puts a smile on your face for a long time.
Bill, sounds like a good day to sleep in. You've been working hard on that snow.

Buppies, good to hear the update on Holly. Prayers.

Cut a load of firewood yesterday. Had to make a new path through the woods into an area where there are several trees to cut. In my younger days I would have rolled each round down or hand carried them down to the path, but decided to clear a little brush and squeeze the tractor through the trees, that way only carry them a short distance.

While about to stop the tractor, I found the Bat Cave.

I saw a bat fly up from the ground as I approached a tree. Got down from the tractor and went around the other side and saw this.
